I had beef neck sous-vide with a lager. The beef was accompanied by a poached egg, bread dumplings, and a dill sauce. I was expecting something heavy, but it wasn't. It was really excellent. We ordered the beef cheeks, which were served cold (likely as intended but not what I was expecting). Flavor was fine but not great. The burger was also just okay. For something so standard, it was passable but not likely to order again. Our favorite dishes were 1) the duck and 2) potato and vegetable patties. Duck was crispy, hot, and had pretty good flavor! The vegetable patties were also crispy and balanced, slightly sweet. The beer list was limited but we liked what we ordered. Hate to be a broken record but we've had better while in the city. Wouldn't recommend this place to a friend since it was just average.

I have tried the Pilsner Urquell chain two times (previously in Prague), and both times the food delivered in flavor. Servers were pleasant and helpful. Since this is a PU chain, you only get a choice of two drafts, light or dark. Also, I wish they would wipe down the table before serving me. The previous customers only had beer, but the overflow brought a bunch of ants to the party. Nice patio and ample indoor seating. Dinner service stops at 8PM on Sun.

Went there twice on two different days. Both times food was good - typical Czech fare (svickova,…read moregulas, krkovice, etc). Service is normal. If you look white and don't speak Czech at the table they assume you're German and speak to you in German (we are Dutch, I understand Czech and ordered in Czech, nevertheless the waitress kept speaking German). Unfortunately the bill presented a "various drinks 10% tax" (translated) charge of 67kc highlighted in red, which we never ordered, and never received. It's evident this is not a real tax, as we didn't order 670kc worth of drinks, so it can't be 10% tax of anything. We had two dishes, two beers and two ciders as listed, and the tax is always listed separately as DPH 10% and 21% at the bottom of the order, as it is here too (correctly). We disputed this 67kc charge and the waitress didn't want to give in/lose face, and eventually snatched the 700kc from our table and left us. If it's tax it's always listed separately, not as a 'Název'. If it's a service charge, it should be labelled 'servis' or 'obsluha' or 'tips' - it wasn't (and even that is uncommon in CZ outside tourist areas). The waitress also told us we can pay "36 euro" (written in pen on the bill) which as of the time of writing is the same as 875kc, NOT 742kc - furthermore trying to cheat us out of more money through unofficial conversion. Being cheated for the equivalent of 2.5 euros is a really low blow for a restaurant that is owned by a large brewery and we won't be coming here again. We advise anyone who does come here and speaks anything other than Czech to carefully check their bill or go to another place - you can get pub food and a beer at 5 other places in a 100 meter radius. It's a pity, because we liked the food and the previous time the bill was fine and the ambiance is good - but the manager should be aware of what their staff is doing. I'm certain if I came in alone and only ordered and paid in Czech without my Dutch speaking family, such a charge would not have appeared - as this hasn't happened to me before in the past 4 years in Czechia.

Lots of kitsch stuff all over the place and on the ceiling, making it feel busy and rustic simultaneously. Our server was nice and didn't mind that we hung out a bit after closing. Look for the Art Deco style entrance, which takes you down a long hallway past other unrelated shops, to the entrance of the brewery / brewpub. When I came, they weren't exactly offering tours, but they had paper place mats out that walk you through the brewing process, and how long this building has been doing which function of the brewing process. The waiter took me past a plaster accordion player statue to a booth by the fermentation tanks. I was in heaven! I got a sampler of beer, which includes their own pilsner, a few other beers, and my fav- the beer champagne! The beer champagne wasn't the champagne of beers, Miller High Life, but a beer champagne! It seems that they used champagne yeast to make a higher proof effervescently bubbly brew that I'd drink all the time if I could get it! I also got a shot of the distilled beer. I've tried this kinda stuff before, which isn't that great. Think a weird hoppy vodka. Theirs wasn't much better than most homemade moonshine. I've seen places make this 'shine from beer that gets messed up, but they don't want to pour down the drain. Meh- it works. The place was decorated in a strange brewery fashion. They have a breathalyzer mounted on the wall by the restroom! Wooot! I got a 1.354%! WOOOT!

The food is here to keep you busy and to slow down how fast you get drunk. Order bar food - fries, sausages, fried cheese- and you'll be great. Order a whole meal and well, you get the picture. The beer is good and the shots may or may not be to your taste. No, they're not free. Why would a beer hall give away alcohol? However, the word "no" is perfectly acceptable if you don't want a shot or another beer. The staff doesn't care whether or not you order beer. I got bottled tea and I saw others drinking coffee. No hassles. Atmosphere is kicka**. On a nice day the outdoor tables are lovely. The interior has to be seen to be believed. If you tried to conjure up a fairytale Bohemian tavern you couldn't come up with something better than this. Stay as long as you like and enjoy the accordion music and the vibe. And this is from someone who doesn't drink alcohol and doesn't much care for Central European food.
