We started with jamon croquettes which were delicious. There were six individuals ball-shaped croquettes. The cheese and ham on the inside form a light texture. We shared chicken fingers. The seasoning is unique. It came lightly crumbed, and cut into small pieces with a creamy dipping sauce. They tasted great- not overly fried. I ordered huevos rancheros. I'm accustomed to Mexican-style huevos rancheros. These, served in a small iron skillet, have a flavor of their own. The ranchero sauce is tomato based- added lightly on top of the huevos. The potatoes are more like french fries. Very good. For dessert, I had chocolate and churros which I definitely recommend.

Came here with my cousin during siesta when most establishments are either closed or in a supreme lull. Thankfully, El Botánico was open for business. We sat at the two big comfy chairs in the back with a pleasant view of the establishment. Decorated like a botanical garden with plants, assortment of chairs, and other aesthetics, this space could feel intimate or romantic due to the dimmed lighting, or in my case felt very comfortable. It felt like home. Some observations: the proprietor/manager seemed to take extra care lighting candles around the establishment which was lovely. She also sprayed something perfumy around the rewhile we were drinking coffee. I am sensitive to smell and found that to be unnecessary. Caution: the bathroom is freezing. It is winter currently, but surprising since the restaurant is warm. As soon as you descend the few steps to the bathroom, the temperature drops 15 degrees. The water in the bathroom is also freezing.

So many great options including large calzones and pizzas with amalgamations of delightful toppings. I ordered what my cousin was ordering- just easier that way. For ~10€, I had a wonderful garlic based pizza topped with cheese and arugula. I didn't even realize it didn't have a red sauce until my cousin pointed it out. Typically, I am a traditionalist- I love my marinara sauce and find pizzas without it to be dry. I didn't notice the base because it was moist and delightful. I tried one of the calzones with three meats, equally as delicious. The restaurant is a Spanish chain with an emphasis on quality. The food is exceptional. The staff members were all very helpful and friendly. The chefs prepare food with gloves. The restaurant is clean, well lit, and welcoming. If you consume alcohol, I recommend finishing your meal with a shot of chilled limoncello.
