Because we're light eaters we only had appetizers and drinks. I ordered an apple-mint nonalcoholic drink, which was delicious. We got the bacon-cheese wrapped plums and the "lard" (smalec). Neither was huge, but both were adequate-sized and most important they were delicious. It was maybe the best smalec we've had out of the dozens of times we've had it over many, many trips to Poland, served with great crusty bread and pickles. The plums were six toothpicks of bacon and plum poked into slices of apple and cheese, with side splashes of plum compote and what we decided was a horseradish and egg sauce. Absolutely yummy and the service was good. If we lived in the area, we'd definitely come back and try their other offerings. (And they had a good crowd of locals: always a good sign.)

Our server did come over and was attentive initially, but that completely fell off throughout the time we had our meal. We did try their homemade glass of wine, and it left a lot to be desired. Even though she explained it was a dry wine, it still tasted sweet and it was thick. It even had a strong after taste similar to cough syrup. The Pilsner was nice and cold. We did try the tomato soup and the garlic bread, which was good. We also tried the Hungarian Pancake and the Casserole. I ordered Hungarian and it was very flavorful as was the Casserole dish. Did I absolutely love either dish, I did not, but it was good. I truly think this is going to be an individual preference. What I will tell you is, the food will take 30+ minutes to come out, as they say it can take 45 minutes at the bottom of the menu. Every restaurant I visited in the 10 days I spent in Poland featured homemade, fresh, never frozen, family-style food. This place is the best one of all ! In addition to the down-home quality of the food, restaurant prices are ridiculously low. Dinner for three adults (with leftovers taken home) cost 31.99 Zloty. That equates to about $9.60. Plus, the place is a charming little village restaurant.
