Before a couple of weekends ago, I hadn't been to Charles Dickens before 1am (they close at 3am, one of few bars on the south side of Stockholm that do this). But me and my sis were hungry and wanted to try the food here.
I had the classic "Plankstek", a grilled piece of beef, surrounded with mashed potatoes and topped with bearnaise sauce all served on a plank. Everything is heated in the over so the mashed potatoes gets little brown tips and so that everything gets delicious. If there is something I eat every time I'm home in Sweden it is this thing! I suggest you try it.
My sister had a Mediterranean burger with potato wedges. It looked good but you'd have to wait for her review to know if it really was.
Had a glass of red wine with my food which was good. Sister had the weekly beer which was huge! My first encounter with this place at dinner time had been a success and I was surprised that it was nearly empty. There was however people coming in all the time so while we were eating and drinking the place became more crowded.
If you on the other side go here after 1 am you will find a bar that is packed. There are hardly no seats but it is hella fun! I would suggest to try both, but maybe the same night. read more
