Seafood restaurants abound in Gothenburg, so it's difficult to make a choice! However, after reading reviews and speaking to the locals, I settled on this place for dinner one night- and I am so glad I did! It was a bit of a trek from my hotel, but an enjoyable walk nonetheless. Upon arriving, the place was busy, but we managed to snag a table outside. Although the inside looked very cozy, I was happy to sit out in the cool evening air. We were given menus, and our server told us the specials. We ordered beers for now, but planned on ordering wine with dinner. Asking the server for his recommendations, we decided to share the Garlic Gratinated Langoustines. For mains, I ordered the Fish au Gratin, as he said they were known for the dish, and my dining partner ordered the Catch of the Day, Cod Loin. We received our beers and then ordered a nice bottle of white to be served with dinner. They brought the langoustines, and they were absolutely incredible! Fresh and large, and tasty! We were also brought some yummy bread and butter. Our mains arrived and boy, was he right- the Fish au Gratin was absolutely delicious, the sauce creamy and not overwhelming the fish. The wine paired perfectly, and we enjoyed our dinners immensely. We ordered one dessert to share, as well as a glass of port wine. The dessert was odd; it had a cucumber taste to it, not a fan, but hey, it's nice to try new things. I think this restaurant has potential. I read some positive reviews, but my dish was off balance. I think it's an inconsistency issue because another table ordered my same dish and it looked different. Mine had an overdressed mustard vinaigrette which overpowered the fish. This was one of my favourite meals during my entire trip to Sweden and Norway. It is located in Haga, which is a great street to explore on the way. They have really great seafood options. I highly recommend reservations as it was pretty busy while we were there on a Sunday. The restaurant is a bit small and cramped, but I haven't seen the backyard. We shared the entree-size seafood soup and the seafood gratin. Not only did the dishes look great aesthetically, but both were also super delicious and filling. I especially loved the seafood gratin. It came out hot, with a delicious creamy seafood sauce and two generous servings of pomme duchess. The seafood soup had a generous serving of seafood in a tasty, light broth. It came with 2 slices of garlic bread too. Both dishes paired well with the complimentary bread basket they provided. I think these two dishes are perfect to share, as the soup is a bit on the lighter side and the gratin is heavier. Having half of each was the perfect portion. Service was friendly, but since it was so busy, it was a bit on the slow side and sometimes difficult to get the attention of the waitress. We were told by numerous locals to go here. I'm very picky when I eat and I know that. After yet another person mentioned it we tried to book. There was no space on the website but decided to go anyway. Thankfully, we got in. Right away I saw there were wine pairings and I'd read the reviews and was fairly certain I would want the herring because Im in Sweden so of course I wanted herring. Very cozy spot in the middle of HAGA. They have outdoor seating and two stories inside. Swedish style food, I had the white fish, which had a super light and fresh sauce and boiled potatoes. The fish dish was by far the best and was very authentic and generous portions! They have a salad buffet, it's a bit small and only two or three salads, the fresh bread was the best part. Great choice for seafood in Haga! The indoor restaurant is quite small, but there is a large and cozy backyard behind. I highly recommend making a reservation if you can, as we only barely slipped in on a weekend night. I tried the seafood soup, which was loaded with fresh fish, mussels, and shrimp. The broth was creamy without being too rich, and it came with amazing garlic bread on the side. They have a large wine list, but I had an elderflower spritz, which wasn't too sweet. We came here for lunch on a sunny summer day in Göteborg. He ordered the gravedlax plate and I the fisksoppa with a dry apple cider. Both dishes were fantastic - I liked the soup particularly as the fish (a mix of salmon, crayfish, and white fish) were cooked and seasoned perfectly in a flavorful and slightly creamy broth. Got here and was directed to the back yard. It is a cute cozy back yard with a cute little bar. The place apparently means sea bar because they are really known for their seafood. Some of the items have been on the menu for 15 years ( like the salmon). Menu is concise and makes decision making pretty easy. We decided to order the soup, the cod gratin and the smoked salmon and share everything. Swedish bread and butter was a nice way to start lunch. All the dishes were super rich and buttery, tasted good, but a little bit overwhelming for me. The soup was really good, had chunks of fish and shrimp in it, had a lot of dill which gave it an amazing aroma; again a little bit too buttery for me. The cod gratin was also really good, was cooked in wine. The smoked salmon was served with potatoes which were served in dill and a kind of buttery, hollandaise-like sauce. Cute little restaurant with an excellent seafood stew. It was rich with a large chunk of salmon, a couple of mussels plus some shrimp. Don't worry if the front is full, there is quite a large dining area out back. The Monday that I went was quite busy, so reservations are always a good idea. I don't like it much. The seafood soup I ordered is deadly salted. Even I eat more salted than average people. But tHis is too much salt!

Ate three course menu with a nice red on the outdoor covered patio. Rained the whole time but stayed perfectly warm with the wall heaters. No jacket needed. This is a very good place for seafood, quality dishes and reasonable prices (for Scandinavia). Seafood platters looked very good, but we opted for cod as main dish and it was excellent. Had the seafood soup as a starter, and surprisingly it had a basic consistency and flavour of a bisque but with shrimp, char, and vegetables, all of which combined very nicely in both flavour and consistency. Fish soup is also on the main menu. Cod is generally very good in Sweden, and the cod here is no exception. Wine and beer offers are good. Strongly suggest reservations. read more
