This is a restaurant in the Hotel Sackmann where breakfast is served and of course, dinner in the evening. Due to the Easter period there were a few more options available over and above, the normal stuff. It's quite a big place and has seating for over 100 people. They have a great cake counter with some delicious looking cakes. The Schwarzwälder Kirschtorte here is simply divine and deserves 5 stars :-))
We had breakfast here everyday and it was great. The selection was good and they made the best poached eggs I have had, in any hotel, in Germany, thus far. The selection of cheese is also excellent, as is the bread. The coffee is a bit ordinary but drinkable. The staff are super friendly and very helpful.
We had dinner here once on Easter Sunday and it was fully booked out with hotel guests and locals, coming for dinner all dressed up. They had a special Easter menu and you could choose from multiple three course menus, a la carte and, there was a buffet set up for salad and cheese, if you wanted either of those things. Dinner service was a bit slow but it was also a very busy evening.
All in all a good place for a meal. Nothing has wowed me so far but, the ambience is nice and the food is quite ok. It's a bit more on the pricier side but good. The decor is a bit dated but then the place has a 70's look about it :-) read more
