Near the beginning of the year I came in around 6pm. The place seemed Clean, but not too Bright. Sort of like lounge lighting. Friendly service. The Meat sticks looked nicely seared so I was looking forward to a nice snack.
Of course I ordered Lahmacun. If you know Lahmacun, then you know the bread/dough is important. "World of Kebap" gets it right on the money. The dough is cooked in a large wood burning oven in the middle of the restaurant. It came out ever so slightly charry, giving it an initial crunch on top of the slightly chewy goodness. The relishes and condiments were fresh and flavorful, but did not overpower. I added a little dry chili at the table.
The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because of the meat or should I say, lack thereof. Like I said, I've been around and had my fair share of Lahmacun. Usually I end up with almost too much meat and the guy making it seems to exert some effort rolling it up. Here, tonight, not so much. I'm not saying I need a pound of Donerfliesh, but somewhere in the middle would be nice.
I would definitely go back. You can check my other reviews for similar cuisine nearby.
