There is a great view of Lake Geneva from the hilltop during our walks. Be mindful of the incline walking to the hotel. Hotel is located by a bus stop. The place was neat. The front desk staff was nice. There is a restaurant with great food. They accommodated us and allowed us to order and eat you arriving 10 mins before closing. We explained we were extremely hungry from our train travel.

They really ought to spend a few of those francs on the rooms, however. Uncomfortable beds, rock hard pillows, faulty plumbing in sink and shower, flimsy towels. Also, they have an large security deposit for some reason - must be a doozy of a story behind that policy. Such changes would take this from a borderline 3 star to a solid 4 star hotel.

But overall, good, comfortable and silent. In the lobby area they have some drinks and snacks for sale. Good location, with easy access to public transportation, and getting to the "downtown area" is within a 10 min walk.

A very enjoyable evening at Vieux Lausanne. Three of us were passing through and found this place…read moreby chance. We split the deer carpaccio as a starter, which was wonderful - tender thin slices of meat with arugula, walnuts, and walnut oil. Two of us had the rib steak, which was a thin boneless ribeye and cooked to order, medium rare in my case. Served with three sauces: black olive, basil, and spicy red pepper. Tender and flavorful. Lovely bottle of local red wine, lighter in color but full flavored. Excellent service, highly recommended!
