This store and manager has shady and unethical practices. I purchase an item and within two days, went to return it because it didn't fit. The manager told me the item was nonrefundable, although I had no idea, and that was never stated upon me purchasing the item. He was extremely rude, dismissed me, and ignored me upon my request. I would never recommend anybody ever shop here ever again. This all could've been resolved with much clearer communication and helping me return my very simple item. read more

This place has the worst customer service of anywhere I've been. Cashier is just standing around staring and then finally saying oh are you ready? Are you just standing in line next to me with the cart waiting for someone? They constantly give you attitude they're always out of stock on staple items like salt. I am a simple truck driver delivering a load. Was met at the delivery door by a absolutely unprofessional employee. She swung the door open and almost hit me with it. I can absolutely tell she was having a bad day it if was only 630 in the morning. I joking said man can I tell you a joke or something to cheer you up? And she said "not by your fat ass" absolutely unprofessional. Come to find out Lisa is the store manager. If that is how the store manager treats people imagine how this store is ran. I've been shopping here for 3 years and have always had a good experience. Everyone from the fridge stockers, cashiers and management are very helpful and nice. Prices are good, food is quality and their are many options. They have a yearly event with vendors. They also have sidewalk sales. You can return stuff and get a refund or a credit. I am so glad there is a restaurant depot In Utah. read more

Not sure what happen, but the lady that quit and now back has the worst customer service, they should NOT have rehired her back, got to the store one min before 4pm on Saturday, called and told them I was coming this lady just started screaming we are closed we are closed, very rude and disrespectful, they really need to get rid of this person. I always try to be nice to these people in here as she is always complaining about how she hate working at restaurant depot, but she left and came back. Please fire this person or let this person is she quit. I really hope this is read by Sr. management, who can do something about this person. times are hard right now and we as restaurant owners are try hard to stay open, we take all kind of abuse at the restaurant some times, we really don't need it here when we come to shop. especially those of us that really try to go out our way and be nice to these employees, not all employees are like this person, but one apple really is spoiling the bunch. All you need is a business license and you can get a no cost membership. If you have anything to do with the food or hospitality industry, a membership here is a must. Prices for bulk items are incredible! The bulk items here is not like bulk at Sam's or Costco, these are items specifically for the restaurant industry. They have everything from deep fryers to napkins and every food item imaginable. Their selection of dairy and frozen products is huge and a whole warehouse full of dry items and hardware. They even sell uniforms, shoes, aprons and other industry apparel. The only downside to this place is that sometimes the help is not so pleasant. So far, after numerous visits, the workers are either the most friendly you'll find or quite rude. Plenty of nice folks working there though to make up for the few who aren't. The manager is great and will go out of his way to make sure you're taken care of. read more

Luckily I go shopping with my mom and get to use her membership card- when I do I go HAM in there because everything's great quality and in bulk. You can find eeeeverythung needed for restaurants, catering, big parties, reunions, etc... a bonus, employees are helpful and lines move fast. read more

I shop here regularly and today there card processing was down. They had a small sign saying cash or check only at the entrance. I picked up my checkbook and went in and asked a staff member if they except checks and they said yes so I picked out my products. I checked out and wrote a check they took it and said the check doesn't match the business name on the account. I asked the manager if she could except it and when she said no I asked why there wasn't someone there to explain the situation. She got angry and told me I should have known all of there company's policies before opening my account and it's not her job. I asked her why she can't just apologize instead of getting mad. She told me she did nothing wrong. Anyway it's unfortunate this particular restaurant Depot doesn't have higher standards for there employees but if the manager is doing the hiring it explains a lot. read more

HR lady set up an interview with me through an online job site. I arrived just to get told they JUST got word that they are reducing hours & not looking to hire anyone.. Time stamp was at 1 PM. Fine.. I just would have liked some communication before I drove 25 miles just to get told "sorry" & that they just got the word about it.. There are other great restaurant supply stores around, please consider them. I walked in and asked a tall, bald gentleman if I needed a membership to shop there. Immediately felt like I was putting him out, he asked about my business name and repeated it back several times, almost mocking it. He dished out a little more attitude before taking me to a counter to get the paperwork. He then asked me if I had a copy of my business license and tax ID, (I'm a new business owner so this is all new to me), I said I have my entity number, he replied "that means nothing to me." After all the attitude I could stomach I walked out and told him I will shop elsewhere. Please shape up, it's 2016, some customer service training is readily available. read more

I own a Sushi Bar and for the most part this place is a great place to shop for your needs for your restaurants, but there are some items that are still cheaper if you go to Costco or Sam's Club. I would give this place a 5 star if they price matched but they dont. read more

I have owned small restaurant and baking businesses for 12 years. I shopped at Restaurant Depot for 8 years before moving to Utah. I was delighted when I learned they were building one in Salt Lake City. Although the salt lake city's warehouse is smaller than others I have been to, there is a wonderful selection in every department: meats, cheeses, frozen, canned goods, packaging items, beverages, produce, and cleaning supplies. It truly is a great place to get all of your support materials for your food based business. I find the produce is a little pricey on a wholesale level. However, the meat selection can't be beat and the prices are incredible. The monthly sales mailer generally contain something that I need for supplies. The sale prices are great deals. As a small business owner, I find RD my first choice for supplies rather than dealing with the big pricey mentality and minimum requirement of the larger suppliers. The staff are down to earth and not pretentious at all. They have assisted me over the years in resolving occasional conflicts with no trouble whatsoever. The atmosphere is friendly, casual, and easy and the staff are more than willing to answer any question you might have, retrieve any information you might need, or assist with any process you might need better understanding on regarding tax exempt forms, membership information, etc. Your membership card works at any RD across the country. read more

Love this store! Just wish they had one in Utah county! This is a restaurant owners dream come true except for the terrible lazy customer service. There was one cashier and 3 other "employees" either catching up on their daily drama or eating a whole red bell pepper like an apple!!!! If you're going to chow down on a huge bell pepper go in the back because no one wants to see you chomping on that! The guy employee was doing everything own and the other girls were watching. If you have to go on break then at least go in a break room so it doesn't look like you are being lazy and non observant! We used to go there on a weekly basis to buy supplies, but after our experience just recently, we don't plan on ever returning. We bought an open sign on Friday because our previous open sign started malfunctioning. We put up the new open sign on Sunday and turned it on. It worked just fine. However, once the day had ended, we noticed a small portion of the sign had begun to melt. We boxed it up and attempted to return the sign. A co manager (a lady with dark hair) told us that she couldn't give us a refund or accept it back because they don't sell used products. It had only been 3 days since we've bought the sign and they wouldn't take it back because their product they sold had been used/defected. She continued on and said, "this is not a store, this is Restaurant Depot." Then she told us to contact the manufacture ourselves to get it resolved and attempted to walked away. We asked her for the manufacture's information and she told us she would help us look it up on her phone if we didn't have a phone to do it ourselves. Rudest co manager I have ever spoken to.
