We had to start with the classic French Onion Soup au Gratin, which was served with a thick layer of cheese and was piping hot. Great way to warm up on a rainy evening. Our server suggested I try the Shrimp Salad with green beans & avocado. It seemed like an odd combination of ingredients, but oh was I wrong. All the flavors and textures popped. The butterfly shrimp were incredible. As someone who loves Mussels, I met my match with the entrée size bowl served in creamy white wine sauce and with french fries. I made a gallant attempt to finish it, but fell short. It was a feast and cost only 34 Euros. My daughter met her match with the French Minced Potato Casserole au Gratin. Super rich and delish. The portion was huge, almost appropriate for family style dining. I wish I could bring this restaurant back to the United States.

I was going to mention it, when he poured again. So, I thought maybe it was a regional difference in service. When the bill came, they charged for every tiny pour. I don't know if this is a house policy or if the waiter made that decision. It didn't ruin the evening, it was just the only disappointment. You decide if that matters.

They said the next available seating would be an hour, so I happily took the 8pm. I was shocked to see how empty the restaurant was, though when I arrived! I opted for the 5 course tasting menu which was the smaller of the two. Glad I did because their portions are quite big here for a Chef's Tasting Menu. The food was good, but no standouts of the night. There was nothing in particular about the entire meal that impressed me. However, the dishes were colorful and beautiful! What I REALLY enjoyed was the wine pairing. Each glass complimented each dish perfectly. If only they served it in a timely manner... so not a Michelin experience, IMO. Service was all over the place. I wasn't really checked on and one dish a server just came by and took it away without asking If I was done... and no, I was not done. They didn't really time my wine pairing with the meals which put me off. Not sure how Michelin rated restaurants in Germany go, but I was not really impressed with this one. Decent food, not so great service. If someone asked me to go back, I wouldn't be opposed to it... but certainly not a Michelin experience I'd recommend to anyone... just a restaurant to go to for a decent meal.

Great place for a formal business lunch or a romantic dinner. The restaurant also has a patio if you'd like to dine in open air. Not on such a busy road that it would be noisy and the hotel has columns and a courtyard that separates the restaurant from the street.

Add great au gratin potatoes and fresh vegetables and we reached "fantastic." The salmon and gorgeous local asparagus were outstanding. The decor and service alone make Ernos Bistro a place you will want to come back to. This charming bistro could hardly be more authentic with its wood panelling, pretty decorative lights and wine bottles, friendly staff and of course the ever present owner. However, it is first and foremost Valéry Mathis' French cuisine, based on great produce, skill and a certain 'je ne sais quoi' that makes the restaurant so popular with so many people. The bistro's specialty, fish, is often flown in from France, as are the wines. It's closed weekends, during the Christmas and Easter seasons, and during much of summer. Oh well...

She also has nice delicacies imported from France like jams, honeys, candies, vinegars (from l'Olivier),... Her croissants etc look great and the dough is imported from France as she cannot get the right butter to make it here in Frankfurt, I was told. I will definitely be back to try her lunch next time I'm in Frankfurt over lunch time (and have passed a cash machine beforehand, as she doesn't take inter ational credit cards. I passed by on a late afternoon straight from the airport).

Service was fantastic and the Dry Riesling was incredible. Date of visit: 9/6/2024…read more Not sure what to eat for our last meal in Frankfurt. We were pretty much done with German food so we went with Italian instead. Our first choice was located outside of Frankfurt, leaving only Quattro on the table. Our orders: - scallops with truffle: scallops were perfectly prepared and I thought the truffle shavings were pretty generous. The sauce however, was WAY TOO SALTY! Like...reallyyyy...you don't taste your cooking before serving it to paid customers? - Spaghetti Quattro with scampi, mussels, clams and baby calamari in white wine butter sauce: pasta was al dente. it was delicious with plenty of shell fish, BUT again, it was on the salty side. If the amount of salt could be toned down a bit, this would be a winning dish! - Spaghetti ala vongole: almost the same with the spaghetti Quattro above but with only clams. Sauce was not as salty which is awesome! - Lemon sorbet: served partially melted already. I hate melted ice cream and sorbet! BUT it was surprisingly good! I would never voluntarily order a lemon sorbet but we were not in the mood for a tiramisu or a soufflé that night. It was light & refreshing & exactly how we wanted to close our meal. House bread was served cold and hard. I hate cold hard bread. I had to ask them to warm it up. They did. On a side note: when we came, indoor dining area was empty. The waiter asked us to sit at the full patio without letting us know it's a smoking dining area. It was not fun being a second hand smoker for the next 90 minutes, so unless you are ok with cigarette smokes and/or a smoker yourself, do your lungs a favor a get indoor seats instead!
