After some bread and butter, the first course was sashimi salmon with a very nice, fresh salad (and not a small portion either)! We moved on to the main dish, which was a super soft and smooth slow braised beef with amazing gravy! For desert (please check the picture) there was ice cream with warm plums. Okay that was just the one experience of my meal. But it tells me this restaurant does good food! It is situated on a hill, in a former church or abbey. From the terrace you have a beautiful view on the village below. Inside there is no view (literally), probably because it's an abbey and how they were build? The lack of windows is not claustrophobic to me, the interior is very bright and it's pretty spacious (for a small room with approx. 10 tables).

Pictures show a fancy 'white linnen' part as well, but I think that is not used generally. Enfin, within a few moments of me sitting down, someone attended my table. What I noticed is that the staff is not shy to communicate with you in whatever language you try to speak (in my case: an odd and confusing mixture of German, Dutch and English). It gave me the confidence to at least try and order in German (and that's when the mixture happened). The food tasted very nice, the pepper sauce was peppery, the baked potatoes soft and buttery (and delicious) and I was happy to eat some beans 'n bacon combo (the bouquet) for a somewhat healthy balance. Yes. This is a good restaurant in Gemünd to visit. Food is good, prices reasonable (similar to nearby places). Oh and if it is a warm, sunny day: their 'Sonnenterrasse' is very pleasant!
