We should have trusted those truck stop instincts. The food was very unimpressive and typical of a tourist trap. The chicken with Reblochon sauce was over cooked with such a vengeance that even a hungry dog would have been challenged to choke it down. None of us could manage more than a partial feat in that regard. Two of us had the chicken and they were equally indestructible. The other had the savoyard place which consisted of local hams and cheeses. It was fine, but not remarkable. The desserts were also fairly forgettable. This place isn't the worst you'll have, but I'd only go if you're really hungry, it's late and you're trapped in Old Town. Hopefully that won't happen.

It was at the bottom of my five dinners that week, but it was still ok. I had the warm goat cheese salad (the goat cheese was outstanding), salmon in parchment (it was in TIN FOIL) and a lame "white cheese" dessert. I didn't really know what white cheese was, so my bad on that one. By the way, I still don't know what white cheese is... They had a pretty good English menu with translations of food items beyond what they were offering, which was pretty helpful. The people serving me were friendly, the girl didn't speak English but the guy did. I'm working on my French for next time, but they catered as best as I could ask to non-French speaking clientele. With all the restaurants in Annecy, I probably won't be back, but it was a fair meal for the price.

The menu offers a nice selection of traditional dishes from Savoie but also seafood and plenty of other options. We had the tartiflette, and the mussels. Both were very good and copious. Prices are reasonable, especially considering the quality of the food and the nice atmosphere of the place.
