Steak Palenque - Not feeling these crisped tortillas, they taste stale & have no flavor

The service is amazing, people are really nice and the place is really traditional Mexican decor. Prices are accessible for everyone, but they also have this cool promotions. You get every day, all day long 2x1 on all alcoholic beverages. As well, you can get your date's dinner for free on Friday evenings so that is definitively a plus! There are several cool areas within the restaurant to be in, the inside smokers place (my personal favorite), the regular non-smoking area, but then, they also good this cool terrace to be whenever the weather is nice. I would definitively recommend this place if you are a grill lover, grilled steaks specially are to love! MUST visit.

It was cooked perfectly & was very tasty, but I had to take the napkin that was wrapping the chips/crisped whole tortillas because my table didn't have napkins apparently. The weirdest thing would be that my steak came out faster than the ice cold flan. I was sitting there thinking, "I definitely didn't wait this long for my steak." **why don't you serve a medium rare steak on a sizzling skillet you might ask, well it's because if you cooked it right, then you stop cooking. Good thing I had a plate for the "chips" to use for my steak or it would've ended up medium well!**

It's a great place for both large and small groups, families, or even a business lunch. I have been there for both breakfast and most recently for a late dinner and enjoyed it both times. The décor is old school Mexican colonial. They have both a downstairs and an upstairs dining room. Both times I went I wound up upstairs which was not air conditioned, but still pleasant. Bathrooms were clean. The food is traditional Mexican. If you order coffee it will be "café de olla" which has cinnamon, pre-sweetened with piloncillo (raw sugar), and is prepared in a clay pot. So there is a distinct hint of clay pot in the flavor. Of course, they have soft drinks, and a couple of "aguas frescas" which are always refreshing. For dinner we had the parrillada which had grilled beef, onions, cheese, and a cheese stuffed bell pepper. It came with beans, tortillas (flour or corn) and chips and salsa. I tried all the salsas. One was habanero and will wake you up both when you eat it ...and remind you how spicy it was the next day! They have all kinds of "antojitos mexicanos," I recommend the gorditas with your choice of filling. Be prepared to put your conversation on hold for a few minutes and hear the "mañanitas" in full mariachi sound if anyone is celebrating a birthday. I enjoyed both my visits to Los Compadres and think you will too!
