    Pho Bo Tai

I was craving for some beef soup. So I contacted my friend, and she agreed to have a dinner with me at Nha Thrang. When we first arrived, we were worried that there would be no table available for us. But the owner was nice enough, to let us eat at one of the reserved tables \(^ ^)/ Our main goal was to eat the Pho, a Vietnamese noodle soup, which is a popular street food in Vietnam. But first we ordered an appetizer, Cha Gio; pork spring rolls with mild spicy fish sauce, served with sweet and sour sauce. Wow, what a proper spring roll. The ground meat was great and tasty. The rice paper wrap (homemade) was thin and crispy. Even though they were deep fried, I almost couldn't see any trace of oil on the plate. Now the main dish, the Pho Bò Tái (beef soup with thick rice noodles) came. Right away, we ordered extra coriander leaves, fish sauce, lime cuts, and slices of fresh small chili. Now before I move on, let me remind you, do not ruin the soup by adding sriracha sauces, that is not how you eat pho. For sauce use only fish sauce. Okay, The soup was delicious, sweet from sugar and sour from vinegar like a typical of Vietnamese soup. The meat was tender, plus the coriander leaves aromatic smell made it special. I thought the portion was well balanced, not too many veggies, meat, or noodles. For the drink, well... a pot of warm tea. ^^ Overall everything was great. PS. Open only from 5pm

Bahn cuon - steamed rice sheets filled with mince pork, fungus, topped with crispy onions, served with bean sprouts and fish sauce

This was highly recommended by a colleague who is Vietnamese. We came here especially for their pho bo tai - the Vietnamese national dish of flat rice noodles served in a light but rich tasting meaty broth with slices of raw beef, accompanied by lots of fresh herbs, bean sprouts and lemon. We came here on a night when they were also serving a slightly different version of pho, pronounced a bit like "bom buoy wei", which mainly differs in the broth. I was also pleasantly surprised that they have this amazing starter called bahn cuon - lightly steamed rice sheets filled with minced pork and fungus and served with bean sprouts, crispy onions and fish sauce. This is usually a tricky dish to make as it has to be prepared fresh, which this restaurant did perfectly! I would definitely come again and would like to rate it higher as I think we caught them on a busier than usual day!

Although it is pretty expensive when you compare prices back to the states, I would say the prices are quite reasonable for Copenhagen.

So I don't really have any standards on how good a Banh Mi is supposed to be. I had marinated pork banh mi and ginger tea for lunch. I ordered the pork one because it said it has honey in it. I love honey hehe. However, I could not taste any bit of honey in it... I feel like they could be more generous on the amount of meat. I'm a carnivorous eater, and I like to taste a chunk of meat in my mouth. I'll say Banh Mi was average, I wouldn't say it was remarkably amazing. For the ginger tea, the taste of ginger is really stong, so I guess they put a good amount of ginger in it. Again, I expected honey as it said it has honey.. I think it is a good drink in winter or when you're having your period, but I believe you can make this at home. It is a good drink that will keep you warm when you're wandering in the street

Cute little addition to the many many eateries on Elmegade. The shop is clean and well decorated,…read morewith easy to read signs. You can order from one of four sandwich options: the classic pork, a beef, chicken, or tofu sandwich. Then it's made to order while you wait. You can watch the assembly since all the ingredients are lined up behind the counter. The pork sandwich I had was pretty good, but could have been a little more generous with the meat. Bread was crusty on the outside and soft/chewy on the inside, like a baguette is supposed to be. It's a good size for lunch. It's not the best, it won't blow your mind, but it'll satisfy the banh mi craving. There are other banh mi places in Copenhagen, but this one has a convenient location and you can walk to the lake to enjoy your sandwich. I don't think there's seating inside, but there are outdoor benches. They've also got a small display of snacks, and grocery items like vermicelli and vietnamese coffee.
