This is a great restaurant in a fun part of Santiago…read more I have been enjoying pisco cocktails throughout Chile, and the cocktails here were fantastic. Over a couple of visits I was able to try: La Enjundia De Diablo, Cotrabando, Temporada, and Pisco is in the air. Truthfully the first two were preferred, more spicy than sweet. The second two were like smoothies with alcohol-also delicious, just hot differently. They were well presented and fabulous. For meals we had the steak and chimichurri, good if you love a big steak- a little too much for us. The beef and lentils were delicious and perfect for a cold winter evening. The next meals we tried were the cuttlefish croquettes which were very good, like a Japanese octopus ball. Great sauces. Then the fish of the day-Hake- with whipped potatoes(I think) and capers with veggies-outstanding. We also had a very good, filling, fish sandwich. I liked the sweet potatoes, a unique touch. The service was attentive without overdoing it. The first night when we came in everyone said hello, which made us feel very welcome. The atmosphere was fun, hipster, and inviting. So glad our hotel was nearby, couldn't have asked for a better restaurant to be near.

Really liked Chipe Libre! Our first lunch at this spot was delicious. We went with the daily lunch…read morespecial (chicken curry or fish and salad). For a very reasonable price, you also get a pisco sour, water/soda/wine, an appetizer (fried cauliflower with beets), and coffee. The pisco sour was very refreshing and tart. Food was a good sized portion as well and tasted light and not too heavy. The lunch special isn't listed in the menu so don't forget to ask about it! Ambiance is really cute inside and they have nice outdoor seating as well.

By far one of my favorite places to indulge. In California my go-to meal was a burrito, here it is…read morea sanguche peruano. It is delicious, cheap, and....delicious. Although I selfishly want to keep this a secret, I will let you Yelpers out there know...Many Santiaguinos go to the always-packed Donde Guido on Merced not knowing that a couple of blocks down is an almost always, *nearly empty*, Donde Guido on San Antonio. Why is this important?? Well, I am a vegetarian and although there are 2 vegetarian options on the standard menu...I am not a big fan of any of them. So, through a *very* arduos trial and error process, I found my perfect vegetarian Peruvian sanguche. The only problem is, because the Merced branch is always packed the cooks and waiters never let me create my own sandwich. Meanwhile, San Antonio has empty tables and ready to fill them with my "special" order. A tip for everyone: I highly recommend adding the salsas to your sandwich, that is what gives it the knock-out taste! My favorite is the olive sauce (aceituna), if you want a stronger taste you can add garlic (ajo) and if you like spicy, I recommend the "aji amarillo" (somewhat spicy) or "rocoto" (really spicy). However, if vegetarian isn't your thing, there are tons of options such as the traditional "chicharrón" (fried pork) or "lechon" (suckling, roasted pig). You can almost never go wrong with these delicious sandwiches served on warm freshly baked bread.

This Donde Guido on Sanantonio is located literally like 3 blocks down from the other Donde Guido…read more This one however serves the traditional Peruvian sandwiches as well as all the Peruvian plates such as Aji de Gallina, Ceviche, all the yummy pasta dishes. They have two floors, personally I find the second floor way more appealing. On the first floor you have to deal with people coming in and out the entrance as opposed to the second floor which is much quieter. Also on a cold day it really sucks to have sporadic drafts of cold air while enjoying their dinner. At Donde Guido they serve the traditional Peruvian pisco sour which is always a treat. Their service is usually really attentive. I wouldn't recommend their ceviche, it's not bad but I would say it's the freshest I've tried. I always enjoy the pasta dishes which is a fusion of Chinese and Peruvian food.
