My girlfriend and I stopped off here while driving from Montreal to Gaspesie for a week of camping. She's a vegetarian and walking around Rimouski it appeared that there were really only two options: pizza and here, Parfum de Corée. We sat outside - it was abit nippy but inside it was very hot and uncomfortable to sit and eat. While I don't remember what we both ate, I held onto the business card for more than a year since our visit. Better late to give props to a great restaurant than never. I'll mention briefly that they had a lovely selection of teas with a 'menu' to go with them which described each of their flavours and potential health benefits. If I pass through Rimouski again I'll make it a point to eat here.
English: As someone who has enjoyed a lot of Korean food in the US, and although not the best I've had, it is authentic. I was pleasantly surprised to find food like this in Rimouski, and was honestly expecting much less than what it ended up being. The place is cute, and I would recommend parking on the side if you're there on a weekday after 6pm as there is 90 minute free parking. The servers aren't Korean, but I do think the owner or chef is. The prices are steep, but it makes sense considering how difficult it is to get these ingredients out here in Rimouski. The portions, however, are significantly smaller than any other Korean place I've been (except for the bibimbap). I wanted to give this place 3 stars because I didn't love the food as much as I usually do Korean but I have to keep in mind the context of Rimouski and I think it deserves props for what it does here. Here's what I tried: -Takoyaki: 7.5/10 - Crispy on the outside, warm and gooey on the inside, topped with a savory sauce and mayo. The octopus pieces on the inside are a bit rubbery (as all octopus is), which is just not my personal preference, but they were good! -Bibimbap (with bulgogi and gochujang): 8/10 - The egg on top was perfectly runny, and there were so many vegetables on top (more than even some other Korean places I've been in the US!). They don't have as much freshness and flavor as I would prefer, though. The meat portion is very small, so just keep that in mind. The bibimbap comes out in a hot bowl so the rice on the bottom gets nice and crispy, and the gochujang sauce adds some good flavor on the side. -Dak-Kal-Bi: 6.5/10 - I wanted to get excited about this, but I was disappointed a bit by the flavor profile. I needed more flavor, but it was still foods. The chicken had a bit of a spice to it that I enjoyed, and the rice was perfectly steamed. It came with 3 banchan (Korean side dishes), which I did thoroughly enjoy. read more
Parfum de Corée is an authentic Korean restaurant offering vegan options in Rimouski. There are dedicated vegetarian and gluten-free sections on the menu, and the staff can point out which are vegan. The food is healthy, fresh, and flavorful. Portion sizes are on the small side. The restaurant was quite busy for a Tuesday night during COVID. Reservations recommended. I had the sundubu-jigae (soft tofu stew) with vegetables, enoki mushrooms, shallot, and doenjang (thick fermented soybean paste), which came in a dolsot bowl with a bowl of rice and 3 banchan (small side dishes): seaweed salad, garlic chives, and black beans. read more

This is the real McCoy folks! I was pleasantly surprised to find this gem! Let me preface that I've been to Seoul twice and have enjoyed eating at some of the best Korean in Toronto, Montreal, Vancouver, California and the quality and authenticity rivals any of these places. Just one point of mention, their menu of authentic dishes is smaller as the Rimouski people are just warming up to Korean! No kalguksu or dok boki but they have a decent selection! Tonight I went with the bibimbap table d'hote. It was bloody cold out so a nice stone bowl with hot Korean food was just what I felt like! It came with an entree and the owner as I talked to her was kind enough to bring me some banchan as a starter. Let me say the flavour, freshness. And taste was fantastic!! It even came with enoki mushrooms! I was thinking seriously where do the get enoki mushrooms in Rimouski! Price was a little on the higher side compared to what you pay in Toronto ($40 before tip) but it was excellent! I will come again! Thank you for pleasantly surprising me! read more

the food was very salty. We also ordered takiyaki and the octopus inside was ice cold. This was the only asian restaurant in the area but we would not recommend it at all. read more
