You'll see local French families and few tourists. The rose wines of the region are traditional with this popular yet inexpensive dish. The terrace overlooks this small historic village with its community gardens and chateau where Pablo Picasso spent the last decade of his life. I see why he chose it! Picasso's chateau is still privately owned and closed to the public, but on a side street visit the source spring of one supply of the delicious water of Aix-en-Provence. There is an infrequent smaller country bus from the center of Aix that drives through the center of this village, so you don't need a car. If you want to take any couscous home from the sumptuous hand-painted clay pots on your table, bring your own plastic containers and bag. "Take out" is definitely not the goal of the leisurely charm-filled atmosphere of the Couscoussier.

Our first dinner we shared foie gras (the absolute best!) and I had bouillabaisse and my friend HS grilled sea bream...everything superb! The next night we both had beef...I had a sirloin and my friend had filet. Both grilled and served perfectly. Our 3rd night was a bit challenging because it was a Saturday night and we had no reservations. We showed up at their busiest time, and realized that they could have easily turned us away. They didn't, but asked us to come back in 15 min to allow a table to finish. No problem. We were so happy to have dinner with these fine people and enjoy their delicious meal one more time. A generous amount of linguine noodles were topped with salmon in sauce and decorated with 4 mussels. The pasta was nice and al dente and I quite liked the sauce, it was nice and mild and too salty.
