As a friend lives in the area and is a militant smoker, always the first stop for an evening of beers. You definately have a colorful mix of the "locals" here and although it's not an "in" place, you get your share of Ottensen's yuppies. It's a fun place though and tends to now be quite full as it is a smoker's hangout. If you enjoy your smoke first- or second-hand, worth checking out if in the area.

The bowl portion came with an entire smoked sausage and was a large portion. The rump steak was as good as it can be. The beef remoulade was not rolled but thin sliced cold beef served with some onions and a mild horse radish sauce. My companion enjoyed the herring plate. Four types of herring. I used to live in Frankfurt back in the 80s and love German cuisine. I am from Galveston Tx but all the quote unquote German Restaurants suck. The only one hat was great unfortunately closed. They didn't have the oopa music and wait staff dressed in lederhosen. So anytime I come back I will eat here. Food is great
