      This is a great restaurant tucked away by the western side of the church, just across the river…read more It has ample outdoor seating, in a beautiful setting with tables set into a gardens worth of plants, all resting in the shadows of the church. The beer here is great. I strongly suggest the strong beer and Dunkel. If you get the strong beer it comes in an awesome mug, which you can by for 5 euro. The food is varied, not monster portions, but delicious and well plated. We all ate off each others plates and the venison, pork medallions, and pork shoulder are all great. Mine seemed a little dry, but there was ample beer sauce on my plate and when I ran the meat through it it made a perfect bite. You may not easily find this one, but it's worth the hunt. And they have English menus available if requested.

Prices are higher level too but here you get what you expect for the more money spent. The menu offers a variety of steaks, local dishes and also vegetarian food. The prices are above average - so the quality and the service is. We had braised pork shoulder with potato dumplings served in dark gravy. It was served with a salad as side dish. The other time we had Nuernberg grilled sausages and Steak. Utmost delicious. The only downside is the parking lot situation which is really bad. So be aware to either have a short walk or try to use the bus (which might be difficult). When sitting outside, be aware that this location is not far away from the Nuernberg Airport - so sometimes planes will fly by and it might get a little louder. So here´s my ranking - as always from 0-10 (whereas 10 is best). For the mains, I've had their braised pork shoulder, which was stellar, and beef tenderloin, which was very good. I was told by my local colleagues at one of the dinners that the braised pork shoulder is as good as it gets in Franconia. Definitely recommended.
