I've eaten fish all over the world and this restaurant serves some of the best fish dishes. I only pretty much only get 2 plates here whenever I am in town. I either get the paella for 2 or the Bacalhau de Toca (cod dish) for 2. The bacalhau de Toca is always my first choice. They cook the cod in a tomato broth with onions, tomatoes, hard boiled eggs, potatoes and olives in a clay pot. The flavor is fantastic and the fish is tender and melts like butter when you bite into it. They give you a side plate of rice (the rice changes each time that I go but it's not white rice) to go with this. The mixture of everything together is unbelievable. The paella plate is gigantic and is enough dinner for like about 4 days. I've tried a lot of the main courses (prato principal) here but those two are my favorite and my go to dishes. For an appetizer, I suggest either the oysters or the bolinhos de bacalhau (Deep Fried balls of cod). They give you lime to go with the bolinhos de bacalhau and the breading they use is fresh and light. This restaurant is, in my opinion, the best in Florianopolis. They are not open for dinner on Sundays and not open on Mondays so schedule wisely. I will say that you will be paying quite a bit when you come here but it is one of the places to splurge.

It's seems like it's the point to got for good and *a lot* of sea food. We got the Salmon with mango sauce. It was a huge piece of Salmon with a ton of mango purée texture sauce on top of it with a enormous salad on the side. It serves two people very well. Because mango sauce is very tick and there is too much of it. I would suggest asking to have the mango sauce of the side which is also nice to have some with the rice that comes with it. There is one small section on the menu that are for one person. The rest of the food menu is all to share, good for two very hungry people or maybe three. We were were in 6 people at the table. We also asked for fries and Xadres chicken which is nothing more than fried chicken bites also good to share among 4-6 people for appetizer it come with a mayo Ali ole on the side and French fries just a reminder that the portion as *huge*. One person at our table asked for the stake with mustard sauce which came with more potato fries in ball shape, those were excellent!! Overall the food was good and nothing to complaint about.

The Toca de Jurere in the Centro was closed for renovations at the time and since I was in town, I needed to get my fix in. My fix being the paella and the Bacalhau de Toca. At this time of the year, we needed reservations but we were able to score some earlier in the evening. The main problem that I have with this location is that it's so far out of the way and it's really really hard to find. Seeing how we were staying in the center of Floripa, the cab ride was quite long and seeing how it was New Years, the ride back was even longer. The good thing was that the food was fantastic and completely filled me up. I need to take a small nap after my girlfriend and I destroyed the Bacalhau de Toca and a bottle of wine. However, we did make it out for New Years later in the evening.
