There was a fair amount of bread, which was the only redeeming quality. The assortment of meats was not great, only a little prosciutto and the rest were very fatty and off putting in aesthetic, texture, and taste. The raspberries that accompanied the meat plate were underripe, very sour, pale in color, and left me grimacing. I ordered a shrimp salad which you would think is impossible to mess up. Unfortunately, I was proven wrong. The shrimp were served head on, but only half had tails for whatever reason. Overcooked was an understatement. These were bitter mush and so small once you took off the heads, plus there were only 4. The salad must've had no oil and just balsamic plus more of those horrible raspberries. My friend ordered a tuna steak which was about as cooked as canned tuna, but with less taste. Somehow the veggies were mushy and over cooked as well which shouldn't have been a surprise. It desperately was begging for salt. The wine was fantastic, highly recommend. From the region and it was called bico amarelo esporão. Once again I want to emphasize the servers were very attentive and it wasn't their fault the food sucked. We ordered seafood but I have mad beef with the chef(s).

Once up the stairs you have a nice view of the promenade, and the surroundings. We were quickly seated and warmly greeted by the staff. They seem to serve by committee here so we met numerous staff members during our meal. The service was quick, efficient, and obviously worked well together. We ordered a shared salad, the lovely K had the steak, Portuguese style and I the Pasta Puttanesca, along with a bottle of wine. The young man who brought us the wine was very nice, asked us how we had enjoyed our trip thus far and told us a bit about himself. Very well done. Our salad was delivered by another person along with the usual white vinegar, extra virgin olive, but also balsamic vinegar which is always an appreciated touch. Our dinners arrived piping hot, especially K's which was bubbling merrily when set down. The steak was a little on the chewy side, but the potatoes were super crispy and the gravy really good. The Puttanesca was good, not great, but was plentiful and well cooked. While we likely won't go all four nights we are in Portimão, but we will be back at least once more.

THIS was the type of seafood meal we were anticipating all throughout our trip, and it certainly felt like we saved the best food for our second to last day in Portugal as we dined here. We ordered the Arroz de Marisco, Arroz de Tamboril (monkfish), and one giant (truly, COLOSSAL) tiger prawn, and all were absolutely phenomenal. The staff were also so helpful and sweet--I had no idea how big the tiger prawns were, so I tried to initially order 3 (one for each person), and our waiter kindly persuaded me out of that, and brought out a prawn so we could see how truly massive they were. The tiger prawn was grilled to absolute PERFECTION, and both rice dishes were impeccably seasoned. I also ordered a small bottle of vinho verde, but given there was no drink menu given, was a bit curious about what we'd be charged. To my delight, the small bottle was only €6, and was absolutely delicious! This was by far our best meal in Portugal, and we thought it was also incredible value for how delicious everything was.
