Sorry... I don't like writing low-star reviews... but this restaurant wasn't to my taste! We went on a camping trip to Lac Aux Sables, and this place was roughly the mid-point, and a good time to take a rest stop. One of our friends who we were travelling with (Please understand that during COVID measures, the other couple we travelled with was in their own trailer!!) - he absolutely loves "steamies" from this place. This is how they refer to their hot dogs. They chose the stop, so this is where we ended up. They have outdoor seating in the form of 2 tables just outside the shop, which was greatly appreciated especially during the pandemic! I have not been inclined to eat inside a restaurant since March; and it is now December! This is saying something. My heart really goes out to the service industry, who has had to be very creative to draw customers and stay in business during this unprecedented time!
I absolutely LOVE hot dogs! But not this way. They offered a special with 2 dogs in pasty-white bread, with tons of fries; I seem to recall this was about $8.00. The toppings were good, and so were the fries.... H'mmm Maybe good enough to bump this up to a 3-stars?! But their claim to fame is the hot dogs, so no can do. A better choice of bread would help. But it's fast food, so not likely to happen any time soon.
Our friends went back here on their way home... we did not. Sorry! read more
