It was thoughtful that Kent also created some separate files for us to enjoy the toasts and ceremony separately. The footage was edited super tastefully & had clear audio throughout the entire film. I was surprised with how many small moments he caught that I thought might get missed (e.g. reaction shots) so I was really pleased to see the final cuts. While I was really happy with the website they built for me, they also helped get me into the PPC world to help manage my Google Adwords campaigns. I had previously dabbled in PPC myself, but they fully analyzed my Google Adwords account and made improvements that really helped me get quality business leads without wasting money on useless traffic. It's been 11 years since the last time I wrote a review. What could possibly inspire me to want to…read morewrite a review after such a long hiatus? One word: therapy. I still remember the day I reached out to Esther requesting for her psychotherapy service. I had just ordered all these self-help books via Amazon that were piling up on my nightstand, but my mind was all over the place and I couldn't find a way to focus on where to begin. If you googled the phrase "woe is me", the top result would probably be a photo of me. I needed someone to help navigate me through my anxious thoughts, someone to provide me with the right tools that would let me better articulate my feelings, someone to boost my confidence, but most importantly someone to just help me get a grip on my entire mental wellbeing. Fortunately shortly after reaching out to Esther, she was able to take me in. I remember feeling wary coming into our first session. I had worked with a few other therapists prior to her, but I didn't feel like I got to where I needed to be with them. I remember during that very first session I was experiencing so much anxiety and overthinking so many events in my life. The simple question of "how are you doing/what is going on in your life?" sent me into a spiral and I remember just crying and pouring out so many bottled up emotions. By the end of our first session, we practiced a cognitive diffusion exercise together and I remember immediately feeling a sense of relief. I felt so much more hopeful than at the beginning of our session and that if I gave it more time I could overcome the mental obstacles that were holding me back. What really solidified my decision to stick with Esther was her hands on approach. With other therapists, we would have a full session of chatting, maybe do an exercise or two, and then pick up again the following week with nothing to hold me accountable with what we practiced. But with Esther, she would assign me homework that would consist of more than just reading. Her assignments would really challenge me to get out of my scared little comfort zone. Then the following week she would always follow up to make sure I really completed that homework. Six months later of consistent therapy with Esther, I can confidently say I am in a much better head space. She's provided me with so many tools that really helped build my confidence and foster a better relationship with myself through emphasizing the importance of self care and just really speaking more kindly to myself. It sounds so simple, but it honestly is a lot of work. I'm so glad I got through it with Esther. She has such a kind, compassionate, and most importantly a nonjudgmental demeanor. I always felt safe during our sessions and that I could speak my mind no matter how silly I thought I might sound. She really helped boost my confidence and made me believe in myself and that under all this "woe is me" there truly is an amazing lovable confident person.

What I noticed right away is that Esther is so warm - she really provides a safe space and environment that encourages you to open up. Outside of this, what I appreciated the most through working with Esther is that she helped me identify and "name" my feelings and inclinations. I know everyone is different and has their own experiences but this was such a breakthrough for me because it allowed me to understand ME better. She helped me identify my own thoughts and feelings which now allows me to take a step back to recognize and break out of certain tendencies. She gave me the tools I needed to work through my anxieties and I'm so grateful that I now have an idea of how to help myself. She was also my cheerleader and reminded me to practice and prioritize self-care - something I have always neglected but am focused on working on moving forward! For those who are also new to therapy, I would recommend giving it at least two+ sessions as it won't always feel comfortable or natural at first! I am now pretty shaken about the exchange I had. You can judge for yourself if you want her for your CPA. I tried to delete my review, but I was met with an error message. To be clear, I never asked her for a refund for what I paid her for her services. I never said quoting a price was illegal. I'm not sure why she said that, honestly. I think people that receive a service should be paid in full, which I did. I wasn't trying to skirt out of any payment. I was going to edit my entire review. Instead, I'm trying to delete a review at almost 1 in the morning because of this exchange I received and it completely ruined my whole night and happy wedding/celebratory mood and replaced it with unnecessary stress because she wanted the review removed before 3am.

I was in a panic, had no idea how to work with the IRS, and certainly had no way to pay the tens of thousands of dollars of past due taxes, interests, and penalties. Mr. Goldstein and his staff immediately put my mind at ease. I began to understand what the various steps would be, what documents I would need to file, and learned that the levies against my bank accounts would be lifted. The letters from the IRS stopped, and my anxiety began to calm down. Over a period of time, his staff collected all of the necessary documentation from the IRS so that we could file the missing returns. Although I had many questions, they were always patient and informative. Finally, they drafted an Offer in Compromise, which the IRS accepted. This saved me a very large amount of money. I couldn't be happier with the efficiency, supportive communications, and of course, the final result. Don't make the mistake of expecting a CPA to handle the complexities of dealing with the IRS; you need an experienced tax attorney. It's the best investment you could make.

When I realized that my resume was not helping maximizing my opportunity to secure more rewarding and stimulating positions, I was upset and somewhat stressed. I spoke with a trust colleague who indicated that he had hired Allan to help reposition his resume. He told me that Allan was forthright, honest, and hard-working and had a wealth of knowledge about today's standards for resumes and job search strategies. After I spoke with Allan, I recognized his passion and his willingness to help his clients. After he sent me the initial quote, he followed up with 2 emails during the next 2 business days that provided valuable advice related to job search. Once I paid the deposit and send him the information he needed (thank goodness he did not ask to me complete a stupid, cumbersome, lengthy questionnaire - just a resume, list of successes and job descriptions to positions that I want to apply), we scheduled the launch meeting. The process was easy; I could tell right away that Allan is very direct by nature - he is process oriented and his method of operating works well; it is all about efficiency and being well - organized for each conversation, always providing rationale for everything he writes and advocates. Before the final meeting, he sent me a PowerPoint presentation which was used as a basis point for organizing my job search. He said he had been just recently provided the PowerPoint because of recent feedback that indicated from clients that they preferred having the strategy in writing as opposed to just listening to what he had to say. Unfortunately, this person completely wasted my time. I should have surmised that his background (all over the place, and now he writes resumes?) would be a warning sign. Oh well, caveat emptor! Anyways, down to the facts: 1. Zero listening skills. Has a set way of doing things and not at all open to what the 'customer' thinks will work for him/her. 2. The initial resume I rec'd. from him made it obvious that he had little to no experience writing for technical and/or senior level positions. I had a close friend who is a Sr. VP of HR at a Fortune 10 Co. review what he did, and let's just say, she was confounded. I was too, is why I felt inclined to send it to her to validate. 3. Use of flowery and "salesy" language that would turn off any intelligent reviewer. If you are applying for a sales position, he could work. 4. Unpleasant and a very nonprofessional attitude. I was talking to him at our initial meeting in a cafe, and he started making overtures to a female employee that was cleaning up behind us...was a real turnoff and very uncomfortable for me!! On the positive: 1. He is very responsive (alas, what comes back is not worth reading). 2. Seems diligent but I do not think he has the necessary skill-set for doing resumes for senior level and/or technical positions. Bottom-line: I used a consultancy to do my resume and it turned out to be simply fantastic..intelligently written, technical language that made sense to an experienced reviewer, and more importantly, no BS! read more

I recently finished my resume-writing project with Allan and I am very pleased to recommend his services. Before contacting Allan, I'd tried a couple of other writers who required very large payments up front before even scheduling a first meeting that they said wasn't available for 2 months. When one of them either didn't reply to my emails or replied with answers that showed they didn't read my questions, I knew the fee and wait time couldn't be worth it. When I contacted Allan by email everything became very easy. He responds quickly, provides concise but thorough information about what to expect and shows the client respect by being responsive to their questions. I found Allan after searching for a professional resume writer on Google. I thought I had put together a great resume myself until I started sending it out and received very few replies even though my background seemed to be a great match to most of the jobs I was applying for. So I contact Allan because of his great reviews both on Yelp and on LinkedIn. He sent me a list of what he needed to start working on my resume. And people, this is the key to a successful resume: YOU must spend some time researching the type of work / industry you want to apply for and give Allen everything you can about your background, your accomplishments, and above all the skills and knowledge that sets you apart from hundreds of other applicants. I spent a whole day gathering such information for Allan. The end result: let me just say I have 3, yes folks, 3 job offers within 2 months of submitting my new resume, whereas it is currently taking the average person between 6-8 months to receive one job offer. I contacted a former colleague on Linkedin and asked him what avenue he used in order to get hired on at Northrop Grumman. Every few years I like to work with a professional resume writer. I found Allan on Yelp and decided to give him a try. Although I was told my resume looked great it was suggested that I have a professional resume writer take a shot at it. Fortunately for me I am located in San Francisco and was able to set up a face-to-face meeting with Allen for about an hour. Although this wasn't necessary because the same could have been accomplished with phone calls and Skype, etc. He asked all the right questions and was straight forward with me on all aspects. When I wasn't being productive she respectfully prodded me and got be back in action. Probably the greatest benefit was her mock interviews. When we found something worth pursuing she would interview me for the position using the job description as a guide, creating questions that were specific to the job. No introduction, a lengthy set of rapid-fire, shallowly-formed questions and a laborious, EXHAUSTING process of educating her about both the minutiae of being a C-level assistant across different industries in LA and the very well-documented current entertainment industry dumpster fire (completely accessible to anyone who occasionally checks the news). Er, hello to you too? The more information I provided, the more hostile she became. Despite providing no context for her call, she was incredibly offended when I asked to know more about her company (which virtually has no online presence, is located in SF and has no relevance to me otherwise). I tried to defuse and explain that her messages were pretty vague, that I of course wanted to learn more, but she claimed she was intentionally being vague. Uh, so why would I want to talk to YOU? She had reached out saying she wanted "to discuss the details of this exciting opportunity!" So you're a stranger on the internet, with no credibility, presenting yourself on lies? Yet I'm kindly giving you my slammed time, which is why I didn't even see all your e-mails. Rude. She never did discuss any "details." I was astounded that she seemed to absorb nothing despite a lengthy, detailed and organic dissertation that clearly fit the role even before I found out what it was. Despite admitting she didn't have any exposure to this industry, she then claimed that I wasn't qualified for this fishy "multi-media platform" that "was just getting started" in LA and the reason her "friend" who "owned the company" was panicking asking for her help. I WONDER WHY. Drained AF, I reiterated my points and tried to wrap the call. She then seemed to hesitate at her hasty (highly confused) assumptions and asked me for my resume. Severely dismayed at this point, a surprised laugh escaped my mouth. What baffles me is 1) HER own admission of HER utter lack of grasp of the entertainment industry 2) the gall to tell an actual relevant professional her (self-confessed, unqualified) opinion 3) the fact that SHE reached out to ME because of MY experience 4) DIDN'T READ MY LINKEDIN despite contacting ME. ON LINKEDIN. NOR ONCE THINK TO REQUEST MY RESUME (are you sure you're a recruiter?!), but was angry that I didn't know who the hell SHE was?! (LOL) 5) never explained nor seemed to know the point of her own call herself, and 6) after crystal-clear, thoughtfully detailed answers (where she continuously cut me off before I could finish, really), then deciding, with her limited toxic 1990s operation and understanding, that whatever compelled her to message me repetitively was also magically defunct. Do you even know what a reference is? If your friend knows no one in LA and they're supposedly such accomplished C-level execs, are they so helpless and ignorant that they do not know to connect to relevant and QUALIFIED executives and agencies, HERE? Don't YOU? So.. not just one, but two unqualified individuals who are not only lost in the weeds, but completely resistant to locating the most common-sense answers sitting right in your hands.. deciding who is qualified. Uh, okay. The network of C-level assistants here is tight, and we and our bosses talk, you know. If your company is a start-up that's new to the LA+entertainment bubble, most competent assistants will not want to work for toxic AND incompetent people, ma'am. The big names might be abusive, but at LEAST there are solid connections and advancements to suffer for. You need us more than we need you - enjoy the oncoming years of high turnover, lmao. This 17-minute ordeal was ill-organized, unprofessional, unnecessarily aggressive, dehumanizing, toxic and overall, archaic as shit. Even the most reclusive person (me) living under a rock under a pond is inevitably exposed to and can easily understand the gist of basic current events. The bare minimum of professionalism requires knowing why they're calling, being civilized, respecting peoples' time, LISTENING and not openly projecting such personal flaws. Before stumbling on all these questionable 5-star reviews, I fully thought this was a scam. After hopping onto the rest of my meetings for the day, I couldn't help but marvel at how much.. a wild blip in the Twilight Zone, this whole encounter was, in such stark contrast. Granted, Hollywood is brimming with crazies at every level, but this was still so horrifying to me. I am amazed that professionals so out of touch and so lacking in self-awareness are allowed to exist - the exact opposite of the reviews written about her own employees on here. Note no distinctly good mentions of Jen and consistent patterns in the hidden(!) scathing reviews. Whatever world operates in such defeatist fashion, you deserve better. Save yourself.

I have been working at Preply for 2 months now (May 2022). I have the most amazing team members and managers plus it's fully remote. I was also encouraged by the instructor to not attend coaching sessions that were part of the program/ included in the program. No one else received this type of treatment. I and another student were also forced to tutor other students in the program during class time. I am unclear why I was given this bullying. Additionally, I saw on the alumni chat group that some alumni posted photos of bikini-clad women in response to a female alumni's message, and this was not moderated by the whomever was controlling the chat group. I am incredibly disappointed in this program and will be filing a complaint with the BBB and FTC.
