Brought in a NES that was acting up. The team cleaned up the machine, replaced the 72 pin connector and got it working like new again. Had a hiccup with the machine when I brought it home, so I took it back. They were as friendly as can be and tested it with me to make sure everything was working as expected. We went to Retro Madness for the first time today. We were surprised by how much items they have in their store. I am a huge Star Wars, and Gi Joe collector so when I saw the Gi Joe items they had for sale I was extremely happy. We did buy a few things but unfortunately had to skip out on some of the Gi Joe items due to the item prices were higher then other stores we shop at. First, I'd like to say that the guy that repaired my N64 system was awesome. After running multiple tests, he determined that it was a power cable and took care of me. I have Epilepsy and my Golden Retriever was with me. He alerts me of an upcoming seizure. Just as he was ringing me up, the owner, Steve Cromer, came in and aggressively asked "Do you have paperwork on that dog?" I thought it was a joke. Assuming he meant on me, I answered "no." He then told me to get my dog out of the store. I said, "I'm sorry, I didn't see any signs." his reply was "I don't need any signs. This is my place of business, and I don't allow dogs." Instead of arguing with this mental midget, I put Cooper in the car came back in for the 30-seconds it took to complete my transaction and left. This store has everything from games to comics to toys. My family had a great experience looking through this HUGE store with an awesome inventory. It's not just new items either, you can find 90s toys like you would at any comic con. We will definitely be back. The only thing that was a little odd is that they have there employees constantly walking the store watching you like a hawk. In the hour I spent there, 4 different employees walked up and around me about 50 times which made us feel a little bit uncomfortable. Went out hunting for OG Xbox games and bought Splinter Cell at the Arlington location. Great condition CIB, but when I got home, the wrong game was in the case. I called back up to the store and they told me I was fine to bring it back and switch it out. I live in North Richland Hills, and I really didn't want to have to drive out back out to Arlington. I asked if I could exchange it at the closer Bedford location. They told me that was fine with them and to let them know to call the Arlington store to verify. Called up to Bedford and they informed me that they had a copy of Splinter Cell, and I could come switch it out. Great service and fantastic selection. Really went above and beyond to save me a lot of hassle, these guys are great! TL;DR: Bought a game and got the wrong disk. They let me switch it out at a location closer to where I live. My sons brand new Nintendo Switch was dropped and slightly damaged. The unit worked, the case was just coming apart on one corner. He was sick about it as he bought it with his own money and wanted it fixed. He found Retro Madness on the web and called. We took it in and they looked at it. Told us it would be $25 to fix it. They also said if they were unable to fix it, there would be no charge! We left it with them. About 4 hours later it was fixed. Looks brand new and everything worked. All for $25 which my son happily paid. When you walk in this place it's like stepping back in time. Old video games and toys from days gone by as well as all the new stuff. It's a Game Stop, without the corporate junk. It's a couple of hard working local guys doing what they love, very refreshing and lost in today's world! Great place! read more

So my son's Nintendo Switch stopped reading his games for no reason. He has had his switch for over three years, and I've always been concerned about it starting to breakdown. It finally did and I was looking anxiously everywhere to get it fixed. I found this place which was a little drive for me, but it was very much well worth it! They repaired it in less than 24 hours! The cost wasn't bad at all. The game reader had gone out so they replaced it with a 30 day warranty. I highly recommend this place if you need any gaming console repaired. I had a very near and dear console die on me, and these guys brought it back to life in less than a day after my horrible experiences elsewhere. They cut nice deals and manage to get some pretty insane inventory. Amazing products from a Mega Drive Megatron Transformer, to authentic Bucky O'Hare and Speed Racer action figures. This place has quality more than quantity, but it's also got great service, people willing to cut deals (they offered I didn't even bust balls), and were fairly knowledgable. I really appreciate the superb repair services more than anything. They revived my BC PS3 in a day and charged me a 1/5th the price I was quoted by another repair place. read more

I had recently turned in my switch to get it fixed and so I picked it up after it was done and guess what it did the exact same thing but guess what I still had the warranty receipt so I go back three days later I tell them what happened and he asks to see it and since I took off a sticker WITH NO WARNING WHATSOEVER THAT THIS KEPT THE WARRANTY I just declined the discount and I am writing this review now so guy at the front desk maybe next time warn that,that sticker kept the warranty I really hope they fix this problem because guess what someone can still open it and keep the sticker on its not rocket science all they have to do it align it and your fine so maybe be more smarter like idk maybe looking at the inside because most of the time you can tell when its been worked on and not and maybe warn your guest about that way you wouldn't be called scammers on the internet $110 down the drain read more

Stay far away from these scammers. Took my Xbox in when it had HDMI issues and was turning on and working fine. This was a couple days after the Xbox one x was discontinued. My Xbox was still turning on but after they "couldn't fix it" I brought it back home and it won't even start up anymore. I am 90% sure they used my One X for parts and left me with a broken motherboard. Either way these guys suck and did something that completely ruined my Xbox. If you value your items take them somewhere that has console repair professionals not antique trinket merchants. The dude didn't even know what a retimer chip was which I knew after 20 minutes of researching HDMI issues for the Xbox 1X. I regret leaving my device in their hands and you will too if you engage with these guys. read more

This place is awesome! My husband and I were a little tentative about going in at first but the staff was so friendly and they had such an awesome collection and great prices that we went back... a day later and drove an hour and a half to get to it! We got CIB games for all our old consoles and even picked up a few new {old} consoles, and they had amazing prices on accessories for newer consoles (such as the blue wii remote and nunchuck for $15 that other stores have no problem charging $35 for the remote and $15 for the nunchuck). This is one of the best gaming stores that we have ever been to, both of the staff members that we met were so knowledgeable about their stock and gave great game recommendations, and even offered to take a look at our consoles should they ever need to be repaired. We'll be coming back as often as we can make it out there!! read more

I really enjoy this place. I'm not really a toy collector but it is so much fun to look at all the toys I use to have that I wrecked when I was younger. I bought a Super Nintendo (SNES) from here with Kirby avalanche. The man at the counter took five dollars off of the game and ten dollars off of the console. When I got home it worked perfectly. I will definitely be coming back here to buy more games and/or consoles. read more

I took my son's xbox one s to the Arlington location to be fixed (The console wouldn't power on). After 1 week of them having the console, I went back up there because I had not heard anything from them. The console was up there and they stated on the invoice " it was not fixable due to water damage due to the video train". I left with the console and took it to CPR cell phone repair in the Arlington Highlands. I told them what Retro madness had told me and I left the console there to have diagnostics done on the xbox. Not even an hour after having left this place they called me with diagnostics of the xbox. They told me Retro Madness had preformed over soldering on the main board and pieces were missing off the board and that the liquid damage would not have caused this. They sent me photos of the board in an email and said that Retro Madness owed me a new xbox cause they damaged the board beyond repair! When I went back to Retro madness with all the printed out pictures of the board the manager was of no help and didn't know anything about gaming systems! He called the Owner whose name he said was Daniel Chambers was a jerk and kept saying the water damage caused all this! If you want your game system fixed do not take it to RETRO MADNESS!! They will break it beyond repair! Plus the people they hire have no knowledge of anything that has to do with game systems!!! read more
