It was only a 15' walk away from our holiday rental. We bought some wine, meat, bread, fruit, veggies, beer, rice, milk, water and soda here. As usual great quality and as usual for a great value. It's always a joy to shop at Pingo Doce. And this one here is a very convenient one, right in all the action of downtown Port.

The design is great, the service excellent, and it's my chosen spot to buy local food products as gifts. (Their shopping bag is sooooo pretty and way cheaper than any touristy shop!!) Every time I visit Porto, I stop first thing there to relax and can get out with a 10€-15€ bill for starter, sandwich and one or two glasses of wine. Please, encourage a local mercearia!!

There weren't too many diners when we arrived for our reservation but we were greeted warmly and appreciatively. Our server was very attentive and helped outline the various options and what came with it. We ended up ordering a board for two and a sausage dish. Everything was tasty. The dessert, Chocolate Salami, isn't what it sounds like and was an absolute showstopper. Give this place a try.

He also ordered this melted cheese bowl in which you dip your bread. Really good as well. The cheese and meat board was amazing. Fresh and savory food. The owner also told us to put honey on the cheese and that tasted really good. Added to the flavor. The wine was good. We then ordered one of the type of sausages that they serve and it was good as well but not as good as the meat and cheese board. The owner was our host and server. She was great, Attentive, and helpful.
