I completely, totally adore Sonya and Steve. We used Sonya for our floral through our venues package (and then added some extras) and used Steve for our officiant. Floral: The flowers were exactly what I had envisioned. I was really bad at communicating my vision to Sonya but with the help of some pictures I brought along she figured out exactly what I was looking for. I know nothing about flowers or decorating so Sonya was my lifeline there. She constantly mentioned that she was keeping costs down even though I was pushing to spend more, spend more! She made a few flower change suggestions to keep down materials cost and recommended using some of the ceremony flowers to decorate our sweetheart table. In the end I was thrilled with my small bill and my awesome flowers. Sonya is extremely creative and it shows from the first meeting to the end product. Please note - our centerpieces and gazebo decorations were included in the cost of the venue package... we added on our bouquets, bouts, aisle hooks, extra arrangements, etc Officiant: Our original lower cost officiant reinforced the old saying, "You get what you pay for". We had to find a less flakey, more coherent officiant a few weeks before the wedding... so we booked Steve. He was great! I only spoke to him over the phone and email while setting up our ceremony details but he had all the details down. During our ceremony I put a little joke in there to get the guests laughing a bit and he delivered it perfectly! Overall, Steve was kind, well spoken, and professional. He even came to say bye after the ceremony was over. I felt bad because we forgot to invite him and his wife to the reception (etiquette and I like them). My only complaint is response time. Emails and calls sometimes get slow responses but it's worth it 100% and you can depend on them to call/email you back and then deliver in the end. I'll admit that I'm not really a "flowers" kind of girl, but as far as wedding decorations go, flowers are the easiest way to make a place look nicer. Sonya did an excellent job with arrangements for our wedding. I wanted a clean, modern look to our flowers, and Sonya delivered this perfectly with pomanders, calla lilies in round glass bowls, and hand-tied calla lily bouquets that fit our budget. We enjoyed our consultation with Sonya so much that when plans for our original officiant fell through, we decided to give her husband Steve a call to officiate. (He's also an officiant through Wedgewood.) I'm a sucker for husband-wife teams. :) I'm going to add my 5-star review here for Steve since I don't see a separate Yelp listing for him here. Steve has clearly been doing this wedding officiant thing for a long time. He understood the tone that we wanted (a balance between religious and secular wording), and when we discussed alternatives to the unity candle (not recommended for outdoor ceremonies!), he had suggested a wine ceremony for us which we absolutely loved and recommend (if only because the process of selecting your own ceremony wines is fun!). We discovered Sweet Pea as a result of a search for wedding officiants and had originally planned just to use Steve Beck as our officiant. We could not have been more pleased with Steve -- he has such a pleasant demeanor and our ceremony was spot on. Since this was a second marriage for both of us, he suggested we have a "sand ceremony" that would symbolize the blending our families. I can't say enough how much we appreciated his style. We had ordered flowers from another vendor and decided at the last minute to order some centerpieces. Sonja was able to pull together floral at the last minute that matched our original flower arrangements right on. You would not have noticed the difference between the two arrangements. Floral- Our wedding package with Wedgewood included our centerpieces through Sonya. She was great to work with! My fiance and I met with her about 4 months before our wedding. We described the look we were going for and gave her a rundown of everything we already had in the works (dress styles and colors, etc ...) From there she came up with beautiful centerpieces for us. We also decided on my bridal and bridesmaid bouquets. She was able to work with our budget to give us everything we wanted. Normally at Eagle Ridge the ceremony takes place outside at the gazebo. Our wedding was at 6:00 in the evening in December and I wanted an indoor ceremony. She came up with the idea to line our aisle with large glass containers with floating candles. On our wedding day the ceremony decorations were perfect. I absolutely LOVED my bridesmaids bouquets. The centerpieces were better than I could have imagined. But unfortunately, I have to admit, I hated my bridal bouquet. Originally I had discussed all ivory hydrangea and roses for all the bouquets. I sort of feel like I was talked out of the hydrangea and went with all roses for my bouquet. It was a fail. I wish I would have stuck to what I knew I wanted. Overall Sonya was great and I wouldn't hesitate to use her again. Officiant- Steve is a true professional. We met with Steve two months before mour wedding and went over the whole ceremony. He basically recited the entire thing from memory for us, asking us questions along the way and making notes on what we would like changed or personalized. My fiance an I already had two children together and wanted to find a way to include them in our ceremony. He suggested a family sand ceremony. I always thought sand ceremonies were kind of cheesy, but we decided to go ahead and try it. He really impressed us and made us feel very comfortable. On our wedding day the ceremony was beautiful. BUT... A few of the changes we discussed in our meeting didn't happen. We gave him a copy of a reading we wanted included in our ceremony and it was skipped over. We also gave him a personalized reading for our ring exchange, he just recited the one he had memorized. Those two details aside, our ceremony was really moving. All of our guests loved the sand ceremony. Everyone commented on how impressed they were that he didn't read anything at all. It was very nice. It wasn't exactly what we wanted. But nobody knew anything was wrong and no one will really remember those little details anyway. we were very happy to have Steve play such an important role for our big day. read more

Sonya at Sweet Pea was great and so helpful! We had our reception and ceremony at Eagle Ridge and through the package include Sweet Pea as our Floral provider. The experience with Sonya went smoothly. We had our first meeting with her right after we had our meeting with I Do Wedding Cakes which was perfect because we live in Mountain view and driving to Morgan hill is a drag when you are driving on the 101. She had pictures prepared to give you an idea of where to go with the flowers, asked what color theme the wedding was heading and we choose blue, which she then showed us what she think would work and it came up so beautiful. We had our ceremony there as well so she decorated the Gazebo with 3 floral arrangements around the gazebo and it looked great, completely covered and looked vibrant. When it comes to the centerpieces I was more than thrilled, I'm not really a fan of just a floral arrangement, and she suggested a vase/water/flower/stones centerpiece which came our beautifully. It was a long vase with submerged orquids and stones and with a tea light floating. :) so cute. My bouquet was so gorgeous, she added blue accents and a bit of soft lavender to make it pop. good size not so heavy. My bridesmaids had corsages (a bit out of the norm) due to the fact tha we had 10 groomsmen to 5 bridesmaids and it was a 2-1 ratio and it would of looked weird for them to hold bouquets. the corsages were very pretty and vibrant, only thing was that they were a bit heavy and would shift all the time and they had to be turning it over. The boutonniere's were symmetrical to the corsages, beautiful. Overall my experience with sweet pea was hastle free and I'm delighted with the outcome. Pictures looked great and communication with Sonya was a breeze. read more

Sonya did our flowers and she matched my vision perfectly for my bouquet, my girls' bouquets, the boutonnieres, the centerpieces for all of the tables and the floral spread on the gazebo. She showed me different pictures of centerpieces she made, and was open to the centerpieces I wanted. On the day of, I was happy with our simple, clean and crisp centerpieces of different colored tulips. We also talked about bouquets for boutonnière, but we decided to not use her. That was my only regret with Sonya... I wish I had since I would've been a lot happier with the bouquet and boutonniere if I went through her. I called left a VM heard nothing... couple weeks went by so I sent a follow up email... heard nothing. I eventually called back and I believe I left a message indicating the lack of response thus far and would appreciate a call back. I finally received a call back and Steve was extremely nice and apologized for the delay and we booked a consultation with him. Unfortunately, we waited on the day of our meeting for about 30 minutes before calling Steve to verify that he was indeed coming. He answered and said that he thought it was scheduled for another day.... Ok, as a bride this does not make me confident in moving forward with this person. If you can't return phone calls/emails and make our scheduled meeting time??? What makes me confident you can make our wedding day? I just feel as though this is bad business. With that said!! I just learned that they are a husband & wife team. Although, we have not met Sonya yet, her reviews on yelp are amazing so I have hope. I am however, extremely skeptical. So I am EXTREMELY nervous about using these services. I don't want to have to worry about whether or not I can count on them to make our day.... Long sigh... wish us luck! read more
