So I've seen Natalie in the past for her intuitive readings, but recently I decided to try acupuncture both because my Flex Spending Account will cover this treatment, and because western medicine has not been able to resolve a few of my health issues, primarily painful TMJ. I made an appointment with her very convenient online scheduler and chose a time and date that worked well for my schedule, and I was immediately put at ease upon arrival. Natalie and I discussed my goals for acupuncture, she went over the procedures so I'd know what to expect, and we did a short history. I was then guided to her table, laid down, and we did 10 needles to start. I wasn't sure what to expect but I was surprised that it wasn't painful. After she inserted the needles she guided me through a short meditation sequence that really helped me relax and focus. After about 20 minutes, the needles were removed, and I felt relaxed and calm. I started smoking when I was 15, and I took to it like candy. I was never what people today call a "social smoker." I just smoked all the time. I became an adult and realized smoking was a terrible thing. So I tried quitting. Read the Carr book, tried NRTs, did hypnosis a few times, tried Chantix, along with a few cold turkey attempts. None worked for more than a week or two. I had a daughter in 2009 and quit during pregnancy and the first year of her life while I breastfed. I went back to smoking as soon as that was done and spent the next few years feeling bad and hiding my smoking from my child. In 2017, I felt motivated to try again. I contacted Natalie to ask about acupuncture. I had my last cigarette at 4:45 on Sep 22, 2017 and my first acupuncture session with Natalie at 5pm the same day. For the first couple of weeks after that day, I thought about cigarettes (after a meal, when stuck in traffic, when drinking coffee) but I didn't really crave them. The thought would enter and I'd follow it with a second thought, "but I don't do that anymore" and carry on with my day.
