It is really shocking to see a school where not only the students don't care but also the teachers. Foul language and behavior seems common amongst a large majority of students at this school along with a lack of enthusiasm for schooling. Not only this but the teachers seem not to really care about their jobs either. Maths teachers falling asleep during school, snide remarks and other statements have led me to suggest that there is a serious problem with the people who attend and work for this school. It doesn't seem like a very pleasant place to go and learn, and people I know who are affiliated with the school are only semi-impressed at best. I was only there to observe for five minutes but what I saw looked terrible. Kind of sad really. The teachers pretty much summed up the school quite well, "a fight? Well that wouldn't be the first one or the last one we had here." read more

This school is becoming one of the new superschools! Government crap taking away from the real issue of teaching our kids. I understand it will all be better and one place, but quite frankly it always was one complete place they just have the one name now of College, instead of Kindergarten, Primary and High Schools. Their website is great. Their online resources for the students are great. They offer extra things like TAFE or related courses rather than classroom subjects only for the older kids. Didn't really matter to me what they offered or what age group children we are talking about I had nothing but trouble with all my kids when they were at this school. One had disabilities and another seemed to have a disease that made him allergic to the schoolground (ok, so he just wasn't a school kid I guess) but they never really handled the kids very well compared to where my kids are now. In addition the communication left a lot to be desired with me finding things out well after they occurred, if at all. read more

My son has just left half way through year 12 Reynella East College. I found a complete lack of commitment and care by the Assistant Principle Mr Bastian. He seems to think he runs the school and if he does he is making a pittiful effort at it. He does not like confrontation from parents and likes to change his story constantly when questioned. Im sure he must have been very proud when he just told 20 students to leave year 12 with a non pass. He told me this was happening because they didnt meet the June deadline for the compulsury research project. SACE has informed me that there is a December admittance so all students have every opurtunity to pass year 12. I also found 2 of my sons teachers, Ms Bonner and Mr Whitford were incredibly rude via phone when I questioned about why they didnt call me to say my son was behind in work. They told me it was not their responsibility to chase up students in year 12. I have put my concerns in writing and submitted them to Mr Mutton the real Principle of the school but no response. Its a shame that the school took the name of a college but doesnt go to every possible length to get their students to pass each level. And this school does not seem to care at all. read more

I guess in 2024 things can change, My girl just started going there, gets good grades has friends, everyone seems very happy there, she came from an independent school, things were going great there too, but was rejected by the school card, apparently we were over by 2 thousand dollars. This would of cost us $6000 p/y, the public schools however allow up to $70.000 p/y a no brain er to go to a public school. Anyhow I discovered the teachers do care , but they are not not wiping the students noses. If the students hand in reports and assignments on time, do all work that is required, and behave themselves they will do well. Very much the same as you would expect from most colleges and universities. read more
