I politely said "I live 4 1/2 hours away and the appt. is for my daughter who attends West Liberty University". I then asked if someone could fax the form to me. The receptionist asked for the fax no. I then asked her if Dr. Stacey Brown-Brocklehurst was seeing new patients. She said, "yes, but you have to see the NP first, we are very busy here". The receptionist then proceeded to tell me to get the paperwork in ASAP as "we are very busy here". I was very turned off by the receptionist's attitude and the fact that she was in a hurry, trying to get me off the phone as soon as she could. Needless to say I called another physician's office who was more than happy to speak with me about my daughter and why I wanted her to be seen. I was not wanting to go into a "lifelong story" with the receptionist but had some questions that the receptionist seemed too busy to answer. My advice: GO SOMEWHERE ELSE

OK that's fine but then I just found out that all the doctors that work at this weirton medical emergency center. The doctors don't actually work for WVU or Weirton medical they work for a company called Team Health and they can charge you whatever they want because they are a separate company and none of the doctors that work in that emergency room work for that hospital directly. WVU doesn't notify you or tell you any of that when going to the emergency room and on the back of the WVU bills they don't notify you that a separate company called Greenbriar will contact to collect money... so you can pay for the doctor that you saw that night... that's right you have to pay for your doctor separately or PA in the emergency room and the $1100 was for the closet and the Band-Aid!!! The medical system in the pharmaceutical system is absolutely corrupt!!

Worst hospital I have ever been to. Came via ambulance around 11 pm with severe symptoms of a panic…read moreattack. I was unable to breath and had passed out 3 separate times in the waiting room, also being a type 1 diabetic--completely dehydrated from nausea and vomiting. They refused to send anyone out to help or even check in with me. I sat in the waiting room for 3 hours until they told me I had to wait another couple of hours because of how busy they were. As someone actively passing out and vomiting all through the waiting room, I figured they would at least send a nurse or someone to check I was okay and not dying on the floor. I was never serviced and had to actually call an ambulance to pick me up from one hospital and take me to Heritage Valley Beaver. Not a single issue there.
