I politely said "I live 4 1/2 hours away and the appt. is for my daughter who attends West Liberty University". I then asked if someone could fax the form to me. The receptionist asked for the fax no. I then asked her if Dr. Stacey Brown-Brocklehurst was seeing new patients. She said, "yes, but you have to see the NP first, we are very busy here". The receptionist then proceeded to tell me to get the paperwork in ASAP as "we are very busy here". I was very turned off by the receptionist's attitude and the fact that she was in a hurry, trying to get me off the phone as soon as she could. Needless to say I called another physician's office who was more than happy to speak with me about my daughter and why I wanted her to be seen. I was not wanting to go into a "lifelong story" with the receptionist but had some questions that the receptionist seemed too busy to answer. My advice: GO SOMEWHERE ELSE

They left her in the waiting room for 2 1/2 hours (we finally just left) with her heart beating out of her chest, and took in every other patient that arrived AFTER MY DAUGHTER, telling me that I was not a medical professional and these people were more critical. LIES, LIES, LIES!!!! During my 2 1/2 hours there, I heard every persons reason for coming to the ER, and even heard their triage assessment--- A bee sting, a pulled muscle, several women with "female problems," a person who fell on their tailbone, a girl with a cold that was on antibiotics for 3 months, and many more. Not to mention the people that were there before us who had been sitting in the waiting room on their phones, laughing and talking, going in and out to smoke, all those people, who WERE NOT CRITICAL, were taken back to a room, while my daughter sat in the corner of the waiting room unable to breathe with her heart beating out of her chest, her head twitching, and they still would not take her back to be seen. There were 2 nurses that were extremely rude, mad because the ER was so busy. Apparently, the Weirton Medical Center ER does not know what severe anxiety is and don't care to learn how to handle someone experiencing a severe panic attack. For them, I wish they could experience the absolute FEAR, DREAD and THOUGHTS that go thru one's mind when having one of these attacks. The one rude nurse kept telling her to calm down. If she could have calmed down, we wouldn't have had to go to the ER. Very unprofessional staff, from the doctors to the nurses. I filed a complaint and will continue to complain and go to higher ups to make sure my daughter is NEVER TREATED LIKE THAT AGAIN by these inconsiderate people.
