Self-checking my bags was quick and easy. Security was also quick. Since I was traveling within the Schengen, there were no ID checks during the entire process. There were numerous eateries at typical airport prices, from coffee shops, cafes. Food quality was ok. Departure was on-time!

Subway and bus ride to the airport went smoothly. After I went past TSA, I found the relax lounge in Terminal 2 of the Prague Airport, and decided to sleep early and fell asleep on one of their "beds." The lounge area was large and spacious, with plenty of beds, which I'm so grateful for. My leather jacket came in handy because it actually got chilly throughout the night in the airport relax lounge, and I used it as a blanket. I woke up several times throughout the night, and by 5:30am, the hustle and bustle of airport activity was pretty loud with all the people catching their early-morning flights. I didn't mind, as I felt rested enough before I headed to my gate to catch my flight to Helsinki.

Previous reviews on other sites have bad rapped the breakfast buffet but I personally feel that the breakfast provides a multitude of choices. From an large assortment of breads, cereals, fruits, meats and cheeses and hot items, like scrambled and boiled eggs, pancakes/crepes and more. Everything I tried was very appetizing and the amount of choices was a bit overwhelming at first. He provided the history of the area and showed the camp, and fortress (the crematorium was closed on Saturday). While I really had no desire to see a concentration camp, being there and understanding how this once resort town for the rich was turned into a ghetto where Jews were sent by Nazis to work and dies was educational. In person, it was chilling to see how in a city (Prague) where a former KING had invited Jews to live peacefully for a few hundred years in community with neighbors could be ravaged in less than a decade by stealing property and sending community members to die. The highlight of the tour, for me, was walking through the interior of the fortress. Because Terezin had been a fortress around a town and in which at present there is an educational institution, this concentration camp may differ from other in Germany proper. Patrik took us through the museum which held objects, and other displays from the camp. The humanity of those held as slaves by the Nazis shows through in the posters, pictures and attempts to try to "normalize" the hell created. Take time to look at the exhibits there. The most depressing part of this tour were the headstones with the names of those who "came through" the gates and perished. For judges in the USA who are faced with anti-semites who claim there holocaust did not happen and perpetrate hate crimes, should be able to sentence the guilty to tour camps and help, In short, book and take a tour with this company.

Hostels can be tough to rate because everyone has different needs and wants. When my sister and I…read morebackpacked through Prague we were excited to check out the city and really delve into the local scene. We found Sir Toby's through some online research and were relieved to read such positive reviews. There's WIFI access, the rooms are clean, the hostel itself is cute and the staff is nice, and we loved the "club" below the hostel that operated as the breakfast room in the AM and a bar/hang out spot for guests in the evenings and at night. More affordable than most other hostels, the downside we found with Sir Toby's was just the location. Not too close to the center of the city, you're stuck needing to cab or take the train places to see the center of the city and the many tourist attractions. It wasn't an expensive or long ride, (make sure to get a week-long pass if you want to take the train for more than just a ride or two. It's the best way to get around!) but as young adults, we were really looking for more noise and activity. Because of the distance from downtown you don't get the ins/outs and hustle and bustle of people coming and going. And because of that, the atmosphere was less social and more quiet. Which is certainly good if you are looking for that! If you want to be somewhere that's walkable to more than some small shops, parks and grocery stores, this may not be the right spot for you. But it's cheap, it's clean and sometimes that's all you need!

From the moment my friends and I walked in we were greeted by a warm and cheerful staff member. She promptly helped us and explained how the hostel works. After having arrived at 6am in Prague and spending the afternoon in the city, it was nice to be greeted by someone so lovely. We stayed in a 12-bed dorm. The walls and floor are wood so it gave the room a very cozy feeling. Aside from the difficulty in getting to the top bunk, I had no complaints for the room. Every bed has a curtain, an outlet, a small cubby, and a large cubby. Although the hostel is not centrally located, the tram which takes you to the metro is no more than a 5 minute walk away. We did some exploring in the neighborhood and found some cool restaurants. And the hostel if fairly close to Cross Club, the neighborhood's alternative dance club. Every night the staff has some sort of planned activity. The night we arrived they served us free crepes. They also had a movie night, a game night, and most importantly they had a free BBQ night on Saturday. That was definitely the best night. Everyone came out of their rooms to talk and eat the wonderful, free food. It was honestly the best hostel experience I've ever had!

Vaclav Havel Airport Prague - Terminal 1 is also one big airport and still easy to navigate. We were leaving from and the process could not have been easier. we needed (and wanted) lunch and luckily we went to =o the lounge where we had plenty to choose from. They have plenty of restaurants and choices here. So this helped round out an easy voyage. It's was also a very easy to access from the airport from where we were staying... about a 45 minute drive. Our only issue was man-made... we had two big bags packed as heavy as we were allowed. We even had to purchase a duffle bag to lighted and stretch out the load. There was lots of duty free shopping opportunities within the airport, but never felt overwhelmed with the amount of people you would see at a JFK, Atlanta or LAX. Easy mobility throughout. Plenty of clean bathrooms and no charge Wi-Fi that were now seeing in most airports both nationally and internationally. This is always a nice finishing touch while you're waiting for your plane to board. What more could you ask for?
