They carry a real mix of fashion, obviously catering to the older, more conservative, retired residents of the town but they also have a surprisingly good selection of jeans and brands that appeal to the hip youngsters in town. Being in my 50's I guess I fall into a category somewhere in between. In past visits I've purchased some leggings and a jacket and most recently shopped for pants and shirts for my elderly father last January. But what prompts me to post this review and to give this store 5 stars is the amazing service I received there yesterday. MY dad was recently moved to a care facility and needs a couple of pairs of pants. I popped in to see what was available and make a beeline for the sale rack, being on a bit of a budget on this shopping trip. There were a couple of pairs of Columbia pants in a Size 40, marked down to $25! Deal! But they looked big to me (my poor dad is wasting away) and I wondered if I shouldn't try the next size down, a 38. But what if they don't fit?? I have to travel an hour north to visit my dad and would be doing so the next day and returning a few days later so thought I would purchase the one pair of Size 38 and one pair of the 40's and if possible return what didn't fit. I approached the clerk and inquired about their return policy on sales items. "Final sale" she said politely so I explained my dilemma. "Take them on approval" she said. Huh? "Take both pairs and let him try them on and bring back whatever doesn't fit." "I won't be back until Monday or Tuesday (4 days later)" "No problem." "Do you want a deposit?" Nope. "To record my credit card?" Nope. Just my name and telephone number. I couldn't even give her a local number as we have had the house telephone disconnected since my dad's move and I am the 1% of the population without a cell phone so I gave her my dad's neighbor's number. The clerk bagged the pants, smiled and said "See you next week." AMAZING customer service!

This is the kind of place your stylish, arty, fashionable aunt would shop. The one who looks a little younger than she really is, who holds art exhibitions and skews a little eastern on the house decor. So they have tons of cool stuff, cut for more mature bodies and that veers to conservative with higher necklines and long sleeves. They've also got quite the collection of higher-end jeans. Anyways, as with all places like this, there is always something to find for us younger gals. Some of their pieces are ageless, timeless and always gorgeous. Their prices do run in the moderate to high range, but some of this stuff will last you for years!

But recently I walked by and saw a really nice party dress...perfect for the holiday season. I was in a rush though so I noted the dress and came back about a week later on a weekend. The dress was no longer on display but I found it easily enough on the rack. They had a few sizes left and thankfully one that looked like it would fit. No sooner did I have the dress in hand, did a sales woman offer to start a fitting room for me. A little pushy but after that she didn't bother me so I can't complain. I quickly glanced around the store. There was a lot going on and most of the styles I saw weren't my thing. I think they cater to a slightly older crowd (late 40's/50's +) (they did have a cruise wear section). They also have stuff that I'd consider to be a little more whimsical/unique in design which isn't my personal preference but I could picture some women I know who would love the clothes there. The dress fit perfectly (yay for in-change-room mirrors) and I made the purchase...at just a little over $100 it was a good deal on a party dress in my opinion. I'd recommend shopping at this store on the weekends as it always looks a bit busy during weekdays. Also, during the week they have live mannequins stationed at the door. They creep me out a little bit but others may not mind :)

Today (very upset) because the lights were on, 2 ladies working in the store and the doors were locked. I knocked and the moment the saw me, they went to the back room. I was trying to make an exchange which will now become a return and I WILL NEVER GO BACK AGAIN.
