Gym is not crowded, each time I was there , there might have only been 2-3 other people max. Service is friendly and accommodating. We got a weekend pass as out of state visitors. Pro tip: register on a weekday, since weekends may not have a front desk person to assist Recommendations : 1) test out your access after registration. Make sure to test with door locked to avoid possible subsequent issues 2) bathroom stall was out of toilet paper, so hopefully some more can be stocked up. Overall, would definitely return to visit the facility if I'm back in the area. Keep up the great work.

His curiosity and enthusiasm made the experience even better. The facility was spotless and as well-equipped as any gym I've ever been to. They had top-of-the-line equipment for just about any training style--powerlifting, bodybuilding, CrossFit, Functional Patterns, and Knees Over Toes. On top of that, they offered an infrared sauna and a cold plunge. Next time I'm in town, this gym will definitely be at the top of my list.

The slide isn't always staffed, but when it is, it's super fun... even as a grown up :-) They have a rock wall, track for walking/running, and offer fitness classes. My mom likes doing the circuit of machines up in the weight lifting area. There's lots of cardio equipment. I usually prefer the free weights and non-circuit resistance machines for my workouts, and I've found everything I needed at this YMCA. Staff and members are all friendly, and I've never felt uncomfortable working out here. Sometimes you end up weighting for weights or machines, especially during peak times, but that's pretty much how it goes at any gym. Membership is $50/month for one person, or I believe $80/month for two, so a bit of savings. Considering everything you have access to with a membership, it's honestly not a bad deal. I have paid as much or more for gyms with way fewer amenities, let alone for a yoga or pilates studio. Definitely a good option.

I will say it is a bit pricey, but they have financial assistance for people who are needing it, and when I lost my job we paid based on how much we made so cost doesn't have to be a factor preventing you from going to an inclusive community center for all ages. The YMCA in West Boise offers a great experience for any newcomer to the gym or long time veterans who are just coming in to work out.

I know what makes a gym great, and this place delivers large open space, quality equipment, and an amazing community of trainers, staff, and members. Carrie, one of the personal trainers, truly stands out. She even called me on my birthday to wish me a happy birthday and offered a free session, which speaks volumes about the level of care here. She's knowledgeable, professional, and uses proper technique! I highly recommend her. I also want to recognize Jake and the manager, Bret, for their integrity and outstanding customer service. If you're serious about your fitness and want a gym that genuinely cares, this is the place to be.

The jacuzzi is often lukewarm instead of hot, & is in desperate need of resurfacing. The womens steam room is honestly disgusting -- visible slime buildup has remained on the floors and walls in the same spots for months, and the odor is terrible. When concerns or questions have been brought up to management, it is meet with disregard or sales-tactic excuses, & I am told these are all "normal". Very disingenuous response from management. The basic maintenance and sanitation of the facility are flat out ignored. The gym itself has a lot of potential. Its a shame that the pool/locker room facilities reflects a complete lack of care and pride in what could otherwise a nice location to enjoy.

I was only in town for a week and was able to contact them via the web site to make sure I could come in and buy a week membership. Quick note: they do not accept cash. I went at odd times since I was in town for meetings, and the place was often nearly deserted. There was staff around, but sometimes you had to look as they're busy doing things, not just sitting there waiting for you to show up. I did get greeted and shown around the different rooms. It is a strange layout, but once you find where everything is, it's completely fine. There are two main rooms for weights and machines, and you might have to go back and forth if you want to do things in a certain order, but a few extra steps isn't going to kill you, right? Solid gym, and if I worked in downtown Boise, good chance I'd get a membership here.

He was a trainer and seem to have a ton of toxic things to say to his clinic regarding my frustration with his arrogance and lack of respect. My pet peeve in gym culture, always welcome the guest, never make them feel like they're putting you out. I travel and I'm literally at new gym everyday and always try to show respect for each policy in place. This guy was everything I hate about "bro man" fitness. Bragging to his clinic, bad energy all around. I debated on confronting him on his attitude but the other gentlemen Shane(which may have been new) stepped in with patience and showed me the lay of the land. Took a few moments to help me get a good much needed workout. Struggling rehabbing a herniated side in neck and the gym was crucial to get blood flowing. Had it been up to tattoo cliche motivational quote on chest guy I wouldn't of been able to finish the check in. So thanks again Shane for making up for the rudeness of that trainer. I've trained also, I have been in gym culture for decades, that guys got a lot of humility coming his way if he wants to grow in that space. Anyways- never usually leave bad reviews but that guy needs to be called out. Great gym and location. Trainer guy....make eye contact with people trying to pay money to occupy your space for an hour. Never know what they're up against.
