This is a cute place that seems to have really fresh food. I appreciate that the menu can accommodate different dietary restrictions. I got a peach and blueberry salad. It was really fresh but the dressing was intense! It actually caused irritation in my mouth which wasn't awesome but I enjoyed the vibe of the restaurant. Definitely check it out. read more

Great place for brunch in Warren. Once a food truck, now a restaurant. The decor inside is eclectic and fun. Includes superhero themed walls and comic strip covered bars. Got the scotch egg and fried chicken sando. Chicken was perfectly moist with crisp, flavorful exterior. The bun and the sauce went perfectly together. Scotch egg was pretty good too. The addition of pork belly bites along with the glaze was tasteful. Overall good experience. Not that big of a place but big enough to have small groups of people. Price is between 10-20$. They do have beers and select cocktails. Service was pretty good considering it's a 2 man kitchen and chef Lou was literally running around nonstop the whole time. Hats off to them. Parking might be bit tricky but there's some street parking. read more

Went there on a Friday mid morning. We sat outside with our dog and it was great. The wait staff member brought my dog water and was super friendly. My wife and I ordered the pear salad to share and 2 orders of fish and chips. Food was GREAT. Prices were reasonable and drinks were funky and tasty. Next time we come back from NY we will be back. Best thing is that everything on the menu can be done gluten free on separate fryers and as per the wait staff, at a different kitchen space. AWESOME! read more

I have been here a few times. Each time I really enjoy the food off the regular menu. The dishes are executed with a side of deliciousness. Last time I visited I had the calamari that had pesto and hot peppers. Their calamari is delicious and not a fried plate of rubber bands as is at some establishments. I have also had the lobster roll and it is equally a delight in my mouth. They have a great wine list but could use an addition of rose, however the riesling is perfect. I have also had their mixed drinks. They are delicious with fresh additions. You can also get cbd added to the drinks, a plus in my book! I want to love the sushi but 2x visits and haven't been impressed. I think some love needs to be added to that menu. (Please keep sushi just tweak the rice and add something new) I thought the prices were on point. read more

Cool place. I love that they serve breakfast all day. I went with friends. We all got our own dish, then a "sweet treat" for the table to share. I was split between a few options. I was tempted by the Mac and cheese as you can basically create any combo your heart desires! Anything on the menu can be gluten feee if needed. I would return. read more

I've been here a few times now and feel it's due for a review. Really wish I'd remember to take pictures. My partner and I started going here when the weather was still warm and sat outside. It's look small from the front but, lots of seating room inside. The customer service has always been spot on and food, delicious. Also, whenever we make a visit, I stop at Coffee Depot for a hot chai and bring it there. I like that they are not only fine with this but, happy because I'm supporting a small business in downtown Warren. You're warmly greeted when you walk in, sent off with a lovely buh-bye and the chef always asks how the food was when he has a minute. Clean, awesome selection of items to eat, wonderful people and an fantastic location. I want to also give a shout out to Liam. He has been our server last two visits and was phenomenal both times. Answering all questions, giving suggestions with an honest smile and not leaving any details out about the food. Such as, their mac & cheese (which is beyond awesome) is made with chicken thighs, not chicken breast. Which gives it an extra rich flavor. When dining out, I appreciate these small bits. Makes me feel the server views me as a person and not just money. I've lost count of how many visits to Rhode Roots and of course, we will be back. I've been here a few times & I need to come more! Love this place. They always have a great menu for vegetarians. I've had their Mac n cheese (sooo good) & I came for brunch & had the best French toast with their liquid cheesecake, lemon zest, and blueberry. It was amazing. Everything is delicious, and love the vibe Sit in the swinging chairs, play a game while you wait, and add your comments to the wall. What they excel at is their dedication to those who need gluten free. They go so far to have a dedicated fryer and prep station! Oh - and most everything can be made gluten free! Great spot in downtown Warren. There is a unique and eclectic appeal to this place. Good size food and drink menu with interesting beverages. They offered many vegan/ vegetarian/ GF options too. I went here for brunch and ordered the fried rice pudding balls. The outer part was delicious and covered with Nutella & powdered sugar. The inside was more rice than rice pudding but overall good. Rhody Roots also serves sushi Thurs-Sun so I had to try it. I got the spicy salmon roll and it did have a kick. It was a little too spicy for my taste but the rice and fish were fresh and delicious. My friends ordered the chicken sandwich and mushroom burger which they enjoyed. The fries were delicious and well seasoned. A must stop in Warren! read more

A taste of Portland (Oregon) in Warren, in all the good ways. Delicious, superbly crafted locally sourced food in a comfortable, unassuming hip vibe. It's hard to put a conventional 'label' on the food at Rhody Roots, except the unifying themes are that it's absolutely delicious and expertly prepared and assembled by a highly skilled chef who really knows what he's doing. The menu could be described as 'American', but with an emphasis on locally sourced ingredients prepared with creative twists. Hamburgers, fried chicken, salads, short ribs, almost 'comfort' food but prepared to gourmet standards. A recent visit included the best fried chicken sandwich we've ever had. Crispy on the outside, very moist and soft inside, without a hint of greasiness. Served with pickles, slaw, choice of house-made sauce, on a giant roll that was likewise crispy on the outside but soft on the inside. The French fries were the best we've ever had. Anywhere. The waitress described how they're hand-cut and twice cooked, with just the right amount of salt and a mixture of herb seasonings. Again not a hint of greasiness. They're good enough to make you give up side salads for life. The 'rooted salad' was a very pretty assemblage of sweet potatoes, yams, carrots, orange peel, and utterly yummy pickled fennel. Tomato soup tasted like the very best pizza sauce you've ever had. Thick, zesty, herbed, with house-made croutons. The staff couldn't have been more friendly, attentive, and patient with answering questions. We especially appreciated that our waitress actually gave very helpful opinions and suggestions, which turned out to be absolutely spot-on. The atmosphere and vibe is casual, comfortable, unpretentious, reminded us of hip places in Portland Oregon. Exposed brick walls, linoleum tile floors, post-industrial metal chairs and tables, a black&white television in the bathroom, comments from well-wishers written on one wall, all make for a very relaxing and comfortable place to spend time. Rhody Roots is one of the best restaurants not only in the East Bay, but all of Rhode Island and the south coast. We're going to be regulars here. read more

Our first 'take-out' visit to Rhody Roots was 5 stars of amazing. My short rib sandwich had tender meat and a great sauce with just the right amount of kick. The cauliflower burgers were popular with our vegetarians. Best take out fries ever - still crispy and fresh, hand cut!! My youngest loved the chicken and fries. Only disappointment was that the chicken and waffles was sold out already. We will be back, hopefully In person next time! Support this fantastic new-ish addition to the Warren scene. read more

We've been fans of this chef's creations since the Fork in the Rhode food truck. Amazing vegetarian fare -- refreshingly creative, beautifully presented, and always absolutely delicious. Service is always five stars plus -- and the entire team is overwhelmingly welcoming to our neurodivergent son. Since COVID, we have gotten takeout as well as one meal in person and again, Rhody Roots hits it out of the ballpark. Always immaculate even before COVID, the team really has taken precautions to the next level. Hands down the safest dining experience in Rhode Island. Rhody Toots is hands down the best brunch I have had since relocating to Rhode Island 3 years ago. The pleasantry begins from the door where I was welcomed like a long time friend. Decor is extremely cute and spacing is all pandemic appropriate. The true seller is the food. My goodness. I'm originally a New Yorker so I like to think that my taste in food is pretty vast. The lobster roll was incredible! The tarragon aioli was a taste I did not know would pair so well with lobster. They give you an abundance of lobster in the roll. Food-wise, it was very mixed. The sushi roll was phenomenal...genuinely the best part of the experience, and my son absolutely loved his. The shrimp udon was okay, but the portion was noticeably smaller than what most sushi places serve. The salmon poke bowl was very basic and honestly underwhelming. I also asked for spicy mayo, which was never brought out. The biggest disappointment was the service. Paying $4 for a canned soda with no refills already felt excessive, but when my son accidentally spilled it, we cleaned it up immediately ourselves. No one offered extra napkins, replaced the plate, or even asked if we wanted another drink. It just felt inattentive from start to finish. To make matters worse, one staff member was sitting at the bar listening to something loudly on a laptop, which completely took away from the atmosphere and felt unprofessional. As someone who used to waitress, I understand the service industry and I'm usually a generous tipper. But I also believe tips reflect service, and unfortunately this experience missed the mark. After picking up our receipt, the hostess was visibly unhappy with the tip amount and had no issue making that clear which only reinforced the poor experience. I very rarely leave one-star reviews, but for a place with a 4.6 star reputation and "top-rated" marketing, this was incredibly disappointing. Everyone got their drinks before I did (which I would understand as they were only fountian drinks), but we also got our appetizers before my drink came. It took at least 20 minutes for my drink to get to me. The drink itself was okay - I got a martini. Overall, I probably wont visit again unless I am going for Hibachi.

Service was good but was hiccups here and there like not getting menu or wrong flavor of ice-cream. I usually don't have issue like that before though. Overall the place is good. It's a solid asian restaurant in the area. It's not authentic Japanese restaurant and not unique per se but food is good and reasonably priced.

We ordered the mini stuffies, the hummus plate, and the fried pickles. The mini stuffies were a highlight. Loaded with Mello's chouriço and packed with flavor, they're a solid little bite. My grandfather set the bar pretty high for me on stuffies, and these came close. They have a different profile than what I grew up with; a little less bready, more chouriço forward, and the clam flavor takes a back seat. Not necessarily a complaint, they were just different from what I'm used to and were genuinely tasty. The lemon aioli on top was also a nice touch. The fried pickles were exactly what you want them to be. Crispy, well fried, and the breading actually stayed put while you ate them, which is more than I can say for a lot of fried pickles. They came with the same lemon aioli as the stuffies, which worked just as well here. The hummus plate was a bit of a letdown. We've had it many times before and it used to be a standout. This time the hummus itself was thick and pretty flavorless, more like a dense chickpea paste than anything else. The accompaniments were nice though and consisted of heirloom carrots, cucumbers, olives, cherry tomatoes, asparagus, pickled cauliflower, carrot, and a pepperoncini, all served alongside some buttery round crackers that were like a Ritz cracker's more refined cousin. The veggies saved the plate, but the hummus needs to find its way back. I suppose it could have just been an off batch and won't prevent us from trying it again. Cocktails were great, as usual. I had the Anana with scotch. I love pineapple and this has muddled pineapple and basil, pineapple juice, cracked black pepper. It's my go-to here and it delivered again. My partner went adventurous and ordered the Jungle Booby, which is built around tequila blanco and mezcal with campari, pineapple, grapefruit, lime, orgeat, and an absinthe spritz. The flavors were genuinely good, but the smokiness from the mezcal was a bit much for her taste. She followed it up with a glass of rosé and had no complaints after that. The cocktail wasn't the problem, it just wasn't her style. One of our favorite spots in Warren for a quick nibble, for a good reason.

Too many people find one favorite and never venture beyond it. At Blount, that would be a mistake because the menu is loaded with great options. On my most recent visit, I ordered the scallop roll. It was outstanding. Fresh, light, flavorful, and served on a perfectly buttered roll that complemented the seafood without overpowering it. Other visits have been all about the clam cakes, fried seafood, chowder, or one of their other sandwiches. Choosing what to order can actually be the hardest part of the experience. Fortunately, if there's a line, and there often is during the summer, you'll have plenty of time to study the menu and debate your decision. Trust me, you'll need it. Of course, the lobster roll is the headliner. It's the item most people associate with Blount, and there's a good reason for that. Yes, you'll pay a little more than you might elsewhere, but once it arrives you'll understand why. They don't skimp on portions. You're getting a substantial amount of lobster, and every bite tastes fresh and worth the price. Another personal favorite is the whole belly clam roll. If you've had a truly great whole belly clam roll, you know they're hard to forget. Blount's version ranks among the best I've had anywhere. The setup is part of the charm. You wait in line, place your order at what feels like a classic seaside food truck or trailer, then grab a seat under the large tent overlooking the water or at one of the nearby outdoor tables. It's casual, relaxed, and exactly how a Rhode Island summer meal should feel. The supporting cast deserves some praise as well. The fries are consistently excellent. The clam cakes are always fresh and delicious. The staff is friendly, personable, and genuinely helpful, even when they're dealing with long lines and busy crowds. I've never had an interaction that wasn't pleasant. What impresses me most is the consistency. Over the years, I've tried countless items from the menu, and I honestly can't think of a single thing I've regretted ordering. That's a rare accomplishment for any restaurant. I live in Lincoln and work in Boston, and whenever someone tells me they're visiting Rhode Island, Blount immediately goes on my list of recommendations. Yes, getting there may involve crossing the Washington Bridge, and that can sometimes test your patience. That's a discussion for another day. The important thing is that once you arrive and take that first bite, you'll forget all about the drive. Blount Clam Shack on the Waterfront isn't just a great seafood spot. It's one of those places that captures what Rhode Island summers are supposed to feel like. Great food, beautiful views, friendly people, and an atmosphere that keeps you coming back year after year. Metacom Kitchen is a cozy, intimate bistro, and if you haven't been, you're missing out. The atmosphere pulls you in immediately; warm, unhurried, with just the right amount of low lighting. Behind the bar you'll find a handsome Parisian bartender crafting some of the most thoughtful cocktails around. On this particular visit, that meant an extra dirty gin martini and a chai old fashioned. Both were perfect. My partner and I love to graze, rather than commit to one big entrée, when we can. My partner's family calls it bits and bobs, and that is what we did on this particular visit. We ordered the Duck Plate featuring duck three ways, some picked veggies, a fruit mustard, and grilled focaccia crostini. The Candy Beets & Salsify, which featured jewel-toned beet cubes scattered across what can only be described as a snow of barrel aged feta, roasted salsify (I had to look these up and apparently, they are somewhere between a parsnip and a carrot with an almost oyster like flavor when cooked), topped with some fresh green herbs. The dish was so pretty I almost didn't want to eat it. The Chickpea Fries are exactly what they sound like, and are somehow so much more; golden, crispy little logs served with an A1 aioli that you will not stop eating. The Coriander & Sea Salt Chicken Wings rounded things out; a pile of beautifully seasoned wings with caramelized onions and thyme, paired with a spicy buttermilk dipping sauce that had just the right amount of heat. Everything was absolutely delicious, which is honestly an understatement. We never save room for dessert and that was the plan this time too, until someone nearby ordered a crème brûlée and my partner's head spun around. That's her kryptonite. The version that night had Kahlua in it, which is usually not our thing; but the torched top was a beautiful lacquered brown, the custard underneath was silky, and wow, we were scraping the ramekin. Chef Allaire really knows his stuff. He creates small, decadent bites with ingredients you'd never think to pair, and somehow it all makes perfect sense on the plate. If you're feeling adventurous, make a reservation for Mystery Monday, where a three-course dinner is crafted for you on the spot. Pescatarians and other dietary preferences are accommodated if you let them know ahead of time. It fills up fast, so plan accordingly. If you prefer to order off the regular menu, that's available Monday too, and every other night. Either way, do yourself a favor and get here.

I've always felt that a smaller menu leads to higher quality, and it's clear the kitchen is focused on doing each dish well. Hard to imagine other places keeping sixty menu items consistently good or fresh. Service remains reliable and welcoming. The only downside is parking, since you'll need to find a spot on the street nearby. Definitely recommended!

The calamari was cooked well and it was a great change from the tomato based dips that typically accompany calamari. The aioli worked very well with the addition of capers and a squeeze of lemon. Our friends had not been there previously, but it's definitely on their rotation now.
