I can't comment on what took place with the bad review, but I believe it to be unsubstantiated and unreliable as a full reflection of RI Junk Removal. I say this because, as I project manager by trade, I engaged Richard and his company by email and was deliberately vague and questioning about timing, pricing, and the ability to move my items. Took away custom made screen doors that were NOT supposed to be removed. Repeated calls over months to "Duane" elicited "oh yes, we'll tale care of it", "Was just going to call you", etc. Don't trust even your junk with this con man. read more

We recently bought a house and the previous owners left a basement full of junk that we needed removed. I called RI junk removal and made an appointment for them to come out. Since we had the appointment we emptied the basement and put all the stuff into our yard...RI junk removal never showed on the day of their appointment, I called (after appointment time) and was told they ran late with another job and they would be to my place by noon the next day...and again they never showed up. I tried to call several times and there is no answer at the office and have yet to receive a call back. I feel this is unacceptable and very unprofessional! I waited around wasting my time for two days...they may show up sometimes...but in my book if they can do this to several other people (read reviews) they can do it to you...so if you value your time...move on to the next on the list because there is no telling if they will actually show up. read more

Had a couple couches, a treadmill, and miscellaneous trash to get rid of. Scheduled a weekend pick up for removal. Professional, clean, and quick with fantastic prices. During removal they found a 4x6 rug with black mold and removed for safety reasons with some advice on how to get rid of the mold. I did not hire Rich and his crew but my neighbor that lives in my 3 tenement house did! Rich's crew was very unprofessional, throwing furniture out the second floor window, and down the stairs without any regards to damaging the property in doing so. They were loud, using vulgarity and acting very inappropriately in addition to stealing items from a Rubbermaid container knowingly belonging to another tenant and replacing the stolen items with a box of screws and nails so it appears full and feels heavy not to mention they were Christmas items that belong to my daughter and I just weeks before Christmas! I would not recommend this business with such little integrity to anyone!! Shame on them!!! read more

Had some construction materials I needed to get rid of as well as a shed removed. Rich said he would come on a Friday to check it out and give me a quote, and do the job same day if I was good with the quote. Sounded great. Friday came, said he would be there between 3 and 5, never showed up. Got an email around 6 saying he got stuck on another job and if he could come by on Saturday. I said sure, I will be around. Saturday came, Rich never showed up, no email, no call, nothing. Unfortunate. It's one thing to just keep someone in the loop when plans change, it's another just to blow them off. I called and set up an appointment for a Saturday morning. They didn't show up when promised. 2 hours later I e-mailed to ask what happened and was told by Rich that someone else was supposed to come but something must have happened. He told me he'd find out and let me know in 15-20minutes. 3 hours later I had to email back and ask what was going on, I was waiting around all day Saturday for these guys to show up and they never did. Rich said let's reschedule for Sunday and sorry but they are a "very very very very busy" company, and I suggested 10:30 and to let me know if that didn't work. He never responded. Rich and his crew did an outstanding job in eliminating a large amount of junk in a filled 20x20 self-storage facility, including old lab equipment. Because I had to go through many of the items to see if they were worth saving, the job required a team with experience and flexibility. Rich is extremely personable, and made the complex job of disposing of the junk realizable and entertaining at the same time. His team was very helpful and very easy to work with. There were 5 truckloads of junk. Rich even agreed to take the 5th truckload of mostly large equipment made of steel for free to be salvaged as scrap. RI Junk Removal gave us a price over the phone for removing a huge player piano from our home. They showed up on the day and time we had agreed on, removed the ridiculously heavy piano carefully so as not to cause damage to our home while getting it out. They were friendly and courteous. It started with a promise - great. 2 days after the promised date I realized they can't use the phone properly (they leave an audio message on text instead of calling me). They pick up the trash, but don't call me for payment or pricing (as promised). 2 days after that I get called for payment. I give my credit card that has a low limit so they can't jack me. They say it's declined. My bank shows processing - and I say my bank says differently. Later on that evening I get a call from the PD thinking I have committed fraud against the vendor, I explain and check my bank again. Now there are 2 pending charges for the same amount - they jacked or tried to jack me. Not only can they not work their phone, but apparently nor their credit card machine as well. You just can't trust people who lie to you and double bill you (or at least try to). Insane. Avoid at all costs - haul it yourself or call a friend with a pickup - or better yet - call a service that actually delivers. That's what I will do next time. Oh, did I mention this was for my Mother in Law whom is advanced in years. Not cool. This same post is on multiple sites - that's how bad it was for me. read more
