It pains me to give such a low review for a pizza shop with such amazing pizza. The reason is simple, they keep raising prices. The final straw was when a large pepperoni pizza and fries came to over $20. Ad in a tip and it's almost $30. I have heard my neighbors complain about this as well. I frequently order delivery and on occassion I stop in on my way home for take-out. Each and every time, I have a great experience, employees are very nice and the food is great. Tonight, I once again ordered delivery and decided to try the Chicken-Brocolli Alfredo for the first time. It arrived sooner than the 45 minute quote time and was wonderful. After eating my way through this awesome dish, I noticed there was no brocolli at all. I decided to call Rialto, just to let them know that the brocolli was missing. The nice gentleman appologised for my inconvenience, (even though there was no inconvenience, and the food was great). He also insisted on applying a credit to my account (which I tried to decline) and he would not hear from that. Garbage. If you think you've experienced bad customer service, I'd invite you to order from Rialto's and have the staff take the wrong order (aka what they heard). The manager is rude and told me I was wrong and preceded to hang up on me. I called back and spoke to the owner who told me he had my number and would harass me if I chose to call back (won't be happening) and then block my number. I always try to give this place a shot and it's usually hit or miss. I love the wings from here but the meatball sub I got from here was soggy and falling apart (Don't recommend). "Best soft serve in town..." I mean, if by soft serve you mean raw dough, then still no. Yesterday i order a stromboli, what i recieved resembled a loaf of bread with slits containing cheese. When i cut the thing, I noticed what looked a chunk of gooey cheese bust slightly off. I pulled the cut pieces apart to find the entire top part of the "stromboli" (i quote because this was not a stromboli) is raw beyond about half an inch of cooked bread. Now, I worked as a pizza cook for 3 1/2 years, so i know that sometimes, especially with items you dont normally cut, that sending out raw dough can happen. No biggie, ill just call and get the food replaced. Upon calling, im imediately handed over to what i assume is the owner, who after telling him about the raw dough, he tries to tell me thats how they come. He legit tried telling me they serve raw dough to customers on a regular basis. I tried to explain that thats not how a stromboli should be, and he starts to berate and tell me i dont know anything. I then inform him of past pizza experience, and thats why i know you serve raw dough, which he starts screaming at me. I hung up the phone, and walked to the store, "stromboli" in tow. Upon arrival, i set the box on the counter and the owner asks what he can do. I open the box and showed him the loaf, and said that thats no a stromboli. He asked what my problem with the odd shape was, so i pulled the raw dough out of the "stromboli" and showed him. He tried telling me that thats how they are made again, i told him not to BS me, ive worked pizza and thats not how a stromboli is made, then he tries to tell me that it was because of the mushrooms and that they cause the dough to wet and look raw. There is truth to that, but it was a good 2 inches of raw dough. He asks what i want to do then, mind you this entire time hes screaming, so i told him to just refund me. This takes another three minutes of him yelling and trying to convince me that raw dough is acceptable to serve. I get my money, left, and will never go back to Rawltos ever again. read more

Nicely sized, mediocre, beer-hall style pizza. Not a place I'd go out of my way to visit, nor worry about returning to, with so many decent pies in town. Think standard generic pizza without pretensions or aspirations. A little better than Papa-You-Know-Who's--which I consider to be the standard of half-assed pizza. On the plus side, the huge large could easily feed four, and the toppings were generous on the house special--green peppers, black olives, mushrooms, sausage and pepperoni. This combo could benefit from some onions, but we didn't think about it. The crust was on the thick side, but well-made and crispy on the bottom though a little doughy in the middle, and the cheese was applied judiciously compared to old school Pittsburgh style, which isn't a bad thing. The sauce is the real hero here--avoiding the "sweet trap" and carrying nice, savory tang and a little bit of spicy bite. On the negative side, we were turned off by the gouging on drinks--16oz sodas for more than $2.50 and no prices listed on the cooler, likely in hopes we wouldn't notice. These bottles wholesale for around .35, and while I appreciate that restaurants take a big profit from drinks, I resent trying to sneak it past me. Likewise is a 4% surcharge for using debit or credit card. Yes, I know there is a process fee, but we're in the 21st century now and cards are a fact of life. Factor it into the overall cost of doing business, don't spring it on me after the fact. It's not a good look--my pizza was priced at $22.99, we added two bottles of soda, and the girl said "that will be $28--something." Huh? "Well, the two pops were $5.20 and there's a 4% fee for using a card." We put back the drinks and scraped up the cash. The thing is, if the shop had listed the obscenely marked-up drink prices I would have thought, "well, I like supporting small businesses." It wouldn't have been an issue. But as it is, I left feeling like they'd tried to screw me. As for the credit card fee: mark all the food up .50. Don't just add on a fee and hope I don't look at the receipt. read more

The selection and hours are enough to earn a few stars in my book. But any place you can get a pierogi pizza and six pack of Four Loko on a Sunday gets my approval. The best pizza in Greenfield, and, for me, rivals Aiello's in Squirrel Hill. I had the pirogie pizza. It was as warm and inviting as the service and as hot and dense as a dying star. The potatoes were piled generously is what I'm getting at. They would easily be a five star place but it was just a bit on the pricey side and they could do with a couple more chairs. My go to spot for pizza. Easy to get to from the Southside Slopes just a quick 10 min drive. The pizza here is always good and the service is spot on. I like that they have good deals on the pizza especially the XL pie. Another perk is the beer selection one stop shopping is a big plus especially when it doesn't involve multiple stops. Rialto looks pretty unassuming from the outside, but after trying unsuccessfully to find a pizza place to latch onto - one that could make a consistently great pizza - I tried Rialto, which just so happened to be the neighborhood pizza place. The pizza from there has always been fantastic. A plain cheese is the perennial favorite, but with bonus points for their pineapple and onion pizza, which is out of this world. Their sides don't quite match up to their pizza... the Greek salad doesn't have much about it that could be Greek, the zucchini strips leave something to be desired. We ordered Rialto's for pickup last Friday, not wanting to bother with cooking after a long work week. The prices are about what you'd expect, but if you can get your hands on a coupon or a code from AllMenus, then it becomes super cheap - we got a large pizza from $8 due to a coupon code. So look into that! It was ready when they said it would be, and we brought it back to our apartment, ready to dig in. We'd ordered a large "Rialto House" pizza, which is under the specialty part of the menu. We opened the box to discover a mass of fresh toppings - pepperoni, sausage, mushrooms, green peppers, and olives. After a quick warming-up in the oven, we dug in. I have to say, the toppings really make this pizza. Sure, there's sauce and cheese under there, but neither to excess. The toppings, however, are plentiful and high quality. The peppers were fresh and crisp - I even enjoyed the mushrooms which I usually loathe. And they weren't stingy about piling them on - nothing is worse than paying a lot for a pizza and then having to hunt for the few lonely pepperoni slices. You pay for toppings, you should get a bunch of them. The pizza wasn't oily or greasy either. We really enjoyed this pie, and would definitely order again. I think if you're in the mood for greasy, cheesy goodness (which we are, from time to time), this is not the place. But if you want a fresh pizza loaded with toppings and not loaded with grease, I'd recommend Rialto! read more

I must update my review from two years ago. I no longer feel impressed by the taste of their food. I used to love their pierogie pizza, but now I no longer feel satisfied and do not want to finish eating the pizza. The price was sort of high also. My husband's chicken parmesan was very soggy, and he called it "gross". We had called ahead to pick up our order. We had to wait well over the 15 minutes that they had told us. Update: i have really come around to the pizza. The trick is that you need to eat it hot right out of the oven right in the store. It turns out to be a great place to walk to with my son. We get a little pizza. Kill it together and walk home. Sentimental value is increasing. AND THEY ARE STARTING 6 PACKS OF PICK YOUR OWN. our new go to for beer. Hoepfully they will expand it. But good smaller breweries so far. So.... i added another star. Old thoughts: Taste like College pizza- not good, not horrible gross, just boring pizza. I will say they do a lot of fun types of pizza, but we live close to too many really really exceptional good pizzas to waste too much money here. First of all, despite the fact that Rialto has indoor seating, it's not exactly the type of place that you'd want to hang out in. They have TVs that are usually tuned to sports, but they're more for the staff than for you. Rialto is the type of place you order your food for delivery or you go and pick it up. That being said, they have some of the best and most creative pizza in Pittsburgh. Their steak and fries pizza is always one that we get when we have friends in from out of town. The Giant, while being a little more costly per square inch -- yes we did the math on this -- is always impressive when you bring it home to a group of ravenous friends. The pizza is well done, not overly greasy, and generally a good price. If you're someone who lives in Greenfield or Squirrel Hill you owe it to yourself to check them out (actually, if you're in Greenfield, they're the best pizza in the neighborhood). read more

Usually decent. Staff is extremely rude on the phone. Don't apologize when a delivery is 30 mins late, or when there is an issue with your order, or when you arrive and the order has not been completed. Older delivery guy has been to my house, and on several occasions he shoves crushed pizza boxes to me while on the phone yelling at someone on the other end. If you live close, avoid the delivery fee and cold, crushed pizza delivered by an angry disgruntled man. Was charged $12.95 for a 6 pack, when the 12 pack was $13.95. I left without noticing. Called, and asked the employee if he really charged me $12.95 for a 6 pack, and he said "yeah", and I asked is the 12 pack really $13.95, and he said "yeah". And then I asked why he didn't tell me that? Came back to the restaurant where the owner confronted me and started yelling that I was "f*cking yelling" at his employee when I clearly knew the prices and was costing him 50 cents for using my credit card. Well, nothing is clearly labeled, and it's also my prerogative to use a credit card so ... (ps his employee charged me incorrectly for the 12 pack anyways, so the owner got his 50 cents). Due to the hit or miss pizza (30% of the time it's burnt) and being yelled at by the owner when he's trying to swindle local repeat customers, I will no longer be giving them my business. read more

This is easily the worst pizza I have ever eaten in my life. I ordered 2 slices. Rialto "heated" them (read: practically burnt to a crisp) so much that the cheese hardened to the point that it literally chipped off when I attempted to eat it. How does cheese that is supposed to be melted manage to chip off? The crust was so dry and crunchy, I'm surprised I didn't lacerate my throat trying to eat it. I've only had really great experiences with Rialto's. I always order either the spaghetti with meatballs dinner or the Chef's salad. I get everything for pickup. The people I deal with over the phone are always nice and my order is always correct down to details (like extra dressing, extra tomatoes, and no bread sticks). The prices are reasonable. I can't speak for any of the other menu products except for the chicken tenders which I got and liked, also the French fries were good. I didn't like the breaded mushrooms because they seemed slimy but I think that may be the way breaded mushrooms turn out - I'm not sure. Everything else has been very good and I would recommend Rialto's to friends and neighbors. Customer service is very good here. read more

I went in the restaurant to look at the menu and the owner was very rude. I felt rushed to look at the menu and pressured to order my food. Their was a young boy at the register waiting to ring me up and the owner moved him to the side with a nasty attitude and asked me what do I want!!! But mind you I wasn't done looking at the menu. We enjoy ordering for take out from Rialto occasionally, it's location is really convenient to our home. They have a decent amount of seating if you wanted to stay and eat there. Our go to menu item is the XL pizza with pepperoni and mushrooms, they don't skimp on the toppings! They do however charge per topping which can add up. The staff is friendly and helpful. There is a sign out front that says "best soft serve ice cream", I'd skip the soft serve here and stick with the pizza. Overall, if you're looking for good pizza, Rialto won't disappoint. Plus unlike some of the other pizza places around the area they take credit cards which is nice! read more

The 5 best things about Rialto Pizza. 1. The veggie pizza practically comes with a salad on top: fresh, crisp and plentiful. 2. A seriously delicious Italian hoagie. Darn near everyone does them, but Rialto is a cut above. 3. The Rialto Giant (28 inches, 49 slices) is too big to fit in my front door, but if you're having people over for a game or a party it's perfect. Tip: Use it as an incentive on moving day. You'll have more help (and more pizza) than you'll know what to do with. 4. An admirable selection of decently-priced beer means not having to make two stops on the way home. 5.
