Being new to the area, we went with some friends who go there often. I ordered a two meat platter ( hot links and brisket). Both were underwhelming. Very small portions on both sides. The brisket was very dry & the links were average. My wife had some good pulled pork. The standout was our friend's chicken fried steak. I never judge a restaurant on one visit so we will return for the CFS. Their cheese fries were great too. One dry brisket doesn't define them. The wait staff was friendly and efficient. The place is clean and then the next time you come in and serviceservice is terrible places a mess food is not good. So I would say inconsistent. We returned the fried pie twice because the center was cold.. Love this place. Everything is so fresh and tasty. We usually start off with their loaded tater skins with their dynamite ranch sauce. We took a detour on our way to the casino and decided that we should grab something to eat before we got to the casino (as most food items are over priced and lack flavor at the casino). I was content with getting a taco however we both looked up and saw this place sitting to the side and decided let's go try something new. We were there around 2 and there wasn't a whole lot of folks there which always makes me feel some kind of way but at this point we decided let's give it a try. After reviewing the menu my eye caught a lunch special - any two meats and a side for $10.99. Being that we were just trying to put something on our stomach we decided that we would share a plate. We got ribs and sliced brisket (the server was nice enough to give us the option to have it chopped) and fries. The server graciously brought us two plates so we could split the basket and if I tell you that it served us right, it served us right! The french fries came out hot (like duh, they should be but you already know you've been places that they weren't) crispy and seasoned! I literally had fries in each hand and was happy as they hit my mouth. The ribs were tender, I was able to remove the meat from the bone with my fingers and they tasted good naked but when I dipped it in their BBQ sauce . . . It took it to another level! The brisket was good, I took a slice of toast that came with the basket and made a sandwich and at this point I was full as a tick! If I had the basket to myself I would have ended up taking food home with me. So we've decided whenever we are in the area, this is our go to! Worth giving them a try!!! read more

Y'all, this place was absolutely wonderful! We stopped here for lunch based off of previous reviews on Yelp and we were not at all disappointed. The food was very good quantity and quality for the price. In my personal opinion, the lemonade cake is most definitely worth the splurge on dessert. It was amazing! The restaurant was very well clean and maintained. The bathrooms were the cleanest I've ever seen in a restaurant. Lastly, service was wonderful. The waitress checked on us often without being annoying and overwhelming. She was very friendly and personable. She was very attentive and we could even overhear other staff being extremely friendly and attentive as well. Let me start by saying that I love the food here. However, the service at this particular location is pretty substandard. No refills, odd interactions, billing was incorrect, questions were responded to in an irritated manner. The manager came over to address the billing error and actually said "we will do this for you one time, but next time...". Seriously? Like we were trying to take advantage of you with your billing mistake? It made me feel oogie. Then when I asked what she means by that, she offered a voucher for the next visit. The reviews for this place surprise me especially the ones that say best BBQ ever? Really? Texas isn't that far from you. The service is great but the food is absolutely horrible. I'm talking Bill Miller's level of horrible. All the meat is fatty and overcooked. I tried a brisket sandwich and there was so much fat the meat was slimey. I tried pulling off the fat and ends but it was ridiculously chewy. I then tried the Mac and cheese which had no flavor. I told my nice waitress and had her get me a sausage plate. This wasn't any better. The sausage was spongey and tasteless. I spoke to a manager and didn't end up wasting a dime hence two stars instead of one. My hypothesis to the bad food is its all microwaved and cooked at a central location. You're basically paying $15-20 a person to eat leftovers. Please try Rudy's BBQ. It's a lot better. read more

I will say the most important thing right up front. Don't be fooled by the menu: they do have Shiner Bock. I almost missed it, because the menu only lists several crappy bottled beers so I asked if they had anything on draft and they said no. I reluctantly asked for a Bud Lite thinking those were my only options. Luckily I noticed the neon sign in the window: Shiner Bock! The menu does not tell the whole truth! Tuesday night. All you can eat ribs. How can that possibly be bad? And it isn't bad. It is great. No they aren't the best ribs I have ever had but they are barbecued ribs and they are very good. Ask yourself though: how many ribs can you really eat? I bet it isn't very many. I was sure I was going to personally murder like six hogs, but I ended up eating only three plates. That is nine ribs, not even one whole pig. If I had eschewed the sides I might have powered down 12 ribs. I might have even eaten yet a fifth plate if I wasn't afraid to unbutton my pants, but there was some highway patrol officers at the next table and anyway I don't like to offend decent folk if I can afford it. The Rib Crib McAlester is excellent, great service and the ribs and smoked turkey great.

Came in at 11:45AM on a Wednesday. No wait and prompt and courteous service. Ordered the smoked chicken with sweet bbq beans, salad and a rib. The salad was an extra $1.29 and 1 small rib was an extra $2.49. Everything was awesome!!!!! The server was very nice and extremely efficient. If Im ever back in Durant I will be back.
