I've always passed this place because I'm a frequent customer of the jjajangmyun place next door, but this time I made a special point to try this place out. I'm surprised this restaurant is almost always empty when we pass by, because the reviews are great and the food was delicious! I've been to Crab House which I think is probably one of the more popular places in Ktown for raw crab, but I think the food here is even better. The menu is very simple, which is great because it means they specialize and focus on just a few things. We got the small combo A, and it was actually a ton of food for 2 people. We couldn't finish and took a lot of it home! They gave us a variety of banchan and all of it was really good - I'm not really a fan of cabbage kimchi but theirs was so amazing that I ate all of it and I'm tempted to go back and ask if I can buy just some of their kimchi to have at home lol. It was perfectly aged and not too spicy - perfect for stew. They also brought us some of their summer yulmoo kimchi which was super refreshing. I'm not good with spice so we asked for the stew to be less spicy, and they didn't hesitate or judge at all. The stew wasn't as salty as some I've had, but it had a really nice refreshing flavor that wasn't fishy. The crab in the stew was so incredibly sweet and all the crabs we had were packed with meat. The soy sauce crab was loaded with roe, and the owner told us all the crabs are Korean, which tend to be sweeter and have more roe! But more than the food, the service was so sweet and personable that we want to come back just for the owners. I think it's a husband and wife duo that own and operate the store but they were both so kind and kept making conversation. Most of the time when we go out to eat in Ktown the service is sort of professional and aloof, but here they treat you like family. I want them to be my grandparents lmao. When I called the restaurant to ask if they were busy, the husband said, "No, it's not busy! Are you coming??" and it was just really cute because he sounded excited. It's really rare to find people who are so involved in all aspects of their business and still have a welcoming heart and vibe. The food was obviously great but I'd really go back for the hospitality. This is a one in a million experience. 음식도 너무나 맛있었지만 사장님들께서 정말 친절하고 따뜻하게 대해주셔서 가족이랑 식사하는 기분이었어요. 곧 다시 갈게요! 감사합니다

We ordered their small crab combo, which included soy-marinated crab, spicy crab, crab soup, and a kimchi pancake. The portions were generous, and the crab is imported from Korea and was incredibly sweet and delicious. Every bite left us wanting more. The service was warm and friendly, making us feel just like eating at home. Parking wasn't too difficult either; there were some spots available on the street. After trying so many places for marinated crab, I'd say this one is definitely worth recommending.

3 Soy Sauce Marinated Crabs - excellent!

Super fresh, flavorful, sweet and creamy soy marinated Korean crabs here!! We got a combo A large for 5 people and added on an extra crab. perfect for everyone to get a whole raw crab + 2-3 bowls each of the crab stew. Careful bc the stew is pretty spicy with the flecks of gochugaru around. Plenty of veggies in it too, but the sweet crab broth makes it. Service was nice and helpful. Gives me old style Korean hole in the wall vibes, clean interior. No frills, just good food at Rich Crab! Pro tip: bring some Korean toasted seaweed to make some handrolls. SO FIRE.

Came to Rich Crab over the weekend for dinner on Saturday & it was not too busy. Parking lot looked almost full, but they have Valet ($3, best to have exact change) to make life easier... I've been wanting to try Korean raw marinated crab and had Rich Crab saved on my list for a while. I'm glad I finally got a chance to try! Though it was a bit pricey, I think it was worth it. Hubby & I ordered the Combo B (Small - serves 2), which comes with Spicy Seafood Stew, 1 Soy Sauce Marinated Crab, 2 Spicy Marinated Crabs, and Kimchi Pancake + Rice. Their banchan included bean sprouts, boiled leafy greens, kimchi, fish cakes, and seaweed salad. Hubby & I were determined to finish the raw crabs in restaurant and took the rest as leftovers home since we weren't sure if it would spoil taking home. The soup was full of shrimp, fish, clams, and more crab! It was actually a nice palate cleanser when wanting to take a break or have different texture from eating the raw marinated crab. They serve the stew over a portable butane stove so you can keep it warm for as long as you want to. After trying both types, I do prefer the Soy Marinated Crab more. I felt it was creamier and was the better flavor in terms of actually feeling like I was eating the crab. The spicy marinated crab was marinated well, but it was a bit sweet & tasted more like Korean banchan with gochujang flavoring. It does get messy while eating, but they provide a box gloves and even a small bib for us ladies / those who want to keep their clothes clean. The head shell of the soy marinated crab has some yummy juices that pairs so well with the rice. The best way to describe the soy marinated raw crab was I was surprised how creamy the raw crab was (along with the roe/brains? The orange stuff ...) & it just makes for an overall comfort/food bite with the rice. Service was fairly quick & Rich Crab seems to be a small family-run restaurant by an older couple who were kind enough to give hubby some change for the valet. One unisex bathroom that was fairly clean. Will be back when we want to fix our Korean Raw Marinated Crab craving!

Came right at opening this morning with a friend and had the loveliest experience The ambience was cozy and calm, and an older gentleman kindly took our order, which made it feel extra warm and welcoming. We tried the raw marinated crab, soy marinated crab, and bean paste stew; everything was insanely delicious. I usually prefer the spicy raw marinated crab over soy, but this time the soy marinated crab completely won me over. Both were incredibly fresh and amazing. And the banchan was sooooo good. Service was thoughtful and welcoming. Such a special little spot, can't wait to come back!

I didn't catch the name of this soup but it was good

Nestled in a small plaza in Korea Town LA, is Rich Crab which is operated by a sweet Korean couple. They prepped the soy marinated crab backing for us to try. We ordered one of their set menus which came with a kimchi pancake, some seafood soup, 1 spicy marinated crab, and 2 soy sauce marinated crabs. Everything was a 10/10! It was my first time trying raw marinated crab and now I'm hooked. I'd definitely come back here and recommend to anyone looking for the same!

Little tucked away restaurant in LA. It was a great find because the food was amazing. Went here on two different occasions and both times did not fail to amaze. Crabs are stuffed with meat and the sauce is amazing. Highly recommend to anyone wanting marinated crab.

The soy sauce-marinated raw crab is incredibly fresh, with a jelly-like texture that melts in your mouth. The generous amount of crab roe adds a rich, indulgent touch, and you can tell how meticulously they clean and prepare everything, so much so that even with my sensitive stomach, I had no issues after eating it. Their seafood soup is another standout, packed with shrimp, crab, and fish, making it a hearty and satisfying meal. It's the perfect spot for a delicious solo dinner. Beyond the amazing food, the ambience is just as impressive. The entire place is spotless, with no fishy smell at all, which is rare for a seafood restaurant. It's cozy, comfortable, and makes for a truly enjoyable dining experience. Their service is very friendly too

Location 3: Busy area in K-Town, Los Angeles. Impossible to find street parking. There are paid parking lots around, but we opted for the valet that serves the shopping plaza. Venue 3: Basic no frills indoor seating with table service. They do take reservations on Yelp which may be helpful at busty times. Service 3: Polite and attentive. Our order was taken quickly, and food came quickly as well. Food 2.5: This restaurant specializes in crab. Menu is rather small and includes crab plates, carb stews and a few Korean hot pots. The crab plates and stews can be ordered in individual and family portions. Food was just OK and not memorable. Their crab meat (which is their specialty) had a slightly sour taste to it that we had not experienced before. I did like the Spicy Tofu Stew a lot though. Drinks 3: Smaller assortment of beer, soju, soft drinks and tea. The last word 3: Rich Crab was ok, but not what we had hoped for.

Amazing food and service. You can't get more authentic than this! I was looking specifically for a Korean raw marinated crab spot. They do sets that include 2 types of marinated crab, stew, and rice with banchan. We ordered the medium for 4 people and it was plenty of food! The crab was so sweet and fresh. The spicy crab stew was also delicious. The owner also offered us to try an off menu item - raw marinated shrimp, which we really enjoyed. Highly recommend!!

This place has the best marinated craw crab in K-Town. I tried couple places before but their marinated was too salty to my taste so I prefer Rich Crab even it's more expensive than other places. Their crabs are fresh from Korea. Services are friendly and fast.

Rich Crab is one of the best restaurant for raw marinated crabs in Los Angeles, California. I love the fact that it is super simplified and they also offer live sea urchin with their marinated raw crabs. The filling in the crab is in my opinion about "B rated" crab compare to the best marinated crab places in Seoul. The banchan game is strong but it lacks variety and impactfulness. Everything taste great though but very mediocre overall. But its still great including the service. Who am I to complain comparing this to Korea but it is what it is. I would come back here when I'm craving a marinated crabs in Los Angeles. I would recommend this restaurant if you want some sort of decent marinated raw crab sensual orgasm.

My friends and I had never eaten raw marinated crab before, so we decided to try Rich Crab based on the Yelp reviews. The food was delicious, but given the price and the portions shared among 4 people, we found ourselves not satisfied and wanting more. We ordered the Large Combo A. The photo of the large portion is somewhat misleading, as the size increase is mostly due to the soup, not the crab. Regardless of the combo size, you only get one soy-marinated crab. We would have preferred larger crab portions when ordering a larger combo, rather than more soup or sides, since we came specifically for the raw marinated crab.

We started with the oyster sampler featuring selections from Hollywood, MD; Pope's Bay, VA; Buzzards Bay, MA; Chesapeake Bay, VA; and Wellfleet, MA. The oysters were exceptionally fresh and served with great accompaniments. We always order oysters when visiting seafood restaurants because freshness is so important to us, and Water Grill absolutely delivered. A must-order. The grilled Spanish octopus, served with fingerling potatoes, Niçoise olives, roasted tomato, pine nuts, and olive oil, was very good (3.5/5). We're fairly picky when it comes to octopus, and while we would have liked a bit more char, it was still among the better versions we've had. The New Zealand king salmon sushi with avocado, hazelnuts, papaya, and white soy-lime vinaigrette was fresh, clean, and delicious (5/5). While not particularly unique, it was executed perfectly. The crispy calamari with harissa aioli and cilantro-mint sweet chili sauce was also well done (4/5)--crispy, not oily, and very enjoyable. Calamari is another dish we frequently order, and this version met our standards, even if it wasn't especially memorable. The standout among the appetizers was the New Zealand pink bream ceviche with cilantro, red peppers, onions, lemon juice, and olive oil. The presentation was beautiful, and the flavors were incredibly fresh (5/5). We only added a touch of salt. This is another must-order dish. The Peruvian bay scallops with pistachio citrus pesto were somewhat underwhelming (3/5), and the Brussels sprouts with bacon and chestnuts (3/5) didn't leave much of an impression either. The lobster itself was excellent (5/5)--sweet, fresh, and perfectly prepared. The accompanying coleslaw wasn't our favorite, but we'd happily order the lobster again and probably go for a larger portion next time. The absolute star of the evening was the Massachusetts black sea bass. It was easily one of the best dishes of the night and possibly one of the best fish dishes we've ever had at a restaurant (5/5). Tender, juicy, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. To top it all off, the restaurant surprised us with a complimentary birthday dessert featuring chocolate cake, vanilla cake, oatmeal cake, and ice cream. It was thoughtful, delicious, and a wonderful ending to the meal (5/5). Overall, Water Grill earns a well-deserved 5/5. The quality and freshness of the seafood were outstanding, the beachfront ambiance was beautiful, and the service was friendly and attentive throughout the evening. Definitely a must-try seafood destination in Los Angeles. Thank you to the entire team for such a memorable experience--we truly appreciated it.

People indoors seemed to be receiving their food just fine, but the larger tables outside suffered. For hours. We got pretty much zero communication on what was happening; it took almost 2+ hours to receive any cooked food whatsoever. The raw items came out 15-20 minutes into the meal, which meant that we sat for the majority of the time with no entrees and no updates. Keep in mind that one of the hot items we ordered was the clams and mussels - a steamed dish that was literally dumped into a bowl with a pile of raw garlic and fries on top. The broth had a strong alcohol taste that did not cook off. Super underwhelming and disappointing after the 2 hour wait. Moreover, dishes came out seemingly at random, so our table of 4 people ate at different times, with no coordination (I realize some items are family style here, but sandwiches are clearly not). It's not fun/convivial for everyone when some have already completed their meal, and others have not even taken a first bite of their entrees. Ultimately they did offer to take the bread and one tostada off or our bill. A concession, but by no means an acknowledgment of the unpleasant overall experience. I think we're going to give this place a long break. And maybe only come back on a weekday when they're hopefully less busy.

I've only ever ordered…read morefrom their "galley", which I think is what they call their kitchen, but I know they also sell raw seafood as well, in addition to a few other things in their small market. One of my favorite things to get at Fish King is the plate with the swordfish skewers. This dish is honestly so unique, and I haven't found anything like it anywhere else. It's basically two shish-kebab style sticks of seasoned swordfish, peppers, and tomatoes, and it's served with a few sides in addition to fried veggies and shrimp. I also really enjoy their tacos. They also have very generous servings of poke (I personally don't get the poke from here because it's already mixed in with raw onions and I don't like raw onion). Prices are all very reasonable--the swordfish plate I mentioned earlier is around $15 and a pretty large amount of food. Fish King does get pretty busy especially around mealtimes so it's better to order in advance and pick up so that you don't have to wait around as long. I think if you order in person, you can expect a 20-30 min wait when it's busy. There's a small lot on the side of the market and sometimes you can find street parking too. There are some tables on both ends of the market so you can dine in, it's very casual.

They know everything about their fish and even the things they sell that you want to use to make your fish. The place is always clean and fresh smelling. The prices are very fair. The wait for service is never long. They have the best salmon and white fish around. They clearly get fresh fish daily. We have never had a bad experience. They even have a place to eat and they make prepared food for you. It is wonderful. Parking is easy and the staff is the best so have fun and go there. You will not be disappointed.

We ordered the Crab cake, perfectly packed together where it wasn't too dense but gently molded. It was packed with umami and this refreshing citrus after taste..it was so damn good. French fries, were a must crispy tasty fries did not disappoint. Spanish octopus, cooked to perfection- lots of interesting flavors and textures we enjoyed. Lastly we shared the tacos (1 cod 1 shrimp), tasty fat tacos. Accompanied with fresh chips and the guac and salsa that was tasty. What really set it for us, was while we were wrapping up the meal. Me and fiancé were toasting to my late dad, today was his birthday. Well we asked for the check and planned to skip dessert. Well before we left our server had packed us the key lime pie to take home..just because. God lord, the timing of toasting my dad, and the generosity had me literally fighting tears. It really was a remarkable meal, we loved every bite. Our server whoever you are your f*cking wondeful and the team you are doing amazing work thank you.
