You can see the artisans creating new pieces while you browse through their finished works. They create almost perfect illusions that look like painting, but are actually constructed of individual pieces of stone, sourced and selected from around the world. Well worth the visit, especially if you can combine with a visit to the museum at the Oppificio della Pietre Dure, and the famous Medici Chapels which feature historical examples of this art.
