My experience with him was unprofessional, unethical, and emotionally damaging. ​His communication was extremely poor, and he blamed me for his failures. The most shocking incident occurred when he verbally abused and cursed at me outside a courtroom. He claimed this was because I rejected a settlement offer from the defendant. However, I was never made aware of this offer and therefore never had the opportunity to accept or reject it. When I asked him a simple question about a document he claimed I had sent, he became enraged. He cursed and screamed at me, reminding me of the very abuse I was seeking protection from. I was left not only terrified and embarrassed but also in fear for my safety as I was in my wheelchair. ​Because of this, I was robbed of thousands of dollars. Mr. Vigneault rejected a settlement on my behalf, and his subsequent rage cost me a fair resolution. When I sought a new attorney,as soon as he he found this out from opposing counsel he called me and charged me an additional near $5,000. Punishment for trying to look for a new attorney. He stopped representing me and allowed opposing counsel to decrease not only my monthly spousal support but threatening me causing me not to think straight because I was terrified of him and what would happen to me and my disabled children. My support was lowered, and the duration of it was drastically reduced. ​I believe his handling of my case was based on his personal moods and anger, not on the law or my best interests. It seems I am not the only client to have been treated this way. The behavior I experienced was not only unethical but also abusive. ​I sincerely hope the Ethics Committee will investigate his law firm. If you are considering hiring this attorney, I strongly advise you to seek legal counsel elsewhere.
