Visitors put wildflowers at the base of the tower by the sealed door which was so nice. 5 stars!!!!

This was the first time we have hiked up to the tower and we have to say that we were not disappointed. The walk itself was fairly low impact and didn't take very long. Once we got to the top we enjoyed sitting by the tower while taking in the serenity of the wood. Overall it was a great experience and we would totally hike here again.

No, it's not the quaint old hundred year old, yellow building that everyone in Greenfield has loved for generations. You know what that means? It means it is energy efficient. It also means it's quiet. They also means it has great light. I can't really speak to the collection because I do most of my library borrowing online but what makes libraries really important these days is an entire room for children & an entire room for teens. And that means there a workplaces and tables and books for everybody else other places that are quiet and available. There is an entire hallway of nice spacious, clean all gender, bathrooms. Thank you. And a big parking lot. Not that e we are supposed to drive anymore, but you know a lot of us need to get here.

Nobody greeted me and they actually looked irritated that I was going in the library to possibly check out a book and they might have to leave their plant sale. They have free magazines and pay what you can books. Giving them the benefit of the doubt and three stars not two as this may have just been a bad day for them.

Harrisville is a beautiful little town in Southern New Hampshire that is so original that the…read moreentire town is listed as a National Historic Landmark. The town was built in the 1870's in a picturesque setting surrounded by ten lakes. The buildings are mostly old brick. There is a lovely old mill that now houses several shops. The library is tiny and sits right on the water. A small beach park has a playground, but is only open to residents. The general store that serves breakfast and lunch is the hub of the town. We took a driving tour of the scenic town and surrounding area. The fall foliage around the lakes is breathtaking. Harrisville has to be one of the most beautiful places on earth. There are no fast food places, big box stores or gas stations. There is limited parking at the mill and general store. Many of the roads are narrow or gravel covered. Internet is intermittent, so a map is handy. People are friendly.

Not only did it provide information about the buildings but it was a mini history lesson, walking you through the happenings when the buildings were built or in operation. All the buildings seemed to be in good shape but some could use a fresh coat of paint. There were not a lot of people there, so it was really quiet and enjoyable. Located not far from the covered bridge that carries her name, this historical marker provides some…read morecontext. There is a bit of room to pull over and read the marker. It reads, "Eunice Williams. Eunice Williams, wife of the Reverend John Williams "The Redeemed Captive," was killed at this place on March 1, 1704, during the Deerfield massacre." The marker was erected in 1930 by the Massachusetts Bay Colony - Tercentenary Commission. It does not have a number. Online, there is more information. In 1704, Mohawk Indians raided the frontier town of Deerfield, Mass. They captured local pastor John Williams, along with his family. Most of the family (those who didn't die in the attack or aftermath) would be ransomed - all but a seven-year-old girl the Mohawks refused to free. Eunice Williams, born Sept. 17, 1696, would spend the rest of her life with the Mohawks. She converted to Catholicism and married a Mohawk Catholic. Her family never gave up trying to bring her home, but when they finally reached her as an adult it was too late. She refused to return, and her Puritan family never got over the loss.
