I was apprehensive when we first booked this reservation for our Philippine trip. So we read…read morereviews & based our choice on our past visits at Marriott hotels. Iloilo my hometown in the Philippines was once a sleepy town that has developed into a tourist spot. Our 6 day stay was amazing. We purchased the buffet breakfast & we're glad we did. It was a complete with omelet station, native fruits both American & Filipino breakfast. They had Mangosteen, Lancôme's & Dragon Fruit, super delish! The service was top notch. Whenever we needed or requested anything the staff promptly responded. They were friendly & we're determined ti provide great service. The rooms were very nice & spacious with a nice view of the city. Nicely located in the call center districts. The Call Center industry is big business there. Lots of food choices, just 2 blocks away, in the nearby Festive Walk Mall & Korea town. The pool area was beautiful with a nice bar & different theme parties at night. We enjoyed the disco night. Since this city is growing they sometimes experience power outage (blackouts) but not at this hotel. This was my husband's first visit & he loved it. This will be our first choice on our next visit.

If I have any concerns with the room, they promptly take care of it. If I want to move rooms they do their best to give me the room (view) I want. Shout out to Alexa who remembers me every time I come which is almost every year. I have entertained guests at poolside and food (room service) was impressively presented and very good. The only thing that I wish they would change is the front entrance . If I want to be just dropped off curbside I have to walk all around the block unless I cut across some landscaping. Maybe have steps installed at least? If I want to go to the nearby mall, I have to walk down the driveway where I would encounter cars coming through for checkpoint which is really awkward, inconvenient and definitely hazardous.

Not ideal if you have kids, if you ask me. The breakfast buffet is great since there are plenty of options. Both American and Filipino dishes are readily available. Location is ideal as well. Housekeeping is average but are attentive to our requests as far as amenities. Laundry service is also available but kind of pricey even in thinking dollars. The best part though is the breakfast buffet and they change it up every day. It starts from six in the morning until 10am. This place is still new and pretty popular to tourists or visitors in this city. The downside and you thought I was finished-nope! Restroom does not have a fan that circulates the air after showers. Nothing airs out bcs there are no windows. Moisture will not clear out or keeps everything in it kind of wet. The solution for this is to keep the shower door open and the main bathroom door open to air out. It helps-trust me. Beds are full beds and very comfortable too. I had a pleasant stay here as well. If you don't have a driver, GRAB is familiar with this hotel for pickup and drop off. Make sure you have enough load in your GRAB account. Overall, this hotel is pretty amazing. The only comment I have is that, they use too much freshener. It's very strong especially for people who are sensitive too smile. I think they can tone it down to halfway and milder scent. Otherwise, this place is perfect for a more pleasurable, comfy experience. It's Pretty close to SM shopping mall to and walking distance to other restaurants and shopping areas. I would stay here again. Book in advance for best rates.

Standards here are generally low in so many ways that any rating is adjusted to match somewhat with the competition. So this aging hotel has seen much better days. Although the front desk and cleaning staff are good, the rooms barely okay, with only one threadbare big towel, cheapest of smelly soaps, marginal bed and mattress and ugly outdoor scenery if there is any: this place not fully a budget hotel, yet. The restaurants are gone on both floors and are combined in the simply dreadful Summer House chinese restaurant adjacent to the main hotel. The complimentary breakfast is drek next door, with the only safe dish being garlic kangkong and the battered fish missing the fish and the rest just disagreeable in almost every way. At least the little banana can't be ruined by sloppiness and tight-fisted cheapness that I attribute to the chinoy owners. The free wifi is quite good, but the only way to enjoy a more pleasant stay in this barely marginal place is to befriend the front desk staff and slowly win them over with your friendly demeanour. Stay here if you don't know better. Recommendations? Home Square in a better area in the old city is newer and better, as is People's Hotel further away, or try Days Inn if you have the budget.

With safe box, flat screen tv, telephone for front desk calls only, and a folding desk for laptops and writing. No water heater. No complimentary bottled water or coffee. If you book with a family more than 4, better to eat out of the room. They provide table and chairs outside the room, near the elevator. Check In was easy. Present id and go hotel membership card for points. Not happy about the shampoo and soap included in the room. Two towels provided. No face towels. Expensive rate if they provide cheap toiletries and limited towels. If you want to call outside number (local or international), you have to go down the front desk and use the phone. Most of the services are upgrade. It means, more expense. WiFi is included. They provide schedule for room clean up, just hang the door sign. Checked in the 5th floor. Still noisy because of the sound system for dinagyang. No breakfast included. If this was not close to the dinagyang stage area, I won't booked at this hotel. Bored? Go down and enter the mall of Robinson's for your JCO donuts and coffee, there is groceries, pharmacy and department store.

As we were walking to our room, the hallway smelled bad and it wasn't very clean. In the room, the air conditioning did not work and we immediately saw a cockroach crawling on the floor. The room was not clean! There were stains on the bedsheets and pillow cases!! At this point, we were already disappointed. Even worse, we found spiders, cockroaches and ants crawling around the room. The bathroom was not clean and there was a cockroach ON THE TOILET SEAT! The water from the sink and the toilet were dirty and brown, definitely not safe. We decided we were not going to stay in this room so we when to the front desk to have our rooms switched. Turns out the second room was the same but with even more cockroaches under the bed. My group and I were not going to stay here and we transferred hotels. Thankfully the staff was kind enough to give us a full refund and help load our luggage's into the car. I wish I had a WHOLE day (or two!) to explore this entire resort!…read more No, for real, next time I come through Bacolod, I am hiding out here for at least a couple of days! Last tourist spot to hit, we only had a few hours to spare. Hubbers, cuzzos and I opted for the hot springs, and the rest of our party went for massages. And the hot springs was enough. An hour before, we were in the bustles of the city. An hour later, it seems we're on a whole different planet. We were surrounded with nothing but the greeneries of the forest and the sounds of its residents and the nearby stream. It's a different kind of paradise. I haven't felt this relaxed in awhile! This whole resort has a lot to explore. Accommodations come in different forms: hotel, regular cottages, family cottages, etc. There's a walking path to waterfalls. Plenty of pools and a lagoon. Like I mentioned there's a massage center. Two days may not even be enough! But what a way to end our tour of Bacolod! So glad we have fam here to show us around! Definitely looking forward to coming back!

My cousin (Megan), best friend (Jani) and I were smart enough to do the trekking first. Our aunt had told us that we had to see the falls. So off we went to see the falls. The guide told us that it would take us one hour to get to the falls. I thought that climbing up would be easy. It wasn't. I also thought that the first falls we saw was the legit one. It wasn't. There are six small falls you pass before you get to the one you can swim in. After an hour of dragging ourselves up to the falls, the only thing we could say was, "Worth it!" This resort has other things to do as well. There's a spa. You know, after trekking, you can relax here. There's a food court if you're too lazy to bring your own food. They have many swimming pools. Some are hot. Others are cold (unless a kid starts peeing in the pool). There's a lagoon for boating. They also have a slide for life which is pretty cool. They also have a canopy walk in which you walk through the resort a number of feet from the ground. I suggest that you bring a car when you go to this resort. It's big! And for those who aren't really into trekking or outdoor activities, your body will hurt and it's hard to walk around from one activity to the next. Take a car. Also, reserve early. There are huts for the day and there are rooms for night. Plan which activities you want to go to and which you can forgo. But if I were you, I'd make it a point to go up to see the falls.
