The momos were ordered as appetizers, which I assume means they're intended to arrive before the meal. Ours showed up just as we were finishing our entrées. Maybe they were traveling from Nepal on foot. The goat curry was actually pretty good, which briefly gave us hope. Then the garlic naan arrived and tasted suspiciously like something that had recently completed a successful career at Costco. If they have a tandoor, it's apparently being used for storage. To add to the experience, there was live singing. Unfortunately, the entertainment seemed to receive more attention than the food. My humble suggestion: spend less time rehearsing songs and more time rehearsing recipes. The grand finale? The morning after, both my son and I were dealing with indigestion. Nothing severe, but it was a fitting encore to an already memorable evening. I rarely write negative reviews, but when a restaurant charges premium prices, I expect more than tiny appetizers, delayed food, questionable naan, and a digestive adventure. The biggest mystery of the night remains how this place maintains such a high rating.

The highlights were garlic naan, Lamb Vindaloo, and of course the Tandoori Chicken. The only criticisms was that the Chili Naan was way too spicy. I like heat and Indian heat never really gets my mouth burning. This Chili was really just raw hot peppers in the Naan. Tikka masala was actually not great either. Favorite of the below was the lamb vindaloo followed by the tandoori chicken. The somosas were my favorite I've had to day- gotta get the lamb. They had those funky little indian pickles too which were great. Super aromatic. I felt it seeping through my pores (in a great way) for the next few days. Momo was solid but I'd either switch to chicken chili fry Momo or chicken 65 next time. This was our order: 2 orders of tandoori chicken 1 order of chicken tikka masala 1 order of lamb vindaloo 1 order of palak paneer 1 order of Momo 3 orders of samosas 1 order of onion pakora 4 orders of naan 4 orders of chutney 1 order of raita 1 order of pickles 1 order of dessert And we ate it all! 6 of us. We missed the lunch specials which go from 11am - 2:30pm. This is located @ 3400 River Road in Franklin Park just 2.8 miles south of The Fashion Outlet Mall on the west side of River Road. Don't blink or you'll drive right by it. Trust me when I say you won't want to do this. When we arrived we were the only people there. We were greeted by Kennedy our server. He recommended an item from the Chefs Recommendation a Maharaj Mix Grill that came w/an assortment of meats like Tandori Chicken (excellent), Seekh Kabob (ground lamb sausage (excellent), Malala Kabob (chicken seasoned w/yogurt, cream cheese, garlic, cardamom & nutmeg, Dal & Butter Chicken. This also came w/lentil beans, grilled naan bread (charred) excellent. This all came on a small iron skillet w/grilled onions sizzling on the iron skillet.. We also ordered a dish of mild butter chicken that for me should have been spicer but that's the way my wife wanted it). There was a tiny condiment w/a spicy green sauce which helped w/the mild butter chicken & a milder red sauce. The Chefs Recommendation of Maharaj Mix Grill was $28. This was an awesome choice as it came w/a great assortment of different meats, grilled onion, grilled naan bread, lentil beans, a portion of butter chicken & basmati white rice. The stand alone butter chicken for me was lacking some spice & had too much sauce & not enough chicken. For dessert they brought us hot sweet ball w/a syrupy sauce that was tasty. I throughly enjoyed this meal as the flavors, seasoning & spices were very good. Kennedy was our server for the bulk of our meal but he must have left @ 4pm (shift change) because we had a different server. Either way the food & service was excellent.
