Some shops are empty and others are being remodeled and opening again. I visited on a Friday (Valentine's Day) and it was pretty steady but not packed, I could find a place to sit down and relax by myself if I wanted to (and I did!) Shop selection is meh, I went into a few but didn't find anything to purchase which is just fine by me - I needed a place to hang out that was warm and this was it! Ridgedale is a pretty chill mall. I usually end up here for happy hour at Kona then we walk around to walk the food & drinks off after. There's only a handful of store I really shop at here but I'm sure overall there's something for everyone. I feel like Ridgedale has been one of the consistent malls (as far as growing up in MN and seeing a lot of malls struggle to keep stores) that never felt like it was closing. I do wish they would decorate more especially for the holidays. They have the Santa pop up in the middle of the mall which is cute but that's its own experience. Also a somewhat better food court would be cool, but there are a ton of options for food outside of the mall/in the area. They do host cool events from time to time like the traveling Hello Kitty Cafe, which is cool. read more

After visiting the Pronto Pups truck at Boom Island Brewing Company earlier this month, I didn't have anything planned the first Saturday that I was back in the Twin Cities. It was my first time in Minnetonka, so I played things by ear. I did need a place to find a Vikings t-shirt. I thought that Dick's Sporting Goods would be perfect. I did a search and the closest store was at Ridgedale Center. I drove over to shop at this store. This mall has a lot of parking. I pulled into a spot and headed over to Dick's. Well, that was the original plan. I saw a pink truck nearby and decided to check it out. The mall had a Hello Kitty Cafe popup store in a pink bus. I had never seen or heard of it before. I decided to line up. I ended up getting a Hello Kitty key chain, tote, a set of two pins, and a set of sugar cookies in Sanrio characters (Keroppi, My Melody, and Hello Kitty). I stood in line for maybe two hours. It was a warm day and it was well worth it. I headed over to the mall to finally check it out. I found a Chatime as an island stand. I passed by it three times during my entire shopping excursion: - I needed a washroom and passed by Chatime the first time. The women's washroom was clean and inviting. No complaints. - I wanted bubble tea the second time. There was a sign saying that orders wouldn't be taken for the next fifteen minutes. I shopped some more. - An hour later, I returned and got my bubble tea fix. My favourite find at this mall was Urban Outfitters. It was my first time hitting this store at a mall. Staff were so friendly. I oddly ended up getting a Sanrio t-shirt at this store and not at the popup. The nice, flamboyant man working at the dressing room look at my pink Hello Kitty bag and asked how the popup went. He was great. I found my Vikings t-shirt at Fan HQ. I love it. It has a ringer neck and is super comfy to wear. Mission accomplished! I didn't hit the food court. However, I finally at dinner at Big Bowl. It has been around the Twin Cities for probably a couple of decades at least. However, I never went there when I lived in the state because I pretty much avoided Chinese restaurants. I made Chinese food at home, so why get some when I could try other cuisines? I loved my time at this eatery. I finally visited Dick's on my way out. It's a huge two-floor store. It had a rock-climbing wall that looked impressive. It had Wild, Vikings, and Twins apparel. There wasn't anything that I wanted, likely because I get my Wild merchandise at the Hockey Lodge and I just got my Viking t-shirt. I still don't own any Twins apparel, though. I loved this mall. It was a cool find and I enjoyed spending a few hours on a Saturday exploring it. I'd return for Urban Outfitters alone. (420) read more

June 2022, it's just the beginning of summer, but it's been an extremely hot one! My friends and I wanted to exercise, yet stay cool, so on this Sunday, we decided to walk Ridgedale Center. This mall is an excellent place to walk to shelter from extreme weather, which we get living in Minnesota, both hot and cold. We took advantage of the spaciousness, used the stairs going both up and down, and we got a pretty good workout! In between, we got healthy treats at Jamba Juice and did some window shopping as well. There still isn't a food court, and the eateries are spread out, but that adds a nice charm to the mall. read more

The bathroom in the mall by JCPennys need some serious attention. None of the stalls lock in the women's bathroom and the area just generally stinks. For a place that seems to be reviving, this needs some work! read more

If you come at the right time, you can catch a RIDGESALE If you eat the whole food court, you might become a RIDGEWHALE If you can't find the mall, then it's an epic RIDGEFAIL But if you wanna mall shop in Minnetonka, go to RIDGEDALE WHAT This mall to the west of the city is pretty cool and has some good stories. It dominates the area and you can see it from miles around. It's one of those big old style malls but it has been updated sufficiently to make it still very viable in the modern day.. Nothing really fancy about this one. Absolutely nothing like the Mall of America down in Bloomington. It's in Minnetonka, so if you're a honky minnetonka woman, this mall is perfect for you. So this is a sleepy little Mall out in the west suburbs of Minneapolis. It looks pretty fancy and new on the inside and outside. It's a shame that more people don't come here because it is a pretty good facility and I've seen much more run-down awful malls getting much more attention and traffic. It's close to the YMCA that I use in the west suburbs of Minneapolis and the only problem with this mall is that getting in and out of the mall and also in and out of Minneapolis itself from this area can be an absolute nightmare with traffic. I actually saw more cute people in this mall than I did in the others in the Minneapolis area, which is surprising because I expected that to happen at the Mall of America, but that seems more kid-oriented. It's nothing like sexy Texas malls, but for people watching, even though this one is quiet, it'll do. It's a two way street though. They watch me too. Now I need to go and make a salad, mostly I just use Ridgekale. It'll help flush all this dirty voyeurism out of my system. read more

My favorite place in this area! Has awesome stores, several restaurants, and plenty of parking. Macy's and Bath and Body Works are two of my favorite stores. Selection is top notch, they always have plenty of good stuff to buy, prices are fair, and everyone is usually smiling. One thing that sets this place apart from a lot of other places is they are handicap accessible. The elevator in the center of the building is tops! A lot of places don't think about it and before this year I hadn't given it much thought either but it requires a different perspective to shop being handicapped and accessibility can make or break a person's business relationship with you. Happily in this case I'm going to remain patronizing this business. The facility is directly off the main freeway so finding it is super convenient. read more

Another review. The upkeep of this mall has really gone downhill. They removed all the live plants. They have had a broken water main for close to three weeks. The parking lot still needs a ton of work. The directories inside don't work. The escalators work sometimes. The back hallways are dirty and slippery. And now.... Someone smoking marijuana the mall. It would be nice if they opened the doors to regular mall hours and let in mall walkers at 8:00 am. read more

Looking back at pictures of Ridegdale Center 5 years ago to now is seriously unbelievable!! I remember going shopping with friends and struggling to find places to go, stores that closed down, we're having closing sales and a lot of empty areas. I can say I honestly thought that Ridgedale Center was just going to close ta doors as a mall. Going back this past week I couldn't even believe the transformation it has undergone!!! The Disney Store, Lolli and Pops, White Barn, Old Navy, The Disney Store, Lululemon and Nordstrom all added with plenty of other changes! Everything looked new, the mall was actually buzzing with life! Every store we went in had people shopping, and we really loved seeing the Pottery Barn and Williams Sonoma!! They were so fresh and modern! Even all the new restaurants they added like the Cheesecake Factory, Redstone and Kona Grill make Ridegale Center feel like more of a destination rather than a quick pit stop before going to MOA. I will say some of the kiosks in the mall could use some updating, they are still a little bulky and placed poorly in small hall areas so you have to pass by the sales folk. Being handed a sample or coupon is one thing, but doing it to then ask you a question or say something to try and rope you in is just an uncomfortable situation. I know they have to do it, but with the kiosks placed in like every main hallway it's almost impossible to avoid. Along with this, there seems to be one area by the elevator that consistently changes, I don't know if it is on purpose or not, but I've been told it has been quite a few different places in the past couple years and wonder why it's such a struggle to find a permanent attraction for that area. Overall, I would absolutely recommend you go and check our everything they have done in the past few years. There are SO many stores, and actual quality not place fillers, to shop in as well as quite a few restaurants to dine in! Our favorites are White Barn, The Disney Store, The MN store on the top floor by Lululemon, Redstone and The Cheesecake Factory!! I will update with pictures next time I go! read more

This mall tops other suburban malls I've been to. I went with my son yesterday just to stroll around and I was pleasantly surprised at the variety in this space. It's quite larger than I had expected. Very clean and quiet space. I was most impressed by their play area for children near Nordstroms. I think it's new, but it's so cute with plenty for kids to entertain themselves with for at least an hour or 2. The only thing missing is an attendant to watch the kids while parents shop! (One day right?) Overall, I was very happy. There is ample parking and I plan to visit more stores and the food court next time. read more

This was my first visit to this shopping mall in Minnetonka. Buildings appear to be modern looking, pathways to the major exits seem well designed, and the types of stores are top end big box stores such as Nordstroms and Macy's. Restaurants are plentiful and a Kona Grill is part of the choices to have a great meal. The mall is clean and well maintained. I was surprised to see a well maintained shopping center west of Minneapolis. read more

I mainly shop online and try to avoid malls whenever possible. But when my girlfriend found out we could take pics with our pup sitting on Santa's lap (and after my woman broke through my "Great Wall of No" by begging me in to submission) I caved. Damn it. After 15 to 20 minutes of driving from Minneapolis, we arrived. Like all other suburban malls, it's clean, chains fill the place throughout, and most importantly, it has an Aunt Annie's Pretzel... I love Aunt Annie's Pretzel... ***** In the middle of the mall madness resided Santa, and his teenie-bopper elves, in this makeshift wooden house-without-a-roof structure. We waited behind other crazy dog owners and their four-legged friends for only ten minutes. When we arrived at the front we sat on both sides of "Santa," while he held Cranberry. I tried to talk to the brotha, but he just kept weirdly and nervously chuckling. Seriously, he just kept laughing like I was about to steal his lunch money, and I'm unsure of whether or not he could speak. Kind of sad. Okay.... We paid an exorbitant amount of money ($32.10) for seven poor quality photos THAT WERE ALL THE SAME. The lighting and zoom could have been better. So why thee stars? They have Lids, and I love my Minnesota sports teams (even though I'm sure they've caused me to grow those two white hairs in the back of my head). I got myself a black-on-black Vikes fitted, and my boo a purple and gold knitted beanie. I won't return for those pictures with Santa, though. read more

You know, it's funny. Childhood holds a great deal of power. What does that have to do with this review? My childhood. Ridgedale is the mall of my youth. This was a place that once held retail locations like Woolworth's (which I miss) and JoAnn Fabrics (my mom's favorite place), as well as 4 escalators in the central mall area (just beyond the department store located near those corners)...something that shoppers would be surprised to learn these days (and if you're not surprised, well, so much for me attempting to be dramatic). I happened to be at Ridgedale on the night of the Nordstrom's opening. Before I go any further, you MUST KNOW I hate shopping, malls, trying on clothes, etc. Release me to go food shopping and I'll be thrilled with giddy tears, but when one reads the book, "The Life-changing Magic of Tidying Up" by Marie Kondo and then gets rid of 75% of their wardrobe because it doesn't "spark joy," then it's only a matter of time before you have to cave in and by a pair of black pants that will live up to this standard (and to be perfectly honest, I'd rather just wear sweatpants and a hoodie if I could get away with it). I was on the hunt and wanted to increase my chances of finding the perfect joyful pair. Btw, those black pants weren't at Nordstrom's, but more surprisingly (& affordably) at JCPenney. I've seen the changes and the image upgrades over the last 3+ decades and it's intriguing to watch them go through this next shift. As I write this, there are MANY empty retail sites...BUT most of the sites are spoken for and are being filled with pretty classy retailers. Ridgedale has done a great job in "keeping up with appearances" compared to any other mall that I've been to in the Twin Cities (Rosedale, Knollwood, Brookdale, Southdale). And even though I mentioned I hate shopping, I can still see myself coming back in the next couple of months to see the changes and to people watch. read more

You can catch me at this mall more than a few times a month! This is my favorite mall to go to. It's always extremely clean, bright and has so many stores to check out. I usually bring my son here to the PLAY area so he can run around and play before we shop for a few hours. The PLAY place is such a great concept: it's free and has a bunch of things for kids to do from crawling up to 12+! It's the perfect place to go for a free indoor playground year round. Besides the play place we like to check out the events that are always going on down in the main center area (Santa, Easter Bunny, Celebrity photo ops, book signings) and shop the local vendors that are in the kiosks. I love the variety of stores they have ranging from big box to small Minnesota shops. Also the food selection is amazing for a mall! You have your choice of classic food court food ( no pizza tho..) or you can choose to have a nice sit down lunch or dinner at one of the many restaurants in the mall! I'm a mall rat, and I always will be so thank you Ridgedale for making such a beautiful mall for me to loiter for hours in! read more

What a cute mall! I love the layout-very unique, easy to understand, and not too large where you can get lost in it. I found myself here after trying to find a specific pair of gloves for my fiance' at Nordstrom, and ended up wandering around just to see what other stores the mall had to offer. For me personally, all of my go-to's are there, including my all time favorite chocolate shop, Lolli and Pop's! The mall has free Wi-Fi all throughout, is easy to get too off of the 394, and the staff around the mall are friendly. Something I also liked that I've only seen at this mall around the cities are the temporary tabling and pop up stores that are on the first floor. A few weeks ago I saw a local Minnesota t-shirt company there, and another local company installing some wooden art in the lobby area. read more

Love the new play area at Ridgedale center. It has much bigger space and the play items for kids are new and not the normal slide and climb ones we find in other play areas. This one is so cool even I want to be here all day. I hear this is only temporary. Please let it be here round the year. It's very difficult to find a decent play area for kids in nearby cities. Oh, my dear mall. You have a warm spot inside my heart. This is the mall where I used to "hang out" when I was in high school. That was three degrees ago and $$$$ grand in student loans, but Im none of the wiser and still love this place. The location is great as it is surrounded by a whole bunch of stuff you may need. Theres dicks and macaroni grill. Oh, the grill, the site of my first first date!! The mall itself has a simple layout. There is Search, Kohls, and Macys, used to be Marshall fields. Caribou, Express, Bebe, Jamba, Bath and Body works, Lenscrafters, Vision world, Victoria secret, Love from Minnesota, The Limited, the limited too, J.Jill, Ann Taylor, Amercomie, Coach, Godiva, Aveda and one of my favorites stores, THE AFTERNOON, if you are there you must check it out. And they have chipotle, yes! There is a whole bunch of jewelry stores, every possible cart and cellphone provider. Bunch of Asian ladies selling wigs and crocks. Overall, shoppers paradise. The food court is standard, but you have choices, Chipotle, for moi. Or Sushi. There's Godiva there too. Beware lots of teens and tweens go there, so avoid it on weekends. They try to keep it clean and nice. Bathrooms are nice. The waterfall elevator is a little tacky, but its ok. There are even a few security guards there, who partol. We ended up in Ridgedale Center for the Hello Kitty Café. After we got our goods, we went in to look around. The bathrooms were clean. The mall was hustle and bustle the day we went. We didn't look around for the food court much but did stop at Lolli and Pop, grabbed some snacks on the way out. I haven't been to any of the malls in the Twin Cities area other than Rosedale and Maplewood but I liked this one compared to those. This one is definitely more clean and the customer service is better. Out of the 5 stores I entered, 4 of the store employees acknowledged my presence and asked if they could help me. Parking was abundant and I didn't have trouble finding a place to park even if they had an ongoing event and it was a Saturday. read more

I keep trying to like this place. It's a beautiful mall with a lot of stores all centralized, however ... Every time I have come here I have been greeted with the least amount of customer service humanly possible. The last time I was here was in July ('16) and I literally had a Macy's employee refuse to acknowledge that I was asking her a question (turned her head and walked away from me) and then had another Macy's employee look at me standing behind a woman for 20 minutes as she played "Let's make a deal" with coupons to only wait until another woman joined the line behind me and then ask HER if she could help her on the other side. As if I hadn't been standing there patiently waiting. Thinking that either I or they were having a bad day I left. Unserved. Returned today because apparently this is the only Bath and Bodyworks near me (friendly service there). Decided to swing by the Apple Store to check out the new MacBooks. Despite 10 "geniuses" standing around doing nothing no one ever stopped to ask if I needed help, needed to sign in, or what I was shopping for. I did stop one Genius to ask which were the new ones and she pointed and walked away. So I'll keep my money in my pocket and order online. It's so funny how snobby they can come off when I'm trying to give you my money! read more

The young ladies working at Dry Goods need an absolute attitude check. They were openly talking rude behind the cash register about other costumers, also about how much money they made that day. I also purchased earrings and walked out without them in my bag so I walked back in and they had them sitting on the shelf and didn't even try to go after me walking out the store. Sears, Jamba Juice, Caribou Coffee, Bath & Body Works, Express, Alta (when I can afford it), Victoria's Secret, Hot Topic and my all time favorite store Love from Minnesota. Seriously, I would come here just for Love from Minnesota. I've never had a problem with any of the staff and the service has been pretty good. This is the mall i go to all the time because it is close to home. It is a growing mall with new stores opening and old ones closing. It seems to be that this small is trying to become a higher end mall. I do love all the stores here and the parking isn't terrible. The food court is decent with it having a variation of places to choose from. It could use some more teen stores, maybe in the future they will expand. read more

Ridgedale is a pretty typical regional mall. There's a nice variety of stores, it's well kept for its age. I do think it's great in a way in this area because it offers quick in and out as opposed to the quagmire that is the Mall of America. It's a less stressful and cumbersome shopping experience, but it just comes down to what you need and want at the time. If you're running in and out for one item, Ridgedale is great. If you're looking for a shopping "experience," MOA would be the place to go. read more

The kids and I decided to walk in through Nordstrom's cause I hadn't been to the new Nordstrom's, it was gorgeous of course. Then we went in the mall and I was disoriented it was so beautiful and fresh looking. They have all the stores we needed and they added new temptations, Creative Kidstuff and the Disney Store. Ridgedale is a pretty typical suburban mall. It's not my favorite in the metro though...that would be Rosedale. I do like avoiding the hassle of MOA though. I also like the center commons area where you can take a load off your feet and just listen to the sound of falling water. I don't really like how the Macy's store is segregated with Men's & Home in one corner of the mall, and Women's in another; and it's my general impression that most stores in this mall don't have as much space or as wide of a selection as the same stores at Rosedale or MOA. So, I don't find myself shopping here often--just when it's convenient. read more

I like Ridgedale Center a lot...mostly because of the proximity to my work. It is more of a 'get in, get out' type of place though. Not a mall I would go to simply to browse. One big shout out to the Coach Store in particular. The ladies there are so nice and accommodating (as they should be with expensive products). They let me exchange a ring that I had purchased months ago with no questions asked, and no receipt. I also really like the Sephora store. I find myself going in there just to poke around and listen to their store music. read more

This mall was featured in Juno!! haha Man, I grew up with this mall. This is where I got my first pair of flared low rise jeans, my prom dress, first victoria secret purchases, etc. This would be the place to go on weekends and you'd definitely run into your friends here. read more

The improvements you have made are lovely and very much appreciated as the mall was getting very tired and behind the times. One big disappointment however is the removal of lockers for shoppers and walkers. For the small amount of space needed, it is a valuable amity to encourage people to shop, dine and walk. Good size mall but it has all the best stores! Coach. Apple, Sephora, and so many more. If you're looking for gifts and don't want to run all over then this is the mall for you. Parking can be far but it's so easy to get around once you're inside it really doesn't matter where you park. Ever since our family moved to Minnesota, we have been doing shopping trips to Ridgedale. Living in a small town growing up, it was a treat to hit Daytons and the cool store. Today, Ridgedale is still one of my favorite shopping centers. Plus, now that I live in Chicago, it's like saving 10% whenever I go here since Minnesota is the land of no tax on clothes. read more
