Good for me. Fondren Cellars is a boutique wine store that sells majority of its inventory in wine. It's quite interesting how I stumbled on this place without help. Just happened to be there at the right place at the right time. My experience here at this wine store only talk about 15 minutes on a casual Friday afternoon. It was a late April 2025 in Jackson Mississippi. I walked in without any expectations, but just to look. Ended up buying a bottle of wine and ended up drinking it after running a marathon the next day in the evening. The service here was good and educational guy helped me and I ended up buying something with an easy opening so I don't have to find a corkscrew somewhere in the city. I ended up with a Pinot Noir which has some nice earthly tones to it. The store itself was not huge, but they carry and a large assortment of wine and other cocktails. It is quite a collection and definitely want to come back to if you're in the area of Jackson, Mississippi. The store itself was arranged in a particular fashion so anybody who is a customer here can find what they need quickly and efficiently. Majority of my experience here was browsing around to see what was available here before making my selection. It was nice to be informed about the many variations of Sauvignon, Blanc and other forms of bread and white wine, generally speaking. It was helpful to know that there is informed Staff here to make you pick the best way possible for your needs. Bottles of wine here range significantly, depending on what brand of wine you are wanting to purchase. I don't think they had a restroom here for a customers, but always nice to ask. They also feature wine tasting monthly, but I guess I forgot to ask since I was there during those times that they had posted. The overall experience here at Fondren Cellars here in Jackson, Mississippi was fairly casual, informative, and definitely want to return to if my future travels permit me to do so. I did love the fantastic array of the selection here. Vintage or not vintage wines helps aid in the selection process. I walked around the shop and made my decisions that day. It was cool to be able to go to a wine store and grab a bottle of wine just like that. There wasn't much air conditioning in the store but it was comfortable. The ambiance was nice and quiet since there was nobody in the store when I was in there at the time of my visit. For the most part though, my visit was enjoyable and definitely nice to find a wine shop near by my hotel on N State Street within walking distance. I would definitely recommend coming here if you are interested in grabbing a bottle of wine or two for dinner or a special event. The staff here can also recommend various wines for food pairings and other events and things. It's quite interesting how much wine is out there after talking to the staff here. Since it was just me in the wine shop that Friday evening, there wasn't much to experience, other than looking at various brands of wine. I ended up getting the room temperature wine since it was cheaper. There was wine in the refrigerators in the back, but they cost a little bit more because it was already in the refrigerators. And so, if you're needing a wine or anything or for any event occasion in your life, consider coming to Fondren Cellars in Jackson, Mississippi. Fondren Cellars is a boutique wine shop in the Fondren district of Jackson, Mississippi. They accept major credit cards as well as cash. They are located near the Homewood Suites by Hilton hotel. It's physically located at 633 Duling Avenue in a small commercial area. As far as parking goes, they have quite a bit of parking area to park in. For those who love to take the public transportation, I'm sure that Jackson area public transportation has the route that is comparable to your travel plans. Make sure that you find the one that works for you And compare when you feel like you need to buy wine for yourself or for any events that you are planning if you're like me, because there are always taking Uber or anything taking a car for their vacations. I basically use Uber because it was very compatible with my transportation needs. I walked here and walked back to my hotel with the unopened bottle of wine. I'm glad it wasn't raining that day. 5.0 stars for the overall experience. Support local! A+

They have a number of bottle picks and I was able to do some tastings with help from the staff for local offerings of Blue Note which was awesome. I ended up taking one of the bottles home from the tasting. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful with any questions I had. Would definitely stop in again, it hit quite a few marks for me.

It was a bit of a wait because the drive through was quite active. They were also a few people inside ahead of me. I ordered the catfish and shrimp with fries and okra on the side. My food was hot and delicious! Shrimp cooked perfectly and fish was also very good. The cake looked good, I'll try it next time.
