When I choose a healthcare provider my concern is the quality of that healthcare service. I am a healthcare provider, not with this group, and I understand the issues with office staff. I am offended when a patient or spouse gives a provider one star because someone may have been rude or kept them waiting or didn't return a phone call as quickly as they may have liked. We are all human and can, at times, be overwhelmed with the volume of patients at that moment. Some providers are warmer than others. The question remains do they know want is best for the patient and did they communicate that to the patient. My experience and my wife's separate experience with doctors of this group in the Mahwah office make me feel the professional services provided here are outstanding. I can easily recommend this group over any other orthopedic group in Bergen County. And unfortunately we have encountered other groups and their tactics and missed diagnosis. read more

I had a fantastic experience with Ridgewood orthopedics, especially with Dr Pizzurro. I first contacted them a year ago and told them that I was looking for a second opinion for my knee. The doctor explained that I did need a knee replacement. His scheduler called to put me on the schedule in April, but I needed to wait because of work and travel obligations. I had my knee replaced in November. Every time I have called someone calls me back right away, and when I sent in the paperwork for FMLA, it was returned to me, completed, immediately. I think that Dr Pizzurro's team have all been top-notch. Friends who have had knee replacements with other doctors and that other hospitals are not doing as well as I am. I followed the doctor's protocol and I am ahead of schedule. Even my home physical therapist was amazed at how much I was able to accomplish in the first two weeks. I highly recommend Dr. Pizzurro and Ridgewood Orthopedics, and I have already talked another friend into going to him. read more

My husband saw Dr Roenbeck on Oct 29 for consideration of carpal tunnel surgery. Dr recommended expedited surgery. The scheduler offered December. We explained that the surgeon said it should be expedited. By Nov 5th we still had no procedure scheduled. We were extremely disappointed and went to another surgeon. We were able to get a surgery date immediately. I would not recommend Ridgewood Orthopedics to anyone and would encourage others to seek another practice. read more

Love the doctors in the practice. My mother had wonderful Results from Dr Dizdarevic. I had revision surgery on my Achilles by Dr Brief. Office staff is hit or miss. Hard to get in post surgery for any concerns. Very busy which is good but would like a more personal experience. Still would rate them the highest because they are a practice of excellent surgeons. Dr. Criscitiello is a wonderful doctor. Every time I've seen him, he's been extremely kind, took his time, explained everything to me and went out of his way to help me. His nurses and radiology technician were very kind as well. I took one star off because his front desk staff are absolutely ridiculous. They're incredibly rude, ignore you, don't even crack a smile when you walk up to them and treat you like you're inconveniencing them. You're dealing with people who are in severe pain, and the last thing we need is to be treated so poorly by receptionists. It's sad because it's a great office, but I'm sure they're driving people away. They never answer the phones either. I hope management addresses this issue. I literally had to hobble back into the building because the pharmacy needed to get in touch with them and they wouldn't answer the phone. Completely unacceptable. Please fix this issue. R.O.G. came highly recommended, however, my experience calling and scheduling an appointment was anything but pleasant. An automated directory answered which was followed by a wait time of anywhere from 2 min to 10 min before speaking to someone to schedule a call. The receptionist took my info and scheduled an appointment. On the day of the appointment, I called to confirm the appointment waiting again 10 minutes on the phone. The receptionist could not find my appointment. I provided my information again letting them know I was out of network. I waited on the phone for another 10 minutes for them to figure out what had happened to my original appointment. Fortunately, they took me close to my original time. When I got to the office and completed new patient paperwork, they told me they couldn't take me because I was out of network. Ridiculous and frustrating! read more

Received a call A week before rescheduled appointment that the doctor had to cancel as he "had a meeting". Young girl who called was rude, unprofessional And unapologetic for the inconvenience. All the bad reviews you are reading about the office staff and management are 100 percent true , this has no reflection on the Doctors and their staff, but when the office staff drops the ball with your paperwork and lies , screams at you because you hold them accountable to do their job it makes it very difficult to continue to use their services. read more

My experience with the Ridgewood Orthopedic Group and particularly with Dr. Umer Dasti has been fantastic. I have been seen with regards to a herniated disc in my neck and most recently an achilles tendon injury. Dr. Dasti has an exceptional bedside manner and is very thorough in his investigation and diagnosis. He never rushed the consultation and answered all my questions in their entirety and explained any medical jargon I wasn't familiar with. He made me feel at ease and comfortable throughout the whole process. A gem of a doctor! That's why when it comes to orthopedic matters Dr. Dasti and the Ridgewood Orthopedic Group is my first choice. They also have a great state or the art office in Ridgewood, which truly enhances the patient experience. Keep up the good work! read more

I was impressed with my experience here. Jen Fischer the PA I worked with was very thorough in her care for my thoracic spine pain. She listened to me and allowed me to pinpoint where the pain was. She wrote up the prescription for the MRI that I needed and true to her word, called me back and gave me the results over the phone, instead of forcing me to come in and have to pay another co-pay. She was also cool with me going to my usual guy for Physical Therapy, even though it was out of house. She didn't try to persuade me to use one of their guys, something I've encountered with countless other doctors. She was also nice enough to mail me the MRI results and my script for PT. I enjoyed the honesty here- it didn't seem to me like a lot of other doctor's offices who are really in it to milk the insurance companies and have me come back as many times as possible so they can get paid. I would definitely go back here and would suggest people give Jen a shot for a genuine assessment. I wouldn't hesitate to go back here in the future. read more

I have had nothing but good experiences with this practice. I saw Dr. Dasti for a shoulder injury before I actually fell and needed knee surgery. He took his time and asked a lot of questions. When the surgery was performed it was much worse than was seen on MRI and he had to switch gears and do a complete repair of the ligament. He is skilled enough to know when something needs to be changed and competent to be able to do it. A few months later I needed shoulder surgery and he was able to do that too without skipping a beat. He answered all my questions and the staff was caring and nice. He's a fabulous surgeon for knees and shoulders. I highly recommend this practice. read more

Dr. Mark Pizzurro did knee replacement surgery. My problem was not with him. The work he did was fine. Unfortunately, his office and nursing staff is completely unprofessional. It takes hours/days to get a return phone call, and when that call finally happens, it appears you are completely bothering them. Avoid this group unless they change their attitude. read more

I'm 56 years old and I've been dealing with shoulder impingement and pain for 6 years. I've tried everything from Physical Therapy, acupuncture, massage. Six years ago I received a cortisone shot from a doctor in another practice. It was terrible I was in so much pain because a had a cortisone flare up. When the flare up subsided the shot didn't even work I was still dealing with the pain. I received another cortisone shot 4 months later and the same thing happened. I figured I was just going to have to deal with the pain. I decided to have another go at it but this time I went to the Ridgewood Orthopedic Group. I met with Dr. Dasti who was great he listened to me and suggested a cortisone shot. I said yes but I wanted it to be ultrasound guided. He sent me to Dr. Lauren Terranova in their practice. She was wonderful! After receiving the shot my arm was a little sore at the injection site. But that was it no other soreness. I couldn't believe it. Now two days later I no pain at all. I can sleep without waking up in pain. I'm so happy I decided to go to Ridgewood Orthopedic Group. I would highly recommend Dr. Dasti and Dr. Terranova. I met with Dr Dasti back in February for some shoulder discomfort. I have been experiencing pain and loss of strength for quite some time. Rather than scheduling an MRI, which is what I requested, he gives me an x-Ray and cortisone shot. 3 months later and I'm still dealing with pain only to find out that I have a tear. The doctors are so busy that I agreed to see a PA after experiencing knee pain. Really wanted a doctor, but the wait was too long. PA was sweet, but I do feel a doctor would have been better for me. My knee didn't respond to any of the shots she gave me. Went back again and wasn't offered anything except creams and anti-inflammatory drugs which I didn't want to take. Went back again and saw a PA who gave me the jell injection. It didn't work. I saw Dr. Dasti today. Really bad bedside manner. Had to wait forever to be seen. I felt that he thought I was wasting my time coming in to see him. Gave me a totally different opinion of my knee than other doctor. He almost thought the whole thing was amusing. Told me the jell injection I got was something totally different than the PA said. Very confused. They never call back, never. PAs never call back. read more

went to ridgewood orthpedics twice .saw dr brief who gave us ten minuets and abruptly walk out of the room ,no goodbyes ,nothing . i was given a knee brace and no instructions how to use it.when i recieved my medicare statement,we were charged for a knee brace we didnt get for $465.00 ,the one we did get was an inferior one that costs under 100.00. in addition we were charged for a stop smoking consultation ,which we did not recieve or want.when we called about the 300.00 over charge ,they said they they would have terry the office mgr.get back to us ,she never did .they give you the feeling there in it strictly for the money .i had to turn the matter over to medicare to.investigate. I would give no stars if possible. I usually go to NYC for drs but ended up trying this group out. 1st, I'm a health care attorney, so I was appalled when I was shown into the exam room and an oversize computer screen was displaying all kinds of patient health information!!!! Can you say HIPAA violation of the worst kind? That should have been the first clue that something was terribly terribly wrong here. 2nd, I was told there was absolutely nothing wrong with my joints after a 2 min exam (Really?? I had terrible pain and had waited for over a year to see a dr about it and I frankly wait until the bitter end to ever go to the doctor). They took an x-ray and again said there is absolutely nothing wrong with you. Then the dr immediately recommended that I go have a very expensive MRI at a place they have a relationship with (they send all their patients there they told me). Hmmm seems odd. Well the good thing is they ended up never giving me the referral for the MRI and after 6 weeks of waiting (I tried to call but noone responded to my voicemails until almost 2 months later) I ended up going to see another doctor, who showed me right on the x-ray where I had arthritis!!! It couldnt have been clearer on the x-ray. Wow can you say blatant misdiagnosis? Last to add insult to injury they sent another patient's bill to me with all of his personally identifiable health information on it - his name, address, and medical diagnosis codes!!!. I have written them several times and I received only an extremely rude unprofessional phone call from an administrator telling me that their office can send that sort of information to whoever they like under the law. Wow very scary. Don't go here - not only will they misdiagnose you, they'll send you for completely unnecssary expensive tests AND not safeguard any of your health information and worse - be arrogant and rude about it. I can't even imagine how they treat your credit card information.... Thankful for Active Orthopedics Group in Hackensack. They have knowledgeable/professional doctors, and professional/courteous office staff. read more

When I made my appt I gave all my insurance info to the receptionist. I was told that there is nothing to worry about and I would be seeing the doctor. Despite doing that several days before my appt, I was told that, while they do accept UHC they don't accept MY UHC plan, after I waited several days to have my fracture evaluated by one of the orthopaedists and hobbled my way into the office. And rather than have the doctor see me and waive the fee, since they made the error, I was turned away leaving me to have to wait even longer to see another orthopaedist because now I have to find one that actually does accept MY UHC plan. This is absolutely unacceptable to do to someone with a fractured ankle. read more

This practice has both cared for my father and elderly grandfather, they are caring about their patients and make you feel at ease by taking the time to get to know them. I am writing this because Ridgewood ortho has to be one of the worst pain management is the worst professionals I have ever dealt with. Started with Dr. Randy Marrinan and he was very good with curing my herniated disc's in my neck and upper spine. When I went back for my lower lumbar injections I was told the Dr. had left the practice without any notice. Now after 2 surgery's and numerous trigger point injections with 2 left to be down I was left to find a new Dr. because they said they didn't have anyone to continue my treatment, mind you still was on pain medication that I had to go off on cold turkey without a physician over seeing my health. When I found a new Dr I called to have my records they said no problem we will print them for you. When I went to pick them up I asked if they could fax the info to the new dr I had located, there response was Donald we now have a new physician filling that spot you don't have to go else where. Now my apt is for Feb 2.2018 @ 3:00 PM I wasn't informed that this practice doesn't want me to come back there. they called me at 445 pm on Feb 1,2018 & told me I was not welcome there. This has been nothing but a nightmare with these ppl they could care less that I had to detox my self nor that I am still in severe pain with only tynenol for pain which is only up setting my stomach not to mention my quality of life has been nothing but agonizing this practice should not be allowed to dump a patient because he was upset with the answers they gave me regarding what am I to pursue now? They also said do not come into our office really pretty low since there physician dropped the ball on me and now I can't get into a new job that was to start in 10 days, they have shown no respect or caring for my situation, I had another Dr all set to go when I asked them to send records to him they insisted I could come back their for they had a new physician that could fix my situation. Now I'm left high & dry these ppl don't give a darn about anything but money and they have a very bad attitude toward me because I was upset that I would have to detox my self which Thank God I didn't have a stroke or any other serious problems. In closing I would never recommend seeing this practice for who cancels a person with sever spinal stenoisis herniated disc's and not to mention I suffer with MS and have no tissue in vertebre in my neck from C-2 to C5 is all bone one bone. One star is generous. This office is very poorly managed and wait times are inexcusable. Thinking they're doing you a favor, they move you to an exam room (instead of the main lobby) where you continue to wait for a longer period of time. Not a problem though because you can pass-the-time by reading all of their other patient's charts on the big computer screen they leave open for you in the exam room. These guys should be locked up for HIPPA violations. Some of the doctors here may be good but I experienced a very unprofessional attitude with the doctor I dealt with. read more
