The space is really beautiful and…read morethey are pretty quick to get you in for an initial appointment (you need a script from your PCP first though) After one evaluation and 2 sessions, I realized they weren't experienced with treating chronic pain even though they knew that's what I came in for. I ended up getting pretty hurt because in my second session my overzealous PT had me do some exercises that just weren't appropriate for where I am at. Although at that session she explained that they probably weren't a great fit for me because they aren't used to chronic pain, I just wish I was told that outright. Or even at the end of the evaluation. The plus side of this place is that, unlike most PT offices, there is a lot of space and privacy when you meet with a PT. I'm sure they do a decent job with the generic one time knee/whatever injury kind of pain but because of my experience I wouldn't recommend them to a friend. *Note, they aren't at 280 Washington St anymore- they're at 20 Guest St. Brighton in the New Balance Building

I have received PT from multiple agencies over the past 10 years, including Kennedy Bros, ProSports…read moreand Mt Auburn, for different issues. But I have never had such rapid relief as I did when treated by Keith Foley. Two years ago, I was diagnosed with a herniated cervical disc with impinged nerve. I went to PT for 6 months with little improvement, although I lost fitness when the therapist had me stop all other fitness activities. Since then, I have lived with chronic daily pain in my neck and shoulders, as well as frequent migraines, despite having tried dry needling, acupuncture, trigger point injections and therapeutic massage. Most recently, I developed shoulder pain from a presumed rotator cuff tear, for which I received PT from Keith. Keith bases his treatment approach on the MacKenzie and Maitland methods. Google it - it makes sense. His practice is patient-centric, focused on how the injury functions within the patient's daily activities, the patient's other symptoms and response to treatment. Treatment includes daily exercises, but also mindful postural resets to be practiced throughout the day, when sitting, typing, standing, walking, sleeping. For the first time, I have a movement plan to treat increased symptoms when they occurred, including when to use pain meds. Keith focuses on patient education, and always teaches the rationale behind his treatment. For the first time in years, I have pain free days. I am using about a third of the medication I needed when I started seeing him 2 1/2 months ago. Keith is professional, articulate, sensitive and intelligent. Not only does he check in with how I am doing during the treatment, but he will also answer questions by email between sessions. He has also suggested literature and videos to support his treatment. I cannot recommend Keith Foley highly enough. Note that Keith may travel between Spaulding locations, so be sure to check his availability before registering. The office at Brighton Landing is clean, and spacious, with ample space for therapy without feeling you are involved in other patient's business. Treatment rooms are three-walled, with a full curtain for privacy. Keyed lockers and a shower room are available. Parking is free with a validated ticket in the garage across the street. The location is convenient to Soldier's Field Rd/Storrow Dr., in the building across from WGBH. The office staff is courteous and competent. I have not had trouble getting my preferred early morning time slots; they are also opened in the evening. Initially I waited a week for my evaluation.

She had bruises on her shoulder and I remember her saying he was very rough moving her and unkind. I reported the incident and told them, that male nurse, (P), was not allowed anywhere near my Gram. I was trying to get her moved the next day but she had tested positive for MRSA while she was there and she couldn't be moved elsewhere. Sadly she passed away at Neville. They don't even deserve 1 star.

She stated the food was from some alien planet, but she did receive adequate physical therapy. Checking this place out for myself for an injury that left me bed ridden I have experienced humility at the 10th level. Nothing in life prepares you for this situation. When I first got here the EMT's dropped me off on a bed and I was left unattended for three hours. A buffet of people with titles came to see me. Looking so official, but what they did to assist me I have no idea. An aid put a name tag bracelet on me. Wrong ID. Wrong doctor. I told 6 people, before someone that believes it's her job to fix and not leave for someone else. The staff a common denominator is they are clueless to what's going on past eye level. I put my call light on, someone comes in to turn it off and says the " Aid is coming" , because the call light is off the aid forgets about me and hours go by. Don't fret,each hour I call the nurses station and request services. The food for the first few days they gave me this vegan Rubber-Burger. After several days of speaking to the person in charge of the kitchen they attempted to satisfy my needs. Because this position is at a director level, I believe she attempts the golden rule and puts her best foot forward. I'll eat my words on the days she's off and the kitchen makes excuses for the poor judgment of serving potato hash brown for breakfast, and a scoop of rice with three beans for lunch. NO PROTEIN! The good news is Coleman Lawyers is a true advocate for patients needs and wants. HE GETS IT DONE! He always puts his best foot forward. I was at another rehab before this ( my first ever) that I would designate the title of "Worst Ever " The Neville Ctr is the Ritz compared to that rabbit hole I fell into in Needham,MA. I've seen it get cleaned every day, I get cleaned every day. I agree about a previous review about the temperature. Just today an aid placed my " equipment ", and put it in the dirty laundry pile. I'm like hello, how do you say cross contamination in Creole? The other day my PT lady found a syringe on my bureau. A common denominator here is they leave stuff all over the place. Pick it up and throw in the trash when you leave my room... Physical therapy, I'm pleased with the effort given. Some are actually fun, and an escape for 10-30 minutes. A few other departments on point, and when sending an email on my behalf I can see the effort given. I would request weekly training for the aids. Example when giving a bed-bath use long soft strokes not short hard strokes. Feels like a bath with a Brillo-Pad. When someone is asking for a specific item they can't reach, don't pick up random items, how about you READ. I know this place says five stars, I can't see how since most of their clients don't use the internet.

My Dad had a medical emergency and required hospitalization which now meant my Mom needed assistance. Most importantly immediate overnight care. I was in a complete panic as to what to do. I was referred to Nursing on Demand. I cannot begin to say how grateful and thankful I am. I spoke with Brenda right away and she was able to get someone immediately!! I was so relieved. Angela has been a god sent. Thankfully my Dad is finally coming home. I hope I never am in a situation like this again, but with elderly parents with medical issues it is inevitable. I will absolutely be calling Brenda again. The attention and care that Nursing on Demand provides is without a doubt the best thing you can do.

We had requested multiple screenings for my parent, we were told that they would "write it in the book". Preventative screenings were never done. Billing department is dysfunctional and they can never keep consistent staff. Billing errors and misplaced payments are blamed on the family. Was told they are not receiving payments, only to be called weeks later stating "they found the check in a pile of paperwork". Families are told they will add it to the next balance, then the new balance is not accurate. Nobody seems to know what's going on medically and financially at this facility. Lack of care, cleanliness, and accurate records cause a huge stress on the families and patients. Save yourself a hassle, go somewhere else.

My brother is at pine knoll nursing home. The five stars is for Ronnie. He is my brother's…read morecaregiver. I met Ronnie and I can see why my brother is happy with him. He is very attentive and caring. My brother is blind so he needs extra care. There's another woman named Mary, she gave us access to the outdoor patio which was really helpful for us so he could get some exercise. I appreciate the staff keeping an eye on my brother even though they are not used to dealing with blind people. They always make sure to keep him clean and as well as his room. The housekeeping staff does a great job and are very friendly. Especially Trish. She's very pleasant and social. Always striking up a conversation with our family member. She kept our family members private room clean at all times. The activities team, Valerie and Stacey go out of their way to make sure residents participate and have a good time. They also are very friendly and personable.I was very impressed with them. Chris the maintenance guy is very prompt when something needs attention. Also a very nice guy. Bob, the project manager, I believe, also very caring and understanding. One time He went out of his way to bring our family member to an eye appointment when transport and family members couldn't. Now the not so good. I won't name any names, but will mention their title. The nursing coordinator was fairly nice for first few months. But when our family member left his medical appointment in Boston (not a good choice to do) before his transport arrived, she turned not so nice. It's understandable of her concern and her duty to be sure residents are always safe. But we feel he was being continuously penalized for his wrong doing. The day after this incident (he went missing for several hours) she put him in a cramped room Way down the other end of the hall. She said it was for his safety sake because his private room was too small for him..that made no sense because the room they transferred him to, had 2 beds, one not being used, and just about the same size as his private room. Also, she would not allow him to venture out for a day with his sister, who did it weekly Up until this incident. She claimed he was an escape risk. He spent his Father's Day in the facility. This was his first Father's Day without his daughter, who had passed a few months earlier. His sister planned on a family day for him at her home, to help him from the pain of not having his daughter on this special day. This shows NO COMPASSION.also, She would not allow him to use transport for his medical appointments, even tho a family member would be meeting him when transport would arrive at the appointment. This is something that has been done since his admission here. A few times she raised her voice at his sister, when discussing certain matters. This is very unprofessional. The social worker is extremely condescending. She lacks people skills. And shows no empathy. I've dealt with many social workers, With my profession, so I am familiar with thier roles and the manners they should have. This one lacks manners. If she hadn't continued telling us and our family member that "he is his own person and can make his own decisions", he probably wouldn't have decided to leave his appointment before transport came and got lost in Boston! There have been several disagreements between her and our family members sister. She had an obvious dislike for his sister. one one of his final days there, Our family member's sister was sitting on the spare bed going through her phone while the doctor was behind curtains, tending to his wounds. he came from behind the curtain to discuss his condition, when all of a sudden He started saying she was unethical in recording him! She told him she was not recording him and was just checking her messages while she was waiting. she showed him her phone. He left our family member, without covering his wound and went to get the nursing coordinator, who then came into the room and scolded his sister, like a child. somehow the social worker became involved and refused to hear the whole story. His wound was not properly dressed until later that day. The next couple of days, our family member kept complaining of pain around his wound and was not feeling well in general. He asked to be transported to the closest hospital. I'm not sure who, but he was told he was fine and that he didn't need to go. 2 days later, his sister went to visit him and immediately saw that he had a fever and looked very I'll. He needed to go to an emergency room. She took him there herself. But before being able to leave the building, the nurse coordinator stepped in and made things difficult, wasting the time he should have been at the hospital. At the emergency room, it was determined he had a seriously bad infection, his wound was a stage 3 wound (stage 4 is the worst) and he could have died if he was not seen when he was. Needless to say, we removed him from Pine Knoll.

Gunderson outpatient Our family member was recommended for…read morethe Gunderson Outpatient program by their psych. The psych works at Mcleans in some capacity but our loved one knew him just by individual psychologist meetings. Our loved one started the program and was taking part in the required 90 day sobriety and sessions leading up to possible admission to the outpatient program. Her psych presented her case to the Gunderson team because he is part of the team. He presented to the evaluating doctor and our parent therapist along with others. We didn't know this until later because everyone on the team acts as though they don't know the other members of her team. This means every person on the team can claim ignorance of the other professional's behavior. Institutional protection from accountability. Our loved one was supposed to take part in two sessions a week and be evaluated for appropriateness for the program. Our loved one would do one weekly session with a DBT therapist and one with the evaluating doctor. Our loved one completed a personal narrative, and we did as well. After 6 weeks we reached out to our Parent therapist on the team to ask if our loved one should do an addiction treatment month at Silver Hill. Our loved one was sober but struggling. Our loved one was interested in Silver Hill and had made a call to Silver Hill to gather information. We never heard back from our Parent Therapist so we asked again. Our loved one was interested still but was worried that stopping the Gunderson Outpatient Assessment would send her back to the beginning. She asked for clarification and confirmation that she could do the Silver Hill program. We were given a "Maybe, but let's see how this goes. The Doctor really thinks she is a good fit for the program and is probably going to admit her to Gunderson Outpatient". Two weeks later we had our first and only family zoom with the evaluating doctor. The doctor asked our loved one to explain what she had been doing in the DBT session with the other doctor. Our loved one said those sessions had never been scheduled. The DBT doctor had never run a session in over 6 weeks and the assessing doctor didn't know this. Supposedly the assessing doctor was conferring with the DBT doctor for the application. The doctor asked our loved one to remember to send in the personal narrative. Our loved one told the doctor she had sent it over a month ago and had recognition that it had been received over a month ago. We expected a more serious assessment process. What we saw was inattention and lack of concern. About a week after this family meeting we received the four sentence rejection email. It said that our loved one was not going to be admitted to the program and that they should take part in a program such as Silver Hill and then reapply through the whole process again. I reached out set up a meeting to talk about this decision and never heard back. The short rejection email did not offer an expediated re-application or to confer with Silver Hill. The rejection letter did not offer a time to talk through the findings. The rejection letter was completely unprofessional given these are supposed to be experts in working with people with fear of abandonment, low self-worth and need for validation. There was no response to our request to a follow up meeting to better understand the short email rejection. To make a long story short. The communication is awful. Get all your questions answered in the first two weeks because no one cares to respond after that. You can ask for clarification of the process of admission but it is not there. They do not give criteria or information. The attention to the assessment appeared terrible. The assessing doctor never talked with the other doctor who was supposedly leading weekly DBT sessions. Those weekly sessions never took place for over 6 weeks but the assessing doctor didn't know that. Clearly the doctors weren't communicating about the applicant. The assessing doctor did not even know about the personal narrative our loved one wrote that had been in the file for over 6 weeks. The Gunderson Outpatient Admissions process is calcified, poorly communicated and designed to protect the institution and promote priorities that are not about the person with BPD. I thought an institution full of BPD experts would have an admission process that was supportive of people with Abandonment fears, Need for validation and low self-worth. Instead the process actively hurts people with BPD by offering no clear outline of the assessment process, doctor's who show a lack of concern and interest, and a final outcome that is just an email with no follow up or assistance offered. There are people and programs that save us, and there are people and programs that harm us and set us back. Gunderson Outpatient admission program harmed our loved one. I lose track of time but I think it was about 18 months after his discharge. I spent a week at a hotel nearby Mclean and visited him every day. It was so painful to see how much harm and how little help he received. His "care" team would not communicate with me. His discharge plan included referrals to doctors who were not able to see him. We had to find follow up providers ourselves. After his discharge, he was struggling than before. Two years ago he hung himself in a hotel room. The loss of a family member, the loss of a sibling, is always difficult. It is sometimes soul-crushing.
