The technician from Riley was highly professional and knew his trade well. The timeliness was excellent and the value was good. There was some confusion with the office that we worked through. I would say that they tried to upsell me, and not always on a sensible path given the circumstances we were facing. But overall, I'd definitely use them again, just be judicious with what you agree to, as always. read more

We had a leaking bathtub. After the replacement, we no longer have hot water, even though that was fine before the replacement. The solution was a $1,700 replacement after spending $600 to fix the leak. There was no conversation about the tradeoff prior to the replacement, I would prefer a leaking bathtub than a shower that is not functional. Get everything in writing up front or be prepared to have unknown costs to follow. I would NOT recommend this company. read more

Terrible plumbing company. Very aggressive with advertising. Will you give $500 off their ridiculous prices if you refer another unfortunate victim. They are not upfront with their fees or provide estimates in violation of Nevada Revised Statutes 624.970. Charged me $426.57 to install a fill valve in a toilet using a part that the plumber admitted cost $10. Took less than 15 minutes to do. I could have bought a whole new toilet and had it installed for less. Then the hose disconnected after they left and it leaked all over the floor. Plumber said they charge $289 per hour and charged another $633 for other work and a dispatch fee of $125 in addition. They were not upfront that a dispatch fee would be charged in addition to whatever time was spent. They are not up front with their billing practices like other plumbers. Charged my credit card without approval. Avoid them. read more

If you want to pay 2-3 times what a simple job should cost, use Riley. In my case, the installation of two simple brass shutoff valves onto PEX lines ran $200 EACH! No undersink crawl, just walk up and crimp-on two valves. Predatory pricing. Am writing again to respond to Riley's response. I spent thirty years in contracting with the federal government. I fully understand taking an hour of labor and applying overhead, G&A and profit to stay in business. Have no problem with $125 charge to show up. But charging $400 to install two valves is not reasonable considering the amount of material ($20 per valve?) and maybe 20 minutes of total labor. read more

Riley charged over $1,500 for a job that required ~$200 in parts and 3 hours of labor. Their technician also signed my name without permission, which is unacceptable. Two managers gave conflicting stories: one admitted I'd been overcharged and promised an itemized receipt, while the other said their company "never" provides itemized receipts. After multiple calls, all they offered was $140 off. The work was fine, but the pricing model, lack of transparency, and unauthorized signature make this a company I will never use again. read more

I see a few other customers with my same issue. Overcharged. In my case, it was 3X for a 45 min visit to snake a ground level unit. Previous, identical service a year ago was 1/3 from another plumber. Pricing like that is predatory. You pay a service fee for them to come out. If you don't like their rip off quote, they leave and you're out the service fee. If you have tenants waiting to shower and run laundry, you pay up. It's what gives contractors like Riley a bad name. It's a bummer, because they were responsive, and their technicians are good people. The "fixed rate" pricing is their issue. If I was the only one, then go ahead and assume I'm one of those people that always feel like they're getting ripped off. But when there are others, buyer beware. I think they're concerned about getting even more negative reviews, since they agreed to a small discount. Tahoe has much better. read more

Sorry this review is late. Francisco came to our cabin for a leaking washing machine. He arrived around 500pm due to extended previous work job. We were so grateful that he was willing to show up after his long, troublesome previous jobsite. Francisco was very professional and helpful. He investigated what was causing the washing machine to leak water. He notified my husband the specific part that was causing the problem. Thank you so much Riley plumbing company for sending a great worker to help us. He is friendly, hard working and quick to service our needs. He definitely deserves 5 stars for the work. Deceptive Billing Practices & Unacceptable Service Absolutely unacceptable experience. I hired this company to install a garbage disposal. I was given a quote, but when it came time to pay, the plumber Michael Rojas completely scribbled through all the boxes where I was supposed to initial, then had me sign the final box without disclosing the total dollar amount. I was later charged $375 more than the original price I was quoted over the phone. I even gave him a redbull, a new pen and a free drink token for my work. This is not only incredibly deceptive but also, in my opinion, illegal. A reputable company informs you of the full cost before demanding a signature, and any price changes should be discussed and approved with proper documentation (like a change order), not hidden. I strongly advise against using this company if you value transparency and fair pricing. Beware of their billing tactics. read more

Waited for our scheduled appointment between 1-5pm ( so waited around all day ) and never showed or called back

Ihadnused Riley before for a major heating and air replacement and was very satisfied. So when my drain stopped upand my bathroom water fixtures were not functioning I immediately called. He arrived, diagnosed the fixtures not repairable. and the drain needed new piping. He also pointed out there were no shutoff valves. He recommended installing. And he needed to turn off the recirculating pump. After he left, the pump was not working and when he came back to finish the job, I asked about it. He shrugged and said he could put in a new one. Two things I have since found out. This house (part of a develoment) has a centralized area in a closet where one, all or many lines can be shut off. I did not know this but you would think a competent plumber would be aware to at least ask. My son took a look at the pump and turned on the drain at the pump. Loud sounds of air in the pipes. he let it drain until it was quiet. Pump is now working fine. this all cost in excess of $2,000. read more

If I could give this company a zero, I would. I called on Monday because 2 vents weren't putting out air. I told them I sure it's because we had a water over flow, but obviously I'm not an hvac person. They said $210 to diagnose and they'd be there btw 8-12 on Thursday. I get a text and email on Weds saying they'd be here btw 7:30-8:30 (good). I called at 8:30 asking where they are. He came at 9:00. Spent 10 minutes and said , you're right. So can you fix it? No, I'll write and estimate and send tomorrow. I had asked to speak to a mgr and Allie called me. She was very condescending and finally said I'll book you tomorrow if you'd like. She said we need to put 15 feet of duct, that would be $649. So for 15 ft of duct the total charge would be $859. No thanks. read more
