I've been a huge fan of theirs even before they expanded to this location. My go to meal here is always the country platter - Rice, beans, grilled steak, fried egg, fried pork, green and yellow plantain. It's very tasty and the portions are big so you can't go wrong. I wouldn't advise coming here for dinner as it gets packed and the service is much much slower (one night there were 2 tables of 2 that left because the food took too long). You may also want to make a reservation as well to avoid the long wait. Otherwise, I highly recommend coming for breakfast or lunch - their prices are even cheaper then! read more

We have been here several times since it's close to my house. The food is pretty consistent, the cost is great and they have a few specialities that are great - the bean bowl - or country platter.... today though was odd. My husband and I both ordered meals that come with rice and beans - we stated we didn't want rice and beans and would just prefer salad to which the waitress said fine but when we received our meal we were told we couldn't switch out (despite the fact that both our meals come with sides) and therefore would have to pay for the house salad. So silly right? And on top of that there were flies inside the restaurant..... I like this place but this was such an odd dinner - don't think I'll be returning any time soon. read more

Definitely try this place! Ordered for my parents anniversary during the middle of Quarantine, but because it was also Lent and we desperately needed fish, they came through. Last week I ordered off their lunch menu and the order was about $28 with tip included. This week I tried ordering the same order and they said the minimum for delivery was $30. There is NO restaurant on the Island that has a $30 minimum. I could tell this lady was being rude off the bat. She didn't want to deliver my food. I would avoid this shit hole. Food isn't even that great and the staff are all miserable and unworthy of tips because they never smile or take care of their customers. Hoping it shuts down soon. Forest Avenue needs it. read more

I placed an order straight through their website 2 1/2 hours ago, called and a woman on the phone told me my order left. I called 30 mins after that to check if my food was almost here, supposedly they never received my order even though it brought me to a confirmation screen and said the order went though. I am now heating up leftovers, starving at 10:40 at night. I work in the service industry taking phone orders as well so understand it's not easy, but they should've never told me my order left and need to seriously fix the online ordering. read more

Great fresh food. Colombian Resturant. Prices are great. About 10-18$ for an entree. They make milkshakes from a wide variety of fruit. My favorite are papaya and guava- my childhood taste. The food is always delicious! I always get the chicken with pineapple and peaches with rice and beans and a side of sweet plantains. The servers are professional. There is always a very low playing radio in the background that does bother at all - perfect volume. I go here often since it's in the neighborhood. Sometimes I dress nice for dinner since there are at least 2 couples on a date dressed nicely. But most of the time I go casual or in sweats but I never feel out of place. I recommend this place highly. It does get busy at dinner times on the weekends especially around holidays! read more

Plot Twist! I returned to this place. HUGEEEEE improvement from my last visit. The new waiters/servers they have are genuinely happy to provide the service and they seem to like people. Went with my mom who was craving a snack. We ordered a mix of empanadas and arepas with cheese. The arepas were nice and crispy which I love. The empanadas were okay. I'm very sensitive to when food when it begins to spoil, and this was the case with the beef empanadas. I ate one and it was perfect. Delicious and super tasty. The second one had an off taste, I don't know if it was the masa or meat filling. Overall a MUCH BETTER experience than before. Yay! SIDENOTE: my first review struck a chord with someone as they wrote the funniest scathing review of me as a human. I'm gonna take a guess and say that person is emotionally/financially invested in this business, which is fine. This authentic Columbian restaurant is everything and more in food and flavor! On the weekends this place is packed out and its all different types of people overflowing this place and enjoying there awesome food. I usually come here during the week and I am never disappointed. Prices are reasonable and they offer from chicken, seafood, steaks and more. They have soup specials daily and the best and most delicious appetizer is the shrimp in garlic and butter sauce with the flat bread plantains and the sweet plantain stuffed with ground meat! ITS SO FREAKING DELICIOUSO!!! Entrees are large portions so you can share them with someone else. I love the steak the sauce of the steak and onions is so good, its sweet but tasteful and I dislike a dry steak! The rice is good, frijoles with the fried yuca on the side is a great side to the platter. Desserts are good too from rice pudding, tres leches and flan,they also have a mini bakery with fresh pastries and there coffee is really good! I ordered the Bandeja Paisa, which I always order whenever I try out a new place like this so I have comparisons to the places in Elizabeth, NJ. It was decent. My complaint is the fact that i placed my order before 2pm (time it ends) came around which was 1:57pm. They charged me for the regular. I wasn't told at the point of ordering that I will be charged for the regular price. I even pointed out my order at the lunch special sheet too. i noticed their POS register system & very familiar with being able to open up a check & changing the price. The server did ask the owner since my coworkers pointed him out. Never did he try to honor. I will post my receipt to show the time. I was told there will be no sort of compensation. read more

One of the few places I come to on the island when I'm craving steak. I usually order their steak and potato entree. They have two types of steaks, skirt and their other steak that I usually order, which escapes me at the moment. Basically, I avoid ordering the skirt -- don't get me wrong, their skirt is good and all, but I much prefer their "other" steak. I actually would recommend you try their skirt if you're a skirt steak type of person, as it's good too. So with the other steak, you get a thick slab of steak for $23. It comes with a side of rice, beans and potatoes drenched in some unearthly creamy, cheese-based sauce, which kinda tastes like a melted nachos cheese flavored Doritos' sauce. It's a mouthwatering sauce, and probably the best potatoes I've ever encountered. They also give you this herb and olive oil dipping sauce for your steak, which I usually drench over all my steak. Anyway, this place serves phenomenal steak at a ridiculously cheap price, and they have a number of other items for meat lovers. read more

Very good Columbian food. Staten Island is comin up! We went for breakfast, it happened to be past 11am but they accommodated our request. We had the steak and eggs, it came with an arepa with the cheese on the side. The house salsa was fantastic, spicy hot and fresh tasting. The portion size was huge and it was definitely filling. There's an array of baked goods in the front - cookies, rolls made with different fillings such as cheese, guava, caramel, chocolate. They also have breads that are the size of traditional rolls, to humongous breads, one beautifully made to look like a flower. They also come with fillings. Needless to say, very interesting baked goods I've not seen anywhere else and can't wait to try. They sell the day old stuff in bags for cheaper. Most of the goods are made with cheese in the dough.. yumm! The service was pleasant, our young waiter answered our gazillion questions. All in all, a great meal, looking forward to trying more of the baked goods. FYI - the rolls with cheese are like crack. You can take em home, zap in the micro for a few seconds and they melt in your mouth. read more

Having to venture into the North Shore of Staten Island today to get my car fixed was not the best way to start off the new year. Fortunately for me, the Pep Boys was down the street from this restaurant which I bookmarked. Being primarily in the South Shore, the food options in the North Shore was quite exciting. You just can't get hispanic food in the South Shore. I was excited to have some Colombian food since it's been a bit since I've had some tasty Colombian Chicharron. I wish i was dining with someone else so I could have had more to taste. When ever i go to a new restaurant, i try to get their "national dish, " in this case the bandeja Paisa. It was good, was it the best? Not really, i've had better chicharron but it wasn't the worst either. It was pretty tasty as well as the mango batida that I ordered with it. If I'm ever back in the area, I would definitely come back. read more

Skip, unless you don't own a car. We gave the place three chances and issues remained the same: extremely long wait to both be waited on and then to be served- and food that's just mediocre. Downtown Elizabeth has Brisas Colombianas and in the same town near the Goethals they have Noches de Colombia, which has entertainment also. Of course, much further away there are the Queens places but it's very busy and congested where the best places are out that way. If you go in the winter time stay away from the window tables. They are so drafty and half of the restaurant eats in their coats because it's so cold. The reason for the three stars was because Mothers Day is right around the block and I needed to warn any other fellow Mommies if you want a special Mother's Day experience do not go on Mothers Day! Go the night before or the next night. My family took me there last Mother's Day and it was a disaster! The their AC was not on and the place was HOT I took a pic of the Thermometer and it read 82F! We had to wait forever for our food. BUT not as long as other guests who started getting up and walking out did! One of them told us they were on hour 2 waiting! I guess we got lucky or we got someone else's food...but after telling them we were about to leave our food came after having waited 1 hour after being served our appetizers. My husband and I realized what their problem was that night and told them. As busy as they were in the restaurant they still kept taking orders over the phone and getting them out...how about NOT taking orders for people who were not there and take care of those customers inside your restaurant first! I must say my stake was amazing! And since that experience I have gone back but never when they are bound to be busy. read more

Have been here a couple of times and they are consistently good for home-made Hispanic food when you don't feel like cooking. Good prices and a good portions. My last visit there when the waiter brought out our entrees he asked who each was for. When I claimed mine (the grilled chicken with shrimp) he said "Isn't that too much food for you?" in Spanish. His judgement was uncalled for and made me feel self-conscious so was not appreciated. Other than that, I have always been satisfied with the waiters as they are always attentive.
