The people running the telescopes are so friendly and informed. They aren't just reciting facts; they are genuinely passionate about what they do. They explained how Jupiter has 70+ moons and showed us four of them. I'll never forget the rotten egg moon the one that smells like sulfur! Price & Timing: It's only $5 per person. You get a 30 minute timeslot, which is plenty of time to rotate through all 8 or 9 telescopes and see the Moon's craters and the planets. Overall: If you're visiting or just live nearby, go check this out! It's cheap, fun, and you learn so much without having to drive far out of the city. A lot of young professionals live in Lodo. Union Station is right in the middle of Lodo so that makes it very easy to get to. There are tons of options for great restaurants like Jax, Pig and Sprout, and Citizen Rail just to name a few. RiNo is right next door so you can visit a lot of great breweries like Ratio, 10 Barrel, and my favorite Odell. I love Lodo and will probably continue to stay here when I visit!!!!!

They have reduced book sales throughout the year, I believe is 3 times. I volunteered at the last one and it was really fun checking people out with their books. I can't believe how many books some people got! The prices ranged from $1 to $5, so it's a great sale. Sometimes they show movies. I was recently told you can check out museum passes -- whattttt!?!? They also have a wood burner machine thing, no idea where it is or what all the random things are that can be checked out here. I need to ask more questions next time I'm at this library!!!

I have always found the staff knowledgeable, helpful, and very willing to seek out answers, no matter what my issue might be. There are enormous resources available here, far beyond the physical books and media on the shelves. These include community rooms and study rooms, a constant series of seminars and events, the ideaLAB maker space, the children's library, passes for many local cultural institutions, and the Community Technology Center (computer lab, classes, and workshops). There's a Healthy Snack program for children, extensive help to navigate social services for those in need, a number of book clubs, a book store, and a large collection of eBooks and audio books. There's a streaming resource for movies, music, and TV shows, a huge digital magazine collection, and digital access to The Denver Post and The New York Times. Research resources include BizBoost (research services to formulate data for a business plan), Digital Navigators (help with acquiring electronics and using technology), Nonprofit assistance, the Patent & Trademark Resource Center, and student consulting. There is a huge selection of research databases available online. The Western History collection is massive and comprehensive. There are extensive genealogy resources and a large collection of historic maps and geographic resources. The library also has an outstanding art collection. Some of the most important pieces are on loan to the Denver Art Museum, but the seventh floor hallways and the Vida Ellison Gallery on the seventh floor are used to display pieces from the collection between periodic, formal art exhibits. The fifth floor of the building is another highlight. There's a large lobby which is used for mostly historical exhibits. The Western History collection is on this floor. The Gates Reading Room sits within Symbol of the West, a sculpture of massive wooden beams designed by Michael Graves. The area usually features exhibits of photographs and artifacts from the Western History collection and is a spectacular study space. The library started in a wing of the original Denver High School building at 19th and Stout Streets. It notably included the first children's library in the U.S. The facility moved to the iconic Carnegie building (now the McNichols Civic Center Building) in Civic Center Park in 1910 and remained there until the new Burnham Hoyt building at 14th and Broadway was completed in 1956. Noted architect Michael Graves designed the current building which opened in 1995. It incorporates the 1956 structure quite seamlessly. I greatly admire the new building. I think it is one of Graves' best projects. Internally, it is very functional while the exterior is stunning.

Very open, clean, and spacious park. I love the dead and barren trees in November, we don't get that in California and paired with the cold, it feels weirdly nostalgic of something I've never had and warming on the inside (yes, I'm insane). I also passed by a lot of joggers and dog walkers in the mid morning. Very safe. I passed by 2 small lakes with some water fowl nearby, standard mallard ducks and Canadian geese. Very calming. Saw a couple squirrels too. Not a bad medium sized city park.

Or to just play at the park, and a lot of people go there for running, biking, or playing soccer. One of the best things about this park is that it did not smell bad. I noticed because I know some parks have a stinky smell, but this one did not. Even though we went during the summer, it wasn't super hot and there were not a bunch of bugs for that time of year. Crowd The crowd depends on when you go and if there is an event happening. It was not crowded at all on the day we went because we went during the week. However, I know during certain times of the year they have jazz in the park and it gets super packed. Most of the time, everybody pretty much minds their own business or they are friendly, but if you go for an event, you should plan ahead accordingly. Price: This location is completely free to go to since there is no park entrance fee or anything. Even the jazz in the park events are free and really neat, which makes it a great spot if you are looking for a nice place that is laid-back and free to enjoy. Parking and Transportation: There are plenty of places to park during a normal day, but when we went to jazz in the park during the summer, it did take some time to find a spot. You should make sure to show up early so that you can find parking. If you live a little bit away, you might want to take an Uber, or you can just walk or ride your bike if you live close enough. Overall Experience: My husband and I went right before sundown to do a picnic and painting date that also served as a photo shoot. We had someone set this up for us and we paid for it, so it was very convenient because we just showed up and followed their instructions. It was a great time to go because it wasn't very busy and the lighting was perfect. I think it is a good spot to have a photo shoot or a cute picnic date because it has such a romantic feel to it. We had a really fun time and I highly recommend this place.

The art show still required a 21+ attendance, which we totally complied with, even if it was mostly art and merchandise. I did mostly see chakra and ecstatic art pieces for sale. I bought an $80.00 dress from a private seller and saw some cute, unique accessories. I absolutely was happy that it turned into a club right after the event. The admission was totally free and the bartenders were very laid back. Parking wasn't ideal, but it is mainly meter parking! I enjoyed the security in the front entrance and enjoyed this artsy little find.
