Great quick lunch or dinner spot. Casual burrito, taco, or bowl grab and go kind of place but it also has indoor and outdoor seating. It's basically a local version of Chipotle, and similarly priced, but I think a little better quality. Have always had fresh food and fast service here. Definitely recommend the rooftop deck, it is a great spot to hang out on a nice day. read more

Rio Burrito is the first fast, Tex-Mex restaurant in Mountain Home -- a mom & pop version of Chipotle -- that has been eagerly anticipated. They opened this week and I was really looking forward to trying it, so I went for lunch. The owners created a beautiful space from an old breakfast and lunch dive that burned a few years back. It has a nice, open courtyard with lots of seating, even more on the roof. Bright murals are painted everywhere and a wrought iron fence adorns the courtyard. The inside is small and has a row of stools at a counter in order to make room for those ordering at the register. It all looks great. For all the cooking that was going on, I didn't really smell anything while I was waiting. They have a simple, straight-forward menu -- bowls, burritos or nachos -- with steak, chicken, pork or vegetarian. Nice and simple. I ordered the steak burrito with white rice and pinto beans. I got queso sauce and shredded cheese BECAUSE, salsa and sour cream. Most of the steak was fatty and had no seasoning to speak of. It was a solid medium well, which added to the overly chewy texture. The beans looked and tasted like they came straight from a can, and the salsa tasted jarred as well. It was "as big as your face" as promised, so it filled me up, yet it let me down. As for beverages they feature a variety of Mexican bottled drinks, including Mexican Coke. The staff was efficient and friendly enough and handled the crowds like champs. I'll be back to try the rest of the menu, but I won't be in a rush about it. Try it have you have time, but if the line is too far out of the gate, wait. read more

Nice location, friendly staff, no flavor. Tortilla was gringo supermarket shelf quality, cilantro lime rice tasted of neither, was undercooked and crunchy. Black beans tasted straight from the can with no additional seasoning. Chicken was bland and needs to make the acquaintance of things like garlic, onion, cumin, Mexican oregano. Up charging another $1 for adding a little queso or $2 for guacamole is ridiculous for a $12 burrito with maybe $2.00 worth of ingredients. Fresh cilantro, onion, limes, jalapeños, tomatoes and much better salsa would go a long way to helping the flavor. Most authentic things there were the Topo Chicos and Jarritos soft drinks. Had high hopes for this place and learning what spices, garnishes and techniques would be used in Mexico would up the quality quickly. read more

It's like Chipotle but a lot more expensive and eerily similar...eerily. Order the chips and you'll see what I mean. There's something weird going on with the Cheeto's so when you're ordering make sure they don't add them if that's not your space jam. I got a veggie, added guacamole ($2!) so it ended up costing $15 for a tortilla rich burrito. Sure it's big (not with ingredients) but so what? If there was table service, then I guess I get it, but it's build your own (like Chipotle), so it's kind of steep. Again, not the end of the world, but you're in Mountain Home Arkansas where the median income is $39k. I'm from Coastal California and half Mexican so I'd like to think of myself as a Mexican food aficionado. So the bottom line... It's okay. It's nice to have the option if you live here and probably the best fresh option compared to El Chico and the other local Mexican places. But you're going to pay homeboy. Let me put it this way, if I took out 3 of my friends and we all ordered the same thing, that would be $60 for 4 BURRITOS, those better be some epic MF'n burritos! If you're visiting, well you may just want to hold off and wait out the weekend till you get back to your hood for Chipotle (oh Damn, I dropped the C word again). This it's almost a Chipotle clone. The difference is the price. Chipotle burritos are $8+ and these are $12+ each. I just didn't see what made these $4 more than their competitor. You give an order and it passes through many people which caused both of our orders to be wrong. White rice was dry and was 90% of the meal. A level scoop of meat was it, about 2-3 oz. For that we paid over $30 for our meal including two sodas. Will be awhile before try this again. Great idea for food but they need to return to earth with their prices read more

I love this place because I love the bottle cokes and the rooftop. The nachos are my favorite and I think it is best on a nice cool evening on the roof with the lights shining. I think they need umbrellas for the sun and rain but other than that it is a fun place to go and it is different than anything else in the area. read more

We love Mexican and couldn't wait to try it. Walked in and started our order, even after realizing no in door seating so I knew I'd have to sit in the sun. As they are building I ask for salt and pepper, they didn't have it they said. I asked for tomatoes. I was told no again but they had salsa. Finally got our food and ordered sodas. No diet Coke's. I was told it wasn't authentic so no they wouldn't carry it. $35 for 2 burritos and 2 bottled sodas. All you could taste was the tortilla, the rice was crunchy. Don't think this place will last long, terrible esthetics... eat out side in the heat or with your nose against a wall. Food is expensive ($12 burritos should be $8). Limited selection, rolled loosely so it comes apart and makes a mess. Only non sugar drink is canned mineral water ($2.50). Won't be missed when they go under. read more

I really wanted to like this place as I missed having a good burrito place to go to. I've eaten here twice. The first time I had a burrito and was not impressed, it seemed bland to me, and I soon after determined I was dealing with after effects of Covid. I gave it a second try and paid attention to the staff making my burrito. In making the burrito, every option was a single 'scoop' of the ingredient, so even tho you have to pay an extra dollar for a steak burrito, you still get less than a dollar of meat in the burrito. The burrito tasted good, so the salsa and other ingredients were good, but the fact that the main ingredient was barely there made this a place I will not visit again, especially considering the cost. I really would like a good burrito place nearby, and hoped this would be it, but unless they start giving a fair amount of meat in the burritos, I will not be going there again. If you order a beef burrito, it should have at least a third to a half of beef, not a single mouthful. The employees were friendly and service was good, but a steak burrito with less than a single bite of steak in the whole thing is not worth $5 let alone the $13 they charge. read more
